What did you do in your most recent session, PT2!

That’s what I’m talking about. Reasons are for reasonable people. I had an OP3 ROM, but farmed an OP4 for no good reason. Before that I had a 72. Luckily each time I get one it’s been better than the last. Well, ones with Jakobs grip anyways. I’ve decided that the matching grip is a requirement, otherwise I’m not gonna take it. Not for Deputy duty anyways. The Hyperion grip works well with Zer0 I think. That said, he needs a Jakobs grip…or I just need to get him to OP3 and he can have Sals hand me downs.
Anyways, I decided to test the longevity of the ROM and pulled my 72 out of the bank and ran a couple maps. Killed the Handsome Sorcerer then went into the Lair of Infinate Agony and killed everything on the map. This was at OP4 with a 72 ROM. Quite honestly I couldn’t discern a difference. The 72 performed perfectly well. If it didn’t have that big ugly scope, I don’t think I would know the difference in a double blind test. I did some shooting at the test dummy and the OP4 of course got the higher numbers, but the difference wasn’t near as big as on their cards. Long story short, I really didn’t need to upgrade. So when I get to OP5 will I upgrade my ROM? Probably…for no good reason.

I asked the other day if it was possible to pimp-duuurp Pete. Well, that was a dumb question. Killed him a dozen times and he dropped nothing I wanted.

Other cool stuff…Handsome Sorcerer gave me a matching grip Purple Skookum Calipeen and a Flakker. Have never learned how to use the Flakker, but the guys that like them like them alot so I always keep them. A Tubby gave me a Carnage…and a Bunny. I still have the Carnage. It’s the first 2nd Gen Pearl that I’ve ever gotten.

Taking a break, then I might hit the Peak.

Dahl Commando did some side missions in the Dust, where it was time for some environmental kills.

First: Nuking enemies into these grinders doesn’t always kill them, but it will kill this fella.

Second: The mounts are pretty easily killed by those grinders, but their riders tend to bounce right out from under.

Some people roll the dice for a nice weapon; I roll the dice for a nice barrel lineup. This will destroy this enemy… slag barrel will slag the enemy and pop the fire barrel, which will roast him on his way across the map, with DoT killing him on the way.

I let my turret cover me for a round of Teen Wolf. I’ve sent the Cara Van into enemy territory carrying my turrets with it, but haven’t used them to cover myself.

Unlocked OP5(w\ Sal of course).

Again it took 2 trys. The first one I died in the stage before the assassins even before Mercy spawned. Dumb mistake on my part, got caught in FFYL behind a barrier and couldn’t get a shot at the multitude of enemies just on the other side the barrier.

Did the next run really to test some ideas about eliminating turrets. I was only going to do the first stage but just kept going. (this happens frequently)

Going to resist the urge to farm another ROM(but it could still happen). I might farm a corrosive Pimpernel as it would have come in handy a number of times.

Turrets. So many damn Turrets.

Surprisingly, surveyors have been very manageable with the ROM.
Still haven’t needed to use the Grog, only the Kitten for healing. I suspect that’s going to change in upcoming runs.

Oh, and I did the whole run without sound. Won’t go into details, it’s fixed now, but had no sound which kinda sucked.

Lastly…this guide is a key component in my Peak success thus far:

Getting Zer0 caught up to Sal is going to be a chore!

That is what I was trying for last night. Was going back and forth from Tundra Express - farm house and Caustic Caverns. I had a few UBA varkids, but not Vermi.

Thats rage/quit ■■■■ right there! :unamused:

You on Xbox or PC? I’ve got a 72 zer0 and an OP8 Maya on PC. Wouldn’t mind helping out this week!

As Scooter says, 3rd-degree burns are best taken in shifts.

And yeah, I about quit at that point - it was cool just to get her to spawn, but there were 2 other ultimate badasses and a horde of regular badasses, and she despawned while I was running for my life. I ended up surviving, but too late. I gave it a few more shots after that, and got lucky again.

It’s kind of fun in that spot in the Caverns. You get into a routine. Quick spawn, quick check - like others have said, you get a feel pretty quick for when you have a real shot at spawning her. If you have multiple regular badasses running around for more than a minute or so without morphing, you’re probably out of luck and it saves time to just start over. But the two times she spawned for me, I had multiple super badass pods morphing at once along with the regulars, within just a few minutes of game time.

I appreciate the offer…but I’m tackling her solo.

I’m no stranger to Vermi. That elusive bitch. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

edit: I’ve been around the block once or twice… :smirk:

That guide is the whole reason I set foot on the Peak in the first place, and instrumental in all of my adventures there. Before reading through that I was downright afraid of the Peak, but afterward I was interested in seeing it for myself. The breakdown is so thorough and clear that it makes some very challenging end game content very approachable. I still reread it often.

Yes, it took me quite a while before I would attempt it also. Somebody mentioned that OP0 to OP1 wasn’t really that bad so I tried it and just kept going. Then I started playing Sal. If anyone is gonna make it to OP8 with me as the pilot, it’s Sal. But I have big plans for Zer0 next.

As much as the guide has been a great help I also have to say all the awesome ppl in this forum also get a huge chunk of credit. Including yourself. I’ve done A LOT of reading and that includes your thread of your initial climb to OP8.

I initially came to this forum because I was apprehensive about starting UVHM.

The OP4 turret run was a huge stumbling block for many of my characters. Their regen rates are mind boggling. I’ve had them regen through the damage I was pumping out - mainly because I hadn’t slagged them.

The real bitch ones are in the ramparts that divide the Scorch area from the D’s Ma area - defended by surveyors - nothing for it but to snipe them with a Bee-buffed Pimp or SandHawk.

Your Sal should have a much better time over the next few rounds. Have a Lady Fist of any kind/level on hand for D’s Ma and the Scorches.

Have a good singularity grenade for the Assassins - especially on the OP7=>OP8 run when they spawn all together.

I’ve never properly fought Dukinos mom, her and the Saturns are where I think I’ll have the most trouble.

There’s always the Duuurp buffed Pimp, but I’m gonna to try to avoid that.

Got that covered. I’ve been using the LF pretty regularly as of late.

Will a 72 Quasar suffice? I have a higher level slag singularity also…

I used my level ~21 for my Zer0’s Peak climb - so definitely. It will have better pulling power than the slag singularity. It’s not so much its ability to cluster them - it’s throwing them off-balance.

You gonna make me blush. But you’re right. The people here get credit in all of my triumphs. My favorite thing about this forum is that we all come here, share, and learn from each other’s successes and failures. As for D’s mom, Deputy Sal laughs at her. Even with my OP4 ROM she went down real quick. Of course, I was holding a Grog and using Storm Front nades for the healz. Saturn was the first thing I was afraid of. Between Flakker+Nuke Em and Pimperdurping it just kind of falls over.

OT: SaVladof Bandi got to Sanctuary, and knocked out all of the sides available before Hunting the Firehawk. Level 11 rocking a War Dog com, about to head over to Frostburn.

Finally brought Faraday Gaige into TVHM. Since I mainly use Sal, it always takes me a bit to remember I can actually use gun sight on other characters. Farmed Knuckle Dragger for a while but no Hornet. I don’t remember ever getting a Hornet from her in any of my playthrough.

Brought out Call Me Sal to see if I can get myself a sight-less ROM, even though I don’t really need one. Couple ROMs popped up but both with a sight (not to mention the wrong grip). May try it again tonight though I really should continue with the Tiny Tina DLC so I can look for OP8 Chain Lightnight.

I’ve been saying for a while that Maya needs to pick up the Twister finally. Honestly I can’t remember letting her use it, which doesn’t sound right. Anyways.

Kali happened to have the same batch of Oasis missions open as Krieg had, so I :

…all with the Twister.

I used the Siren COM - mostly to get 6/5 in Accelerate. Otherwise I ran with a no-TL Sub-Sequence build, and wow was that a dramatically different experience. Everything works in her favour : Wreck, Reaper, Accelerate, Inertia, Chain Reaction, Converge, Foresight. I can safely say she will continue to use this gun.

Zer0 is up next. Leg Killer seems the obvious choice, but I’m thinking the Leg Sniper might be better.

Edit : both are good but the Killer comes out on top. 0ri0n ran the Caustic Caverns for the Dahlminator and the Twister was exceptional. Watched this for a while

but nothing came of it.

I tried to farm the Twister from OOO using the totems to summon Dexy and his preliminary waves of minions, got not one but two OOO’s to spawn back to back, and neither dropped the goods.

So then Dexy walks in, and an hour later he’s finally dead. And that is when I realize that the Twister was added to his drop pool with the UCP. Lol

And yeah, Maya loves her Twister. It’s worth the farm for her, with all her skill synergies.

That was actually the same day I finally got a Cobra to drop. My luck, like bananas, comes in bunches. But I haven’t done much with either gun since then, because that was the day before I had hand surgery. And now that I’m back I’ve been on a Zer0 kick.

And those ultimate badass varkids are quite majestic aren’t they? The young’uns can be annoying, but I kinda love what they did with the the varkids as an enemy class, with the evolution and such. Pretty cool, and also rewarding of your patience.

I started off the night with Mydahl, farminig for a max stat BoA incendiary element. no luck on that end tonight. Decided to pick up the Vermi spawning again. Went to Caustic Caverns…

Thats when a Tubby Varkid showed up to give me my first OP8 Bekah on PC. Stoked to get it. too bad its not matching grip. I’ll keep it till a matching grip version drops.

I was happy to see that its OP8 upon checking the card…

picked this up in case someone wants it. @Jefe ?

This is the shack i chill in while the enemy aggros themselves. I’m typically ok in this spot with the occasional Adult Varkid or Badass spitting at me.

And here comes Vermi! :star_struck:

Nice. I was hoping for a head or skin. Going for them all.

The other UBA that didn’t spawn into Vermi left me this…

I’m holding this for who ever wants it.

All and all, I had a great and productive night. the night is still young. time for more whimsy and murder on Pandora.

@Kurtdawg13 pinged me to tell me he graciously had a couple things for me (see above ) which I graciously accepted. Then we headed to Caustic Caverns again to try for a Vermi.

The first area didn’t yield anything so we ripped around the map and ended up in the area Minecart Mischief wraps up. Kurt had to take a break so I hung out in a hallway agro-ing the varkids from a safe spot.

Kurt came back and I announced her arrival.
So here’s the funny thing : this is the second time I’ve ever seen Vermi and the first time doesn’t count because I didn’t realize she spawned and she one-shot me dead.

It took…forever…and all my pistol ammo. But we got her! And a soldier head. I forgot to snap a pic of it on the ground, but here’s the Nu-Me :

Thanks Kurt! That was pretty damn cool.

After I that I took HoytAxton to the Wedding Day Massacre to take the Twister for a spin. I wanted to max out Battlefront and Steady for grenade damage so used a Double Nuke / Leg Ranger shock build.
Oh yes. Very nice.

Or get in close, hug the wall and toss Homing Storm Fronts at them- that will also draw out the surveyors, allowing you to kill two birds with one grenade, as it were. And if you’ve a Tiny Tina grenade mod to regen them it shouldn’t be long before you’re facing the dual Scorches… As for Dukino’s Mom: corrosive Infinity +proper pacing = victory. It won’t be very exciting but it’s damn effective. Scorch/es: Storm Fronts + the bottleneck between the first area and the next- get him stuck there, paint him purple and unload every grenade with a shock BotA and your best weapon+Moxxie gun on hand. If it’s Scorch w/surveyors draw the surveyors away first and kill them- that fight is made far more difficult if even 1 of them is around so make them your top priority.

That is an awesome night. Nice Bekah!

And yeah, I misread your earlier comment about Vermy in my excitement from spawning her for the first time. Most of y’all have probably been at this longer than I have. :metal::metal:

Random things:

No picture, but Maliwan Mechromancer was slugging it out with Pyro Pete and picked up some DoT early. Deathtrap basically kept it off me between spawns (Legendary Roboteer with a Bone relic, so fast cooldown) using Buck Up, so I could basically ignore it. Eventually I took a big dent in my shield and I had to wash it off during a cooldown before it got to my health bar, but still.

The mimic party after the Ancient Dragons: went after them with a Flame of the Firehawk shield, full points in Blood Soaked Shields and Unstoppable Force with a Moxxi weapon (Good Touch), and let them beat themselves to death on me.

I met with Roland while in Decepti0n, and when I came out, his head was stuck pointing at where I was.
Roland

Ever get a Second Wind the exact same moment you enter Fight For Your Life, like it’s so fast you don’t even lose momentum from a jump? My shield depletion animation is still starting here.

I never knew I could get these fellas to fight each other. I’m in TVHM here… I also forgot how it was possible for any enemies in a fight to actually have a victor. In UVHM, unless I help or there’s a huge level/damage discrepancy, infighting basically lasts forever.
