I have still yet to get that when I activate my claptraps skills. I can see where that would be a Bad area for that to activate, all that open space :wink:

agree

Continued with Fragtrap briefly, reached Eleseer at level 27. Did this with the build (because I found a Celestial COM in a machine, at this level it’s +3)

Not really sure what in that middle tree is considered good. I know SWAB is good but I took it out for now to make a start on getting the survival from the middle tree. Not playing co-op though. Any tips are welcome.

Dunno if it’s good, but this is a solo build I worked out with some thought about avoiding either team-centric skills or action skills in the middle tree that I don’t want to use and still get some goodness out of it.

Hey, all tips are welcome. I only ever got him to level 12ish on Xbox so this is the furthest he’s gone with me. I do like having the Shield/Health subroutines, but I guess by level 70 that isn’t needed. Thanks for the tips

I’d thought about the shield/health points, but that would eventually leave a single point left over and where does it go? I’m not a fan of that tree in general 'cause of needing to spread five points across the first tier if you want to go down farther and I don’t want the RNG’ness of All the Guns.

Tomorrow i’m going to be trying to get the trophy for using all of his vaulthunter.exe modes. Hopefully I can do co-op ones myself with a second controller!

Dual-wielding FTW

The subroutines aren’t that big an issue. Just don’t spec triple clocked if you don’t plan to work around them

Safety First is one of his best skills. The shield subroutine is glitched to give your shield a 0 shield recharge deal, which is amazingly good for survivability in the first place, but just gets stupid with shields like the Rerouter or Reogenator.

Your build looks good. This is the level 70 build I use with the Flakker.

Currently doing a little gentle Iwajira farming. So far, only a Hot Hail, but I have got tons of moonstones and completed another couple of BAR challenges, so good enough.

Edit: Ground an Incres’d Zim and a Lobbed Four Seasons from some of the purple drops

Edit 2: and gained 2 levels

Finished NVHM with Fragtrap. Turns out the Flakker is quite good against the Sentinel’s second form…

Decided to take on Iwajira afterwards, and vaulthunter.exe trolled me

Are you sure that it cancels the delay entirely? Because I believe it acts like Grim, Inertia, Quick Charge, Unstoppable Force, (Buck Up? not sure), and (probably) Conduit in that it simply provides regeneration that bypasses the delay. The Bee in BL2 is a great demonstration for the difference between straight shield regeneration and eliminating the delay: These skills recharge the Bee by a negligible amount due to its horrible capacity, but when its long recharge delay is finally over, it combines with the skill’s recharge speed to fill the shield to full at Tediore shield speed. If the skills overrode the delay, it would apply the shield’s own recharge speed instantly, filling it much faster.
In my view, Safety First is simply another skill of this type, just with a more potent regeneration which makes it hard to distinguish from the shield’s own recharge rate.
(Perhaps Blood Soaked Shields, Energize, Discipline, Bottled Courage, Winning, You First, and United Front could be counted as similar skills too, because their instant refills don’t pay attention to the delay either.)

Note: This is just a theory, since I don’t have any recording equipment - checking the exact numbers in slow motion against the shield’s listed recharge speed could be a way to tell which one of our theories is correct. But either way, the substantial effect on survivability makes it a valuable skill.

I have definitely been noticing my shield stay up fighting DoTs so it makes the full shield noise over and over, albeit with a Fast Charge Tediore shield (so it could just be that the shield is doing it)

Managed to get the two co-op .exe modes in Concordia, using grenades to lower health of both, eventually he used Medbot (the last one I needed)

That’s why I said glitched.

Safety Fist

That must be used as the name of someone’s skill in BL3.

Haha, I didn’t notice that until you said

800% critical hit damage on all melee attacks :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, I pulled up good ol’ MPlayer to single-step through a section of the video. It seems to be recorded at 30 fps, so I started at the frame where the shield drops to 1685 (frame 856, about 28.5 seconds into the video), wrote down the numbers until 30 frames later (36218; no sudden drops in shield charge, so you didn’t take more damage; there were many instances of the shield charge staying the same, so the game was running at less than 30 fps). That’s a difference of 34533 shield points. The shield has a capacity of 61190 (including the capacity buffs from skills), as seen on the HUD when it’s full. The effective recharge rate should be 27935 1.15 * due to Wax Off, Wax On (-> 32125), Safety First’s regeneration rate should be 61190 0.025 * -> 1529.
That’s indeed a big gap between the observed 34533 (may vary slightly due to exact timing, the game probably scales the recharge rate by the fluctuating elapsed time between frames to calculate the refill amount from one frame to the next) and the expected 1529. The shield’s own recharge rate doesn’t make up for the entirety of the observed recharge, but the sum of both (33658) get pretty close.

So you were right, it is bugged. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to check it myself :+1: - I tend to be sceptical about alleged bugs, but just in the scientific sense, not as an attack on someone’s reputation.

Yes, a lot of people will call something a bug if they don’t understand it, I know what you mean.
