What did you do in BL2 during your most recent session?

Got a nicely-timed 2W as Hammerlock requested Claptrap’s eye; Maya said “NO!”

Three Digistruct runs, three different hosts; two Legendaries for two hosts; major use of Google Translator. Tonight was…educational.

Jump sideways while shooting. Seriously - never give those bastiges the pleasure of chasing you backwards.

Ha! Good call. It was more about the fact that my UH wasn’t actually firing. which is why I was on the ropes in the first place! It happens so often I now have to spend as much time checking my gun’s firing as I do where I’m aiming

Decided to clear a few more open missions with Dee Lightful (final round of Bandit Slaughter, Uncle Teddy and Hungry Like The Skag) then use her to continue Cobra data farming…
@shure- Not sure if taking Keep Firing or Auto Loader would help but I’m generally to the point where I manually reload with everyone except Anarchy Gaige…

Did some quick OP8 mobbing runs at Washburne, Magnys, Southpaw and Bloodshot, and a quick farm of the Dust with forum member @Sun_Tsunami who was playing as Maya while I played Krieg.

Torgue Commando rolled The Mines of Avarice and picked up the My Kingdom for a Wand mission. For missions like this, I wish they would hook you up the way they do for the story mission when you first get to Tundra Express and need a fire weapon, or in the Wattle Gobbler DLC when you need a slag weapon; it’s “hidden” somewhere nearby. Maybe there is, and I haven’t found it? Like there’s a Commerce in one of the local barrels or something if this mission is active.

Also - I love the Evil Smasher for its risk/reward mechanic - it was one- to two-shotting slagged orcs when up and decimating the Duke, but then I’m running for my life in between power ups. I feel like Mad Max in the Thunderdome fighting Blaster when he’s trying to get the chainsaw started. I would love future analogues to have a hard cap on the reload count though. The randomness is necessary in my opinion, but if it goes for too long without a reload, the excitement starts to evaporate (like 30+ reloads).

edit -

Dahl Commando rolled Murderlin’s Temple, so he knocked out the first two rounds. Highlights include crushing it with the WTF shield (letting orbs fly/kill when needed; grabbing them mid-flight when not, and not losing track of a single one), forgetting that Squires (despite their red health bar) are fire resistant, and having them tank through Sandhawk fire while slagged, and getting scared enough to jump a little when a couple of Astral Wizards ran at me Alma-style from across the map. I’ve had Nomads do this as well… it’s a little freaky.

well Since Sal has discovered the UH in UVHM the rest of the weapons in his arsenal are starting to rust a bit. I think that gun was made for him! I’m just ploughing through Loaders like they’s made of china. Course, I’m dying more than with other characters but that’s because it’s easy to get too cocky

Sped through the latter half of the story in record time compared to my other characters. Sawtooth Cauldron in particular went much quicker than I ever remember. Now off to Hero’s Pass but not too worried about what might be there. Bring it on!

I’ll be honest, I’ve never given the Evil Smasher much thought. Damn it, you might make me reconsider a gun I thought useless AGAIN! Stop doing that, it’s stuffing my backpack  Do you give your Evil Smasher a buff? Or does it smash enough evil as is?

OT, currently rocking the pirate DLC with my level 64 Axton, in Italiano. I’ve specced 11 points into Grit (Fermezza) which is letting me behave a little … rashly (bonk!).
Do you give your Evil Smasher a buff? Or does it smash enough evil as is?
Nope - it’s good as is. When it’s powered up, I’m fairly certain that it hits harder than any other assault rifle in the game… you just have to play the reload game to catch a power up (which can be fun in its own way). When it’s not powered up, it’s fairly weak.

11 points in Grit gives you, what, 44% odds to proc? Which is a little less than half the time… do you find it firing more than this in practice?

It certainly felt like it did, but that might be confirmation bias.

The fact that Grit chains even exist makes me think the rate is inaccurate. I mean, the one time it doesn’t fail, the player should be taking a knee, right?

I agree (though I did just have to look up the phrase ‘take a knee’ to see what it meant :dukefp: :football:). I actually suspected the rate more when I just had 5 points - 20% isn’t much, but it was clonking in a lot.

Appetite for Destruction is so damn addicting! I’ve been back in there, screwing around with builds and set ups. Just did a respec, tossed on a Legendary Binder, and went at it. Missed time on the first go with that, got it on the second.

This is FUN.

My favourite COM! I can’t help myself but to ask, what’s your build/loadout with the Leg. Binder?

I’m a Maya fanatic…

The calculator isn’t loading for me at the moment for some reason. I don’t use the Binder often (my two Mayas use the L Siren and Blurred Trickster, mostly). When I do, it tends to switch up depending on the idea in my head at the time.

My thinking going into Appetite T3 with it was that I wanted to get as many 1-2 shot kills as possible and throw Sub-Sequence around a ton. Bee + 10/5 Reaper + 10/5 Wreck and a fire Pimpernel, with Quasars to melt shields and group.

The specifics are at the end of this video:

What kinds of set ups do you use with it?

CBF uploading a screenshot from PSN to Fb then saving it and uploading it here, so here’s the build - http://bl2skills.com/siren.html#455001455051050100000554510501

I don’t spec into Flicker because the weapons I use have no trouble applying DoT, though it used to be a placeholder until the Helios buff. One point in Sweet Release is more than enough even in 4P, especially with SS procs. Res is there because I often play co-op and CBF respeccing when I play solo, and 4 points in both Ward and Inertia because I can’t decide on which is better, Ward for raiding and Inertia for mobbing but again CBF respeccing, plus I wanted a hybrid build that I could sue for mobs and raids, I just switch gear depending on the situation.

Mobbing (Binder) gear:

 • Fire and corrosive Pimp, of course, Maliwan grips because I prefer larger mags and faster reloads, better synergy with Foresight than Jakobs grips, and IMO the Pimp does enough damage without needing a Jakobs grip. Personal perference.
 • Twister, because Twister. Rustler’s, because Rustler’s, and Jakobs grip, you know why.
 • Fourth weapon slot isn’t really relevant, just depends on my mood, Grog, Rubi, Harold, Jakobs sniper, Bekah, Tattler, Bitch, the list goes on. All the usual suspects though, more or less.
 • Blockade, because Ward and Inertia, I find The Bee is unnecessary overkill and although Maya’s perhaps the best user of it the Blockade never goes down with the two mentioned skills.
 • Quasar, because Quasar.
 • Bone of the Ancients, the one piece of gear I switch during mobbing depending on the enemies.

I would like to ask why you didn’t take Immolate? Maya’s not prone to a lot of deaths but it is a great emergency tool, and I never carry a launcher, but especially if you’re using The Bee I’d think you’d want Immolate as The Bee provides virtually no defense. Also, did you take BP just because it looks cool? Because it does, but even after the buff it’s far from a useful skill, especially since typically you’re keeping your distance with Maya and engaging from long range rather than charging enemies just to apply extra elemental DoT.

Cleared more main story side quests with Dee Lightful and made a few more Cobra data runs with her as well. Stopped by the loot train and got a Lobbed Fire Leech and a L. Siren from it, as well as a L. Nurse and L. Roboteer from a tubby midget and tubby skag respectively. @Slif_One- that’s almost what I’m using for Dee Lightful’s Thoughtlock build except I only have 1 point in Inertia and no Res…

Only one point in Inertia?! :open_mouth:

I’m assuming that Dee Lightful is the name of one of your Siren’s? Mine is called Maya, ■■■■ I’m creative. I called my 'zerker Tyrion, which I thought was funny, and my Krieg is UBA, because he’s an ultimate badass.

On the odd chance that I switch coms it’s buffed by that com  I tend to give everyone, even mules, their own names and Dee in my new Siren…
