Haha, I made it this time, with Hail + Storm Front + more careful pacing :stuck_out_tongue:

Decided to help out Lord of Death by having my Siren Dee Lightful fill in his weapon upgrades. Not much luck from the loot train, WEP LLM, Lair of Infinite Agony, Dragon Tower, Bloodshot Stronghold or the Dust- only got an on level Fire Storm (which she kept for herself) and an OP7 Cuting Slagga, which will replace LoD’s OP6 Murdering Slagga. I did notice that while Dee had Mr. Torgue and Tiny Tina’s DLC completed she had yet to do Sir Hammerlock’s or Capt Scarlet, so she is now in the process of dashboard farming a ROM  (I also figure that a Sand Hawk and Pimpernel might come in handy for LoD, should he need it). Big Salle, my normal mule, has now reached Sawtooth Cauldron and picked up a couple of legendary weapons that he can use himself, including a Madhous! (yeah, he’s desperate )

Edit: general question- do all rocket launchers deal pure splash damage? Just wondering as I used an explosive Mongol to take out BA Rex with Deee Lightful- Cloud Kill was working but even with the use of a Longbow Pandemic the going was slow as heck…

Quasar >>>>> Storm Front :stuck_out_tongue:

It depends on the situation, really. The Storm Front is a far better killing tool and Bloodlust stacking device while the Quasar is an awesome utility grenade but not nearly as good as the Storm Front to actually kill stuff.

So one is good at one thing, the other is good at that thing too as well as something else…

One is EXTREMELY good at dealing damage (as Grenade Axton : throw your Turret and chuck some Storm Fronts at Double Scorch in the Digistruct Peak, and watch them melt), the other is more of a utility grenade and does significantly less damage.

NO ONE TALKS ā– ā– ā– ā–  ABOUT THE STORM FRONT ! :anger:

I just did, bruh…

(i’m joking. If you noticed I was speaking to someone using Maya, and for me it’s no contest on her between them, Quasar wins).

I like both but each are better depending on character

Yeah that’s undeniable though, Quasar is imo Maya’s best grenade option.

I use Storm Front + Moxxi guns during boss fights when Phaselock / Life Tap is not available. Otherwise Quasar is the default.

Here’s the video of my first successful fight with Dukino’s Mom. This run was interrupted midway (supper time ), so I only kept the important part:

If you used a Quasar instead of a Storm Front to group the enemies in front of your turrets, wouldn’t you get more damage output from the shared splash from the rockets and from less time spent re-acquiring the subsequent targets (plus splash from whatever you also threw at them would also be shared among the crowd)?

In the interest of gear debates (because it is the bread and butter of this forum), I’ll make an argument that the Fastball is one of Maya’s best grenade options. Converge (especially with Sub Sequence and Thoughtlock) will generally bundle the enemies up close enough that the damage from a single Fastball can hit (and kill) everything in that convergence. My Tediore Siren is actually built like this, and I’m loathe to use the Fastball because it ends the Thoughtlock/Sub Sequence/Ruin/Converge/Chain Reaction/Wreck/Elated/Sweet Release/Life Tap game mechanic instantly, and I prefer to watch it play out over several seconds.

Fastballs seem like they’re often used for individual enemies, but there is a damage radius to it, however small. If you can get enemies close enough together, they’ll all eat it. Maya is the only Vault Hunter that I know of who can draw enemies together for this by way of her skills.

Not really, Axton’s turrets don’t do that much Damage. Quasar has the perks of saving you a lot of trouble through pulling enemies (and even then, usually enemies are going to focus on your Turret if you’re playing as Axton) but damage-wise the Storm Front surpasses the Quasar + Rockets because of the higer Tesla count, longer duration and more explosions at the end.

This.

This is good to know… I don’t believe in my x-thousand hours of playing that I’ve ever had a single character carry them both to compare.

How does the Storm Front compare to a regular Tesla grenade along these dimensions?

It’s better in every way : higher Damage from one Tesla and you get the extra other Teslas. I haven’t checked DOT though but I’m pretty sure there’s no increase except for the higher chance to apply one since you have a total of 6 Teslas.

Jakobs Assassin went to the Mines of Avarice and picked up the Claptrap’s Apprentice mission.

I’m curious what sort of enemy types the brooms are. Also, in UVHM, while the brooms are stuck waiting for Claptrap to try his hand at another spell, their health regeneration is active. If you’re far enough away, they’ll line up on their way to you, so B0re will wreck the new ones. Fun little mission.

I also killed a Duke of Orc with the Greed. Took a while (and he did eat some Unf0rseen and Kunai in the meantime), but I did want to roast him.

All you melee masters out there may be interested in this. I think it’s a great idea.

So, a couple of hours ago I was going to try a Vora kill for the ultimate badass challenge. I pick up my low level droog, white turtle + survivor COM and head to Candlecrags. It’s been ages since I’ve been here so I got lost and when I wondered where I am I realized I’m on Rouge’s plateau. Onwards towards Vora’s gate at which I had to spend ages trying to off the Scaylions because I didn’t realize to bring a Bee and I don’t have Kunai’s because of the chellenge and it was just slow and painful. I get the Scaylion stuck and… I forgot my stockpile relic. Well, I just thought I’ll do it later and bring it because it makes it a bit more tolerable.

So now I tried again. This time I got lost in a different point and instead of heading to the long bridge I ended up running another path back towards the exit. I get to Vora’s lair. No problems with Scaylions this time except the one I’d need to get stuck. I was about to give up when it finally decided to lodge itself in. I start stacking. I jump off the cliff and oh right, for whatever reason falling off here doesn’t give you ammo. So I backtrack to the vending machines and buy a fire grenade for the suicides and now I can’t buy enough ammo to fill myself up because I’m broke as hell (I haven’t sold anything in ages). So I say goodbye to my Ahab to afford the ammunition and start stacking up. I get up to 400+ stacks. I pick up my relic and shield and COM. I notice I didn’t open the gate beforehand so a little loss to the stackpile there but oh well. So I pull the lever.

…The goddamn door doesn’t open! I have not picked up the damn Vora quest after my last campaign reset! All I can say is jfdksƤlaƶfdjkaƶlƤfjsƤkldaƶfhlƤkƶsjdafhƶl
