Something I forgot to mention and it was a true first for me. In Highlands-Extraction plant. Managed to “save the bridge” So I saved numerous minutes! Kill the Super Badass Loader… No sign of the Constructor… Looked at objectives…!! Forgot to try using the %$/%?$? Fast Travel machine!
Ran back…
The Gluttonous Thresher was a pain. A real pain. I hate that thing.
Found a new (for me) strategy for that, playing as Axton:
- Run straight from the container storage thing to the beacon,
- Drop turret in front of thresher and run to right side
- Gives a good angle to hit crit spots on head and tentacles while turret takes aggro
- Loaders spawn in and approach from left
- Loaders will now be more or less where your turret is/was, taking aggro
- If necessary, deke around the crates to the right and shoot the sucker in the back while it continues to flail at the loaders
Make sense now that I think of it. Instead of trying to back off and getting killed in the process.
Just like you charge Big Bertha on your left instead of trying to find cover…
hmmm
That’s B’n’B’s gun, right? I’ve taken to standing my ground behind the funnel between the gun and the elevator - there’s enough wall/funnel there to block most of the rounds, you can duck behind the funnel when you need to reload, and you have a good line-of-sight to lay waste between rounds for Big Bertha. This also means that you can deal with Bewm without exposing yourself to Big Bertha’s rounds.
Sounds good. The thing with dashing on your left side. (The gun’s right.) Is it take longer to turn and your not exposed or have to find cover, pop out, cover again… Buying you enough time to kill it before it can fire once. Provided you have at least half decent gear of course. With a good setup it’s a joke.
I learned that watching MoLMF. … Where credits is due…
Today Axton:
- Saw the Bunker and Roland die. Mourned for neither.
- Killed Boll a few times with an Unkempt Harold, and Savage Lee with a Fastball. Heh heh.
- Got a Legendary Soldier mod off of the loot train. Nice.
- Avenged Bloodwing. LLMs coughed up some Bones and Skins. Gross.
- Made it to level 67 and 100K BAR.
Fire plasma casters are wondrous things in Axton’s hands. The Hornet is likewise for corrosive needs. Now all I need is a good shock weapon and I’ll be in excellent shape.
Gaige vs Master gee OP8
Level 72 and OP8 raiding journey with all characters came down to only 3 raids remaining ( gaige vs vora and melee zero vs vora and the dragons). These remaining 3 will not be easy. But I am a vault hunter so anything is possible.

Dude @nat_zero_six you need to teach me your ways. All these raid kills are just ridiculous. Seriously man, keep it up. The other night @Sun_Tsunami and I were talking about doing some raiding once we get to OP8 and we mentioned how we both sucked but aspire to be as good as you
I just love raiding and also crazy enough to take on all raid bosses with all characters. I also pack a lot of patience taking one raid boss at a time. Usually the battle is half won by formulating a strategy doing research and watching gameplays, and it is just a matter of executing it.

I will look forward to your Maya and Sun’s Krieg coop raid kills.

Hanks been doing a little OOO farming. Three spawns to date and not even a seraph yet😭. But we press on!!
Edit: On the fourth spawn he dropped me my first twister! No prefix and bandit stock, but I got the drop so I don’t care right now!!
The dice threw Maliwan Mechromancer at Ardorton Station today so she knocked out those map challenges.
Buck Up vs some Witch Doctors; that Witch Doctor stayed in bat form for quite some time. Deathtrap can keep up with this without too much trouble:
Deathtrap can’t keep up with a shock attack:
The good: Axton got an Impaler from a random Scavenger, a corrosive Badaboom from King Mong, and a Hornet from you know who. Looks like somebody in the RNG office wants me to go corrosive for a while. He also made it to 68.
The bad: $22M in New-U fees, mostly because of …
The ugly: Toil and Trouble. Wave after wave of Juggernauts, Heavy Nomads, and Goliath Blasters. Seven LLMs that I didn’t really want and that didn’t drop anything good. Ammo was low all the time. I got hung up on protruding bolts or something several times in dire circumstances. All in all it was a tooth-grinding hour and a quarter. But it’s behind me now, woohoo! The Arid Nexus awaits, maybe with a Bee in its hand.
There was much Krieg talk today, and one of the topics was Hellborn as a starting tree. It’s always been an idea that’s gotten shot down, but since Beelzebubba was at 35, it seemed perfectly safe to try. I managed to get him from 35 to 38 with this :
Purple Razed Toast , tesla ( although like an idiot I forgot I had a decent level 30 fire Leech ), adaptive shield, Rubi, fire TMP, fire Bandit shottie, shock Maliwan SMG.
It took a while to get the hang of it, but eventually I just started mowing. Raving Retribution is pretty damn powerful at this level and pretty damn fun too. I almost took Halitosis
( I wonder if it can proc Fire Fiend? ).
Most of the XP came from the TMNRats, who gave something like 4500 each and finally coughed this up :
He just finished off Wilhelm and is about to get ousted from Sanctuary for being the “cause” of its shield “challenges” ( they’re not “problems”, they’re “challenges”
).
Funny that you mention the TMNT rats because I was just farming XP last night trying to know out the last 4 level in mine and @Sun_Tsunami run to OP8 and was appalled at how much XP they gave when paired with Moxxi’s Endowment. Screw Bad Maw, TMNT rats is where it’s at!
I took this during NVHM. Didn’t regret it until late TVHM - not much help against a bunch of loaders and shielded enemies. I’m actually surprised more folks don’t start down the right side first, but maybe that’s because they get hung up thinking about end-game meta?
I think it’s more the lack of enough health to offset the self inflicted fire damage- a Pain Meat class mod would help negate that if you were lucky enough to find one, but other than that…
I honestly don’t remember that being an issue through NVHM, and shooting flaming fireballs at targets never got old. Scaling is a bit of an issue though!
Dahl Commando went to the End of the Line for a quick bout against Wilhelm for breakfast.
If he was still packing Wolf and Saint, this fight might have gone very differently… be neat to have a backstory for those fellas. One grows attached to them after playing Wilhelm for a while. I like how his death is both shock and blood.
After his death, I had these Surveyors to deal with. This first Nuke popped their shields, so they threw their reflectors up. The second Nuke popped two when it exploded behind them. The third almost killed me when my Railer shot healthgated me (thought it would penetrate that shield). Even my turrets fire will be reflected back at it, and I’ll see little shots popping off the Phalanx shield.
Are you saying that Axton is the key to defeating Thanos and saving the universe?!
This is quite possibly my favorite status update of all time. Despite the lack of words, I was able to follow exactly what you did in your play session. Well done, good sir.
OT: Dahla Dahla Bill hit the Dust farm for the last time in NVHM. Went from 30 to 33 just killing Mobley. I picked up an incendiary Gwen’s Head, which will be my go to for most of the Arid Nexus, and Twin Gwen’s Head (NE), which will fulfill my close-quarters needs, a shock Veruc, and a NE Veruc. So, as you can see, I am once again waiting on my corrosive gear. Going into Hero’s Pass with a level 25 corrosive Veruc as my only option just doesn’t seem like a smart plan to me.
I really, really love that name. I wish I could come up with names like that, I always just name my characters different swear words
