It’s best to get that achievement with a co-op partner. Each of you take responsibility for two elements. If you can’t get help, find a weapon and/or grenade of each element, and swap between them. A few bullets each, then swap to the next.
You can also use Claptrap’s Rainbow Coolant to do the trick, or if you have a high-leveled Wilhelm, you can spec into Cold War and Vengeance Cannon, then you just need to chuck a corrosive grenade and go to town with a shock weapon. Not too bad there.
My last session had me fire up Jack, and started with me finding a Major Tom in one of the Concordia vending machines. I was about 8k short, so I killed some Darksiders real quick for their money and loot drops to sell. Had some ammo issues with the gun, but man did it kill bad guys quickly. Cruised through the Lazlo missions and Vorago Solitude, had my easiest NVHM fight with RK5 ever (just wailed on it with a blue Hyperion corrosive SMG while my Digi-Jacks took care of all the adds), then cruised through Tycho’s Ribs with only a single death (damn Eternal finished transforming as I was reloading the Major Tom), and then waltzed through Eleseer and the Sentinel. Jack really is easy mode. Also managed to finish up level 4 of Crouch Potato, and discovered that I already have that particular skin unlocked for Aurelia, so this is the last time I have to take that challenge to level 5. Woo!
Anyways, fired up TVHM, got a Nukem off Flame Knuckle, cleaned out Springs’ first couple missions, and called it a night. Not too bad for a single session.
I managed this with Athena fairly easily, given her elemental skills plus weapon plus barrel - took down that extremely large tork in the area immediately after rescuing Gladstone.
I started a Wilhelm on March 13th. As of a couple days ago he’s hit UVHM.
Transferred a spare lv70 Flayer down to him to grind with lower level guns to get an on-level Flayer - ended up with a Bandit grip Texas Flayer with Hyperion stock - very accurate at 44.6 + wilhelm’s accuracy skills. Shock Absorbers, Targeting Scope, and a Mauler COM is my favourite way to play, just dashing around blasting people in the face. Can’t wait till Willy hits 70! Gonna have TONS of fun once I get a Doc’s Flayer! Glitched Coach Guns/Bushwhacks/Quads might also make an appearance, if I can find any.
Rolled the dice and joined the only random game there was on 70 Aurelia. It was actually someone playing with legit gear, we did a bunch of sidequests in Triton.
I was shocked.
Took Jack through Concordia and Crisis Scar, as well as cleaned out a few side missions. The lady was kind enough to let me finish up in Stanton’s Liver before I quit out. No notable loot except a Snake from RedBelly, knocked out a couple challenges though so that was nice.
Finally got Athena through Eleseer in UVHM. Completed Sub-Level 13 and farmed Drongo Bones, then decided to try Invincible Sentinel (bestest story). Oh wow… Ended up opening my game up and had one person drop in, and the two of us finished off the first form and the first phase of the second, but then they left. I managed to get the second phase on my own and had part of shield for the third phase down when two more joined. Managed it, although I died once in the process. That was pretty intense - ran out of ammo a couple of times and had to rummage for something else. Did it though! Felt a little bad for the person who joined just before I hit the fast travel back to Concordia, but that was it for tonight. Still only level 63 though.
Hey, does anyone know why the Sentinel occasionally seems to mutter, “Rule Brittania”? Enquiring minds want to know!
Played on 70 Claptrap for a bit, checked his vault and realized he had a Deadly Bloom shield which turned out to be pretty awesome.
After working through a lot of UVHM with Aurelia, I found myself needing a break from her lack of health replenishment. Frigid Touch and Transfusions work great in mobbing, but fighting some bosses with her can get irritating. Given that I love boss hunting, that is unfortunate.
With that in mind, I have this week to Wilhelm. He was parked at 55, having completed Clappy’s and gotten to Hall of Heroism in the vanilla campaign. Picking up there, I did all of the HoH sides, the Launch Station sides, killed Zarpedon, killed RK5, farmed Iwajira, went back to campaign, and killed the Sentinel. At present, I’m about 1/5 into 58, and a vending machine gave me a Celestial Enforcer, so I’m using the COM and oz kit that I want for endgame. 10/5 Energize is very nice, and I love that it gives better gun flexibility than the Blaster.
Ok, haven’t updated in a week. Gonna try to remember the highlights.
Played some more Wilhelm. Opened my game up. Had a Jack join as I was finishing the Research & Development section. And booted him at first for having a modded Blue Legendary COM. He messaged me and inquired why he’d been booted, and I told him, so he came back with an older (level 40 something) version, so I let him stay. Apparently he didn’t know it was modded, he’d just got it from someone after being leveled. After that, we fought our way to through to Zarpedon. Got a Loaded Blowfly as a world drop along the way. Even has a Dahl grip. Also got a ton from Zarpedon herself. Dropped a head, which I already had, a ZX-1, which I left to him, and a Prismatic Bulwark. I ended the game shortly after we got to Vorago Solitude.
Did some leveling as Athena. Got her up to 63, and decided it was time to get a replacement Hail. And Iwajira has never been so stubborn about dropping one. Oh, he did. It would be 61, same level as the one I had, or on level, but in Corrosive or Cryo, elements which I can’t use as Athena. He even dropped a Striker as a World Drop. I put it away for Jack and Aurelia when I get them to their early 60s. Finally, after I was a quarter of the way past level 64, I got a Fire Hail from him. And that battle got a lot hard after leveling up again. Picked up a new shock Hyperion shotgun along the way, triple barrels. Not great, only blue quality, but better than the 50 Viral Marketeer I’d been using since TVHM.
Also played some Aurelia. Ran around doing a bunch of side quests as her. Got her up to 45. Probably because I was tired, did not sleep well at all this week end, I had a lot of trouble stacking up I Never Miss. Though did finally get back into the groove of it a bit by the end, and got 80 something stacks of it by the time I reach the Titan factory. I knew I didn’t have doing the whole factory in me, so I decided to end the session by taking on Iwajira, just to see how it would go. After all, when you can score Crits, Aurelia has always been the best boss killer for me. It did not go well.
Since the last time I’ve posted:
Came back to my lvl 34 Clappy after taking a break from TPS playing BL2. The break felt good, and using mostly green weapons (Muckamuck, cryo Snider, Coach Gun and a bandit RL) I cleared most of Pity’s Fall. Grabbed a three way hulk at some point. That and Load ‘n’ Splode made quick work of the Bosun.
After that, I did Treasures of ECHO Madre where I died because of a robbed Dahl battleship following me when I thought he wouldn’t, and then I did Rough Love, to unlock Drongo Bones. Level 35.5 at this point.
Afterwards, I farmed Drongo Bones and the badasses that sometimes spawned near him until level 37 (Took a long while) and got 4 Fatales in the way. I grinded the three worse ones and got a Bladed Striker, that’s pretty good with all the crazy reload bonuses on Clappy (Drop the Hammer, Livin’ Near the Edge, Blue Shell on FFYL, etc)
Next, I stormed trough the abandoned Dahl Facilities very easily until Felicity, who I destroyed as well. (It’s worth noting I managed to gain a whole level on the calibrating the turrets for Felicity part, the floor looked as if I had killed Crawmerax 5 times, gained more than a hundred moonstones from that. If there was a Norfleet on this game that could be the new Pyro Pete’s Bar)
I also found a KerBoom on a vendor, but didn’t have the money
Explosive Clappy would have liked that.
Finally, I started the Helios mission, got to Jack’s Office and now I’m trying to get to R&D, on the path there I managed to see my first damage in the Ks
(Around 115K with the Pirate Ship VH.exe to a frozen Dahl Veteran)
Edit: Got to R&D, level 39 3/4, some enemies are level 42
Maybe I could think about doing the CV DLC to gain some levels.
To anybody who’s played Clappy, what builds do you recommend in TVHM?
I reset 70 Athena’s UVHM a while ago and hadn’t finished the Claptastic Voyage yet, so I was gonna work on that. Then a friend sent me an invite so I switched to 70 Aurelia since she was playing Athena. I joined at Home Sweet Home and we marathoned the rest of the main story.
Continued with R&D, right where I left it. Quickly leveled up to 40 (Fighting lvl 42 enemies it wasn’t hard) And fought what felt like a bazillion rabid stalkers. (lvl 43) They were very annoying, but not that dangerous, and also very fun to fight. Still rocking my Fatale and Striker, along with a green Anarchist when pistol subroutine showed its head. [Also very useful in FFYL, with absolutely ludicrous fire rate and reload speed (+100% both from Livin’ Near the Edge, +21% fire rate from my COM,+40% both from Drop the Hammer, +35% both from Blue Shell)]
Decided to do Claptastic Voyage next. However, just before that, I found a purple Maliwan corrosive pistol in a box in Sanctuary. It helped a lot with the many corrosive enemies there. The mobbing in that DLC seemed very easy for some reason, and had a fantastic time with it. Interesting drops were a cryo Tediore glitch pistol and a glitch Hand Cannon (marvellous for Load n’ Spload, with a very fast reload speed) Had a very hard time taking down Shadow-TP, but finally managed after stacking Load n’ Spload with a pretty good green Three Way Hulk that I found. I tried Eclipse for giggles, and got killed even faster than I thought. Yeah, no way I’m doing that boss without some serious preparation.
After that, quickly went through Veins of Helios and called it a day after reaching the Lunar Launching Station. Level 44 now.
I loaded up TPS to get the Spring Time skins unlocked. After loading up Nisha to see what the skin looked like, I decided to create some space in my backpack. Had quite a few green SG to grind in hopes of a 30% to ignore enemy shields Luneshine. Here is what the grinder yielded:
I was so stoked! I finally can stop grinding green shotties. LOL Decided to do a run through hub of hyperionism and capture the footage. I need to figure out how to link stuff in here. I’m going to post the vid in the game play section of this forum. If I knew how, I’d link it so those who want to take a gander can do so with ease.
Edit: Lets see if this links it…
One way is to simply copy the link for your video post from your browser’s URL box and paste it into a reply in the thread you want the link to appear in. If a pasted link is to a post or thread on the forums, the system will add it as a little click-able preview in the resulting post.
Edit: Oh, I see you managed it!
Yah, it wasn’t too difficult. I just have never tried before. But thanks for chiming in. Much appreciated.
I also fired up TPS to unlock the Spring Fling skins (which I somehow already had on 3 characters… skins in this game are wacky), and then decided to continue on with Jack in TVHM. I went ahead and completed Intelligences, along with some side missions, and opened up the way to the Industrial Facility. Jack’s sitting at level 37 now, and with his shiny new Celestial Doppleganger COM, very few things last too long. Looking forward to finishing up Crouch Potato (over 2000 kills now!) so that I can start using some more variety.
Sounds like an Ultima Reference. I don’t know why he would say that. But it’s funny hahaha.
Finished up the Claptastic Voyage with Athena. Got a Thrusting 88 Fragnum from EOS, they really should’ve made it so you only get Claptastic legendaries as drops from him. I feel like 90%+ of my EOS drops have been ones from the main game.
was testing a new build and decided to open my game to randoms. What I’m about to describe is why I typically don’t allow randoms. I am mobbing my way through Pity’s Fall. end up going into FFYL cause I hovered over my own grenade. Pulled out my Kaneda’s laser as my 2nd wind tool(great advice on that thanks to @khimerakiller . Random joins as I just went down. He runs over and takes my 2nd wind kill. And proceeds to jump over me and let me die. I couldn’t believe what I just witnessed. Really?! Went back to Friends only. Man…why do I even bother?
