What did you do in BL2 during your most recent session?

Took Long Gone (Bandit Krieg) through the Wildlife Exploitation mission. He’s at level 57 now which means both Bloodsplosion and Release the Beast. Bloodlust really compliments Bandit weapons so I went down that first but it’s excellent to have RtB now; I love the flexible rhythm of melee / gun combat you can get with it.

Used a Sawbar with some shock Bettys for Stalkers, Skags and most of Bloodwing, though I finished her with a thrown axe after melee killing a slag - Fuel the Blood is incredible and very satisfying when you get a flying enemy. Loaders went down fairly easily with a slightly underlevelled corrosive RokSalt. The reload speed after a kill for Krieg is hilarious with that thing.

I like that chapter though it is a little long, you need some stamina (no problem for someone as fit as Krieg of course). Found a tubby stalker and he yielded a Cracked Sash, first one I’ve seen or at least recognised, it may have dropped before I knew it was unique. Finished it off by attempting to give Claptrap a high five and hitting myself instead.

This is so You.

Got a little more farming time in today before getting kicked off the XB1 by my son :astonished: (Well, to be fair to the lad he has just completed a pretty intense semester at college).

Wot dropped the Mechromancer skin, and I got a couple more Emperors (both non-elemental) and a bladed Energizing Commerce. Then I moved back to Bunker for another batch of runs, but he’s continuing his stingy ways.

I forgot to mention these earlier but I noticed a few interesting things in my recent farming. Dunno if its common knowledge.

Raider skiffs from the dlc are vulnerable to fire dmg, not corrosive for some reason, even though they are armoured.

The Badtouch doesnt always spawn with an acc even though it is purple rarity.

The Rapier never spawns with an acc (or I was super duper unlucky and went through 30+ of them without seeing one with an acc) despite being blue.

The Rapier is fixed with melee accessory, but good catches on the others!

Since it’s always elemental, the odds of an accessory are greatly lowered. Same thing with the Energizing Commerce, Good Touch, etc.

Conversely, weapons that are always non-elemental by default (eg the Judge) actually seem to have a greater chance of an accessory?

Actually, it always spawns with an accessory - the melee one! Although it can spawn in any element (or more likely no element).

Realised just a few mins after posting that the blade is a flipping acc, thanks brain ._.

Noticed this on other Jakobs uniques too, never realised that was the case however.

Ran Ultimate Krieg!! thru Thousands Cuts to get Brick and then did Rocko’s Modern Strife before calling it a day. Also, while in WEP retrieved a rather large teddy bear- just have to get Tannis riding a fish and see the giant mimic vs giant golem fight to see all the Easter eggs…

Got impatient for my wife to rejoin me playing, so I made another Gaige character. She’s level 8 and just killed Boom Bewm.

No crazy good drops. DT was glitchy, literally stood there doing nothing when the 2 Badass Bullymongs spawned on that island by MidgeMong.

Dahl Commando changed his build to a Gemini/Nuke thing. I’m going to give a lack of slag turrets another shot at being my main build for this guy. Dahl makes decent slag weapons, he still gets the rocket pads for the turret, and gets more out of his skill tree in the Gunpowder tree (especially Do or Die, which is his only real ticket out of FFYL unless some enemy is dumb enough to stand near me).

He rolled the Perfectly Peaceful mission equipped as follows:

  • Shock E-Tech Dart (for the unending stream of loose Adult Varkids that come out of nowhere)
  • Fire Sandhawk (for Threshers and Spiderants)
  • Slag Railer (slag duty, and it can hit those Adult Varkids at distance)
  • Corrosive Bearcat (in case some Varkid gets to Badass tier).
  • Slag Bouncing Betty (also slag duty)

It got pretty intense as I let myself get backed into a corner against a horde of Spiderants at one point. :grimacing: With Quick Charge, Able, Onslaught, and Metal Storm up basically constantly, Axton killed it. I may do that again on purpose later, but throw on a Ranger COM instead. :metal:

Today was Maya day; got her up to 64.

She had a rough start doing Highlands side quests to get to 63 - three deaths to threshers. I hate those things, unless I’m playing Krieg. The Hyperion medical officer was “escorted” by three rift threshers and one other adult thresher variety that I didn’t catch (2 deaths). And unfortunately the Ultimate Badass Pyre Thresher was in today. I don’t recall ever defeating that one when it appears. Got Tannis’s ECHO before dying, at least.

No deaths after that though. Visited the Slab King, which is always fun. That opened up The Bane, so she did a Dust run and picked up my first ever Lyuda (shock, level 63, very nice indeed!). No tubbies this time. Moving on, she did Lynchwood for the first time ever; second time ever for me. Axton did it in NVHM nearly a year ago, so my memory was pretty fuzzy. That’s a fun map! I think I’ve tended to avoid it before just because I couldn’t afford to gain the xp in NVHM/TVHM. Anyway, bank robbed, train blown up, Bane found and promptly vendored, reached level 64, ready to start including McNally in future Dust runs.

Maya 2.0 reset UVHM today.

So, first thing to do was to hit-up Knuckledragger for a Hornet. Only took three tries! Not bad, either. Bandit grip, double-shot accessory, Tediore sight (I prefer those on Pistols). Nice drop, that has already served her very well.

So, off to Oasis she went, from Liar’s Berg. Turned in Whoops (shock) and Don’t Copy That Floppy (slag). Also borrowed a couple of Sandhawks from OP3 Axton (corrosive, fire). Left Captain Scarlett hanging there, and headed off to the Badass Crater of Badassitude.

So, fought all the usual suspects there. No Slow Hand from BA Rex this time. Went on to farm Pyro Pete the (not at all) Invincible.

Now, things got interesting with Pete. Just a little. Seems that during my extended absence from BL2 (August last year through a few weeks ago), there was a patch that included a buff for Cloud Kill. It’s been handy even in UVHM, so yeah, MAJOR BUFF. Now, I had THOUGHT that Pete resisted corrosive damage. And his SHIELD indeed does. BUT, I also noticed that it was ticking off 838K per tick against him after his shield dropped (Cloud Kill, that is). So I decided to try swapping to corrosive BotA and Sandy after his shield was down, to see if things changed. Took a little less ammo (80-100 rounds) to take him down, on average. But even better, Cloud Kill now ticked off about 300K MORE against him per tick (1127K or thereabouts, if memory serves). And not once did I see the dreaded word ‘RESIST!’, so we’re on to something here.

Probably something that, if I were to search the forum for 3-5 minutes, I’d see had been thoroughly treated by a COMPETENT player last Fall. Nonetheless, I’m more than a little proud of myself here. I did a thing. FOR SCIENCE!

Anyhow, been farming Pete when I hung it up for the night. OH, and before I reset UVHM, I managed to get a Badaboom off of King Mong. LOVE those things!

Interesting drops? Had a boom bike in Southern Raceway drop an OP2 Moloko Etech (slag–is that Skorry?). Sidebar: I studied Russian language in undergrad, and taught it for a while as a grad student. I know that the Vladof sniper rifle names and prefixes are based on that Clockwork Orange deal, but the language in that film referenced here is in turn based on Russian. Without getting into real linguists’ territory here, it IS Russian. Some Russian words, anyway, and generally not misused in context. Well, not until you get to BL2, where someone calls a sniper rifle ‘Milk’.

Incendiary Fastball in one of Pete’s chests, right after he himself dropped a NE Madhous. Got a nice OP2 Fire Kitten, a couple nice Bandit shotfuns (one each NE 3-barrel and fire single-Hyperion-barrel) and a sweet Torgue Casual Stalker. OH, and tucked out of view in a strange corner in the Forge, where a Scorn throw had opened up a small trash pile, there was a 0.0 fuse longbow fire Bonny! Now THAT’S my kind of world drop!

Oh, hey! Was it always the case that someone in Lynchwood could drop Law? Not sure I remember that, but yesterday either Deputy Winger or one of the Marshals dropped one. I wasn’t sure if that’s always been in the game or not. Held on to it, because it wrecks those crystal skeletons in TTAoDK.

Speaking of which, that’s one of tomorrow’s (taking another day, or at least half-day, off of work) priorities. Maya 2.0 will go finish the Scarlett DLC, at least START the TTAoDK one, and maybe give Hyperius a try. Wanna get Grog Nozzle in-hand first, though. Rubi MIGHT suffice, but that’s a long way off now (got rid of the last one, because it was a low-level piece and I needed the space). MIGHT move on with some of the main story quest, too, at least to get as far as Sanctuary. We’ll see.

Corrosive does indeed damage him (so Cloud Kill is worth speccing, whereas eg Helios does nothing) but the damage is reduced. I prefer going shock, perhaps with a shock BotA.

Yep! Rare drop from the Sheriff.

Heh yes, I remember thinking it was a really clever made up lingo but then I learned some Russian and realised it was basically a transcription. Always assumed Vladof was just Russian though, never made the connection to Burgess!

You have nonetheless helped all as incompetent players. I also had always assumed corrosive resistance. This is definitely good information to know.

Spent about 45 mins farming the Hodunks for the Slagga in TVHM. Thought it would take longer to get the one that I wanted but ended up getting it. Also like 7 more in the process. It has to be one of the easiest and fastest weapons to farm.

Started with farming some FotF variants. Did for a little too long, tried on Krieg as was the plan and ended up no liking it. All in all a pretty crummy start.

Regardless, I took Krieg out for legendary com hunting, got a fair few tubbies and they did drop 2 leg coms. Sadly they were for Gaige and Sal, my least played of all the characters.

Then I proceeded to finish the Clan wars quest line as Krieg, sided with the Zafords and farmed for a Slagga. Didn’t take long at all, got a Bandit grip first try and while I would have preferred Maliwan for increased slag chance I didn’t bother farming for pretty parts.

Then I took sonic Maya to Caustic Caverns to grab a Blockhead, and boy did the game not want me to have one. Took waaay longer than I’d like to get one but it did eventually drop and was promptly sent to Krieg. I run a RtB Krieg but a few shotguns and slag weapons don’t hurt.

Next Maya progressed the Pirate booty storyline all the way up to the Sandhawk and I decided I wanted one of each element with atleast Dahl stock. The dahl stock in this case adds a extra shot to the burst, making it a 4 shot burst rather than a 3, making it worthwhile to fuss over. The game decided to be nice this time round and quickly provided me with :
1)Shock dahl grip & stock
2)Corrosive dahl grip & stock
3)Slag dahl drip & stock + reload speed acc
4)Fire tediore grip, dahl stock
I think I’ll continue farming tomorrow for a fire dahl grip & stock variant purely to have a pretty collection.

This tale is sad and long.

I just spent 7 hours trying to get Gaige through OP4 Peak with mostly L72 gear (I have OP4 Antagonist and OP3 Bee and DPUH, but I’m mostly using L72 Fibbers and Hails). I thought it wouldn’t be too bad as I sailed through OP3… but no - so many high up turrets and nothing to bounce shots off.

Anyway, I finally managed it and opened the 3 reward chests… I’d died a lot and funds were getting low so I dumped a bunch of guns on the floor to pick up and sell the chest loot… and they all vanished.

I quit the game so I wouldn’t lose my guns and crossed my fingers… but no… it seems there isn’t a save point between completing the Peak and getting to the chests.

Hating the world right now - how can there not be a save point right after you complete the Peak?? :sob:

Dang that’s a ruff one. What console are you on? Maybe I can join you and help you run the peak. I also need to OP a couple guys. I have some OP3 gear I can help you with too I believe.

I’m stuck in the dark ages on PS3… thanks for the offer, but I only play solo - wouldn’t have the same level of (eventual) satisfaction if someone else helped out!

Alright no problem. I understand that. I have a couple characters that I play with some friends online and also my personal solo guys too. And I am in the same boat as you, still kicking it on the 360.
