What did you do in BL2 during your most recent session?

That seems to happen if you still have the “Collect 10 slag samples” optional quest from the main story line incomplete.

Yeah the Fridge one always glitches on me like that… I haven’t experienced it anywhere else in BL2 but it happened in TPS the other week. I forget which map exactly now (one of the Outland maps I think, I seem to remember trying to get back to Pickle when I noticed it), but a triggered FT just refused to show up in the list for a while.

Krieg’s fun and effective cruise through UVHM just came to an abrupt halt. Started Bright Lights Flying City, had fun slaughtering rats in the Fridge and stalkers in the Highlands (that Binary Thunderball Fists a LLM dropped last session is nice to decloak stalkers!). Found the red chest by Slappy’s pond, took a look at the bridge route but didn’t kill the EXP loader in time. Still not sure why one would go that route, but at least I know it exists and how it works now…

Then the constructor kicked Krieg’s ass up one side of the river and down the other. :frowning: I continue to have no freaking clue how Krieg can kill constructors without a level-appropriate Lady Fist, which is impossible to have at his current level (56). Melee doesn’t work because the constructor will put him in FFYL almost instantly; explosives barely move its health bar (even Fastballs); the nonstop missile launches prevent effective use of the Hornet or other midrange guns.

Maybe a decent corrosive Snider (and a bunch of sniper ammo capacity upgrades) to grind it down from across the river? Since Krieg himself has no access to Sanctuary, Axton would have to do the vending machine farming to try to find one. Neither is far enough in the story to be able to farm a Lyuda…

Are you using melee or hellborn based build? Melee should make work of Constructors pretty quick with the thrown axes. I have no better tip for hellborn build than farm some more gear. As for the Fastball not working, it’s because Constructors have grenade damage resistance IIRC.

Constructors are really tough for Krieg, especially when you’re midway through levelling up and haven’t got a full set of gear.

There’s a few suggestions here:

I think any corrosive weapon that can deal a lot of crits easily - like a Snider - will probably do the trick. If you haven’t got anything like that it might be worth farming a Hornet? It’s a quick one to get hold of.

If you’re running melee and have skill points in Fuel the Blood it can be effective to melee kill a loader or the turret and then chuck axes.

Corrosive grenades or RL might do the trick and depending on how you’re specced corrosive shotguns or SMG’s- don’t suppose your Axton has come across the Bad Touch yet, has he? IIRC the Secret Stash can be accessed from Claptrap’s Place in UVHM…

I’m running a melee build. Thrown axes didn’t do much damage, and had similar problems to my attempts to use the Hornet. If I’m in position to do either, there’s a continuous stream of missiles headed my way, most of which will hit since they’re seekers. Or if I’m ducking behind the big wall buttress where the container drops, I’m not shooting/throwing, and the UVHM enemy health regen becomes a problem.

Thinking back to the other characters who have done this fight, Maya can just toss a single bullet at it periodically and giggle about how broken Cloud Kill is, and Axton has the turret to draw aggro so he can lay Hornet bursts into the eye as fast as he can reload.

I’ll have to see if I have any good corrosive grenades around this level. Krieg’s non-explosive grenade options are pretty out of date since he found that Crunch COM and became even more explosive. Axton might be carrying something though. My Bad Touches are level 43 and 47, and I’m hoping not to pick up Krieg’s until 72 or later… I do remember a purple Jakobs rifle in someone’s bank that’s just one level beyond Krieg, so I guess that would work for the “plink it to death from across the river” approach. Level 57 would also let me see if Bloodsplosion can do the job using the adds at the start of the fight. If it works, Bloodsplosion would also be useful against the Overlook constructor, so that’s probably the way to go. Or is Bloodsplosion grenade damage that would merely tickle the constructor?

Hmmm, I had (deleted them both) two Kriegs at OP8 and when I leveled them up I never had a problem with Constructors before… I often laughed in front of them (sorry if you’re offended but I meant to describe how it is not difficult to take down a Constructor with Krieg, mainly melee).

You’re using Silence the Voices right? Appropriate COMs? Shields? What’s your build?

The best way to take down a constructor with Krieg is allow it to make a few bots, slag the bots and hit one with a corrosive fastball (flesh crunch COM). If you time it right, the Bloodsplosion chain will kill the constructor. Also, this is awesome.

A standard corrosive Vladof sniper will also make really quick work of Constructors. Just hang out across the bridge and crush its eye over and over.

Reply to @Worblehat, not me!

Not a lot of time last night, but was able to get my level 5 Sal to level 8 so he could use the rapid infinity I found a while ago with another characters. I also bought a valdoff pistol from the machine and went to try out the zerker combo with those 2 weapons. So far, so good. Cleaned up Doc Mercy guys real fast. Then called it a night. Maybe tonight I’ll continue with Sal if I can manage to get some time.

Have a good day guys!!

I reset my OP8 zer0’s badass points, went back into the game as OP0 and just started beating the crap out of anyone and anything in order to get badass points really fast. Concentrated on sniper challenges (at the expense of the bandits in the berg) and got to about level 3 or 4 on all, so switched to pistols (at the expense of loaders and the bunker) and now getting close to levels 3 and 4 on those too. Would love to get all of my BAR up to around 30%!

I plonked back into TVHM last night to have a go at Terra for poops and chuckles. Sal at 59, gear at 58, Terra at 52. It was almost pointless except to farm eridium, have a go at that vault symbol ( couldn’t get it ) and have a boo at the COM ( utterly pointless ).

It did drop a purple Gatling Gun ( first of the game ) and a purple Doc’s Longrider that I tried out on the 1000 Cuts denizens … :scream: … but True mode got boring quickly and got back to UVHM

Took Gaige to wipe out a fiery cult, then strolled into Bloodshot Ramparts to rescue Roland. Gaige is sailing through everything quite easily at the moment and I often forget to use her buddy. Did my pizza delivery thing and now off to Catch a Train!

Oh, and got my first Legendary (after the Hornet I farmed for): a Gunerang. Not sure how good it is as everything is dropping quicky anyway!

Cheese Master Will reporting for duty:

Sometimes you have to respec, if only for once situation, and then spec back. You’ve got Southern Shelf to do that at. Go explosive for your build & get a Root AR or farm a Harold if you haven’t.

Next, and I think I mentioned this to someone else, when you get to the Extraction Plant, skip the bridge by going through the water, climbing the ladder and rushing across. Go immediately right and hide behind the outcropping on the wall so you can dodge the missile salvos & turret shots from the constructor. Look cause a Exploder will rush you as soon as you cross the bridge and chase you there.

After that you just have to fight the Constructor as if you were playing Gears of War.

The other option is to not make the right and run right past the Constructor and trigger the new U so you respawn behind the Constructor (if you get downed). It’s more of a gamble to do make that mad dash and avoid his stomp and nova, but if you are quick you can and then get a little cover and take him out from behind.

Either way, it’s totally possible, but spec’ing into an Explosive build is key. Corrosive Transfusion grenades & slag are a big help too.

Gear swapping on level 72 characters mainly now that they have the perks of the patch.

Took UVHM Sal up to Blood Shot Stronghold and called it a day. Easy to forget you can't use just any gear tha sounds cool on UVHM.

Oh the last could of days I took Krieg and Sal each back to NVHM to fight Terra & the guaranteed legendaries were a Sledge's Shotgun, Conference call, and then on TVHM a Logan's Gun & a Gub.

Gears of War…what’s that? It can’t be another video game, because there is only ONE video game

No, there are clearly 3. Borderlands, Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.

Duh. :stuck_out_tongue:
