What did you do today in Battleborn

Finally realised I’d sat and looked at that giant update to sell me skins too long, so I deleted Battleborn…

Tried queuing for Bots, but no luck so I did private Algorithm and cleared the final lore challenge for Shaurox (sure rocks!). Got in one Bots Battle after that but two of the group left immediately after the match and no luck getting another team before having to head out. XB1 is looking pretty thin on the ground now.

Just did 3 OPs with full teams then Archive with a full team, good times.

Yeah. The land of the Xbox is pretty barren these days. Sucks.

Continue to power spam all the ops missions solo. Missing 6 from Toby, 3 from Oscar and working on wrapping up Montana and the Demon Bear soonish. Might recruit someone to carry my Miko and Kleese through the Ops sometime

If yur on Steam: Wisecarver

Ps4 appreciate the offer though.

Well, things looking up tonight. I managed to get multiple matches in on XB1, even though there were some oddities along the way. Finally dinged command rank 150, moved Attikus up the character rank and unlocked the first couple of lore entries.

Odd thing though: when I went through my other characters, I discovered that I still had some flying time to complete with Benedict. This is really odd, because I swear I had unlocked that already.

In no order:

  • bought some platinum (I know)
  • bought some magnus loot packs (I know, I know…); actually got some extra colors from some packs
  • discovered that you can get extra taunts and colors from magnus packs (I pulled Toby’s “Wingman” color and Benedicts “Friendly Skies” taunt)
  • played some Bots Battle; got sad
  • played some Story, and got no legendaries; got sad again

So, uh… yeah.

That’s all you need to find happiness.

Ran Attikus through Void’s Edge and Helophage in search of lore challenge completion. Got everything except (frustratingly enough) the “critical hit on Rendain” one. :blrage:

Before I plunge back in again, someone please confirm for me: I’m supposed to fully charge my alt attack (LT on console, bar on the left besides the health and shield display) and smash Rendain in his smugly face, correct? The critical hit location isn’t something daft and Fable-ish like, oh say, the groin?

You don’t have to fully charge the punch, and the ‘aim’ on it can be a little shaky – IIRC, you get better results aiming either just above or below the face, I can’t remember which (I think below). And remember that because it’s a crit, you have to do it when he has no shield; in other words, after you beat the other bosses presented to you.

Good to know - that makes it a little easier, since more chances. Presumably as long as you’ve got at least 1 bar on the indicator?

Thanks. I did find a video in which it was one of the first things done, so I’ll re-watch that and check placement. Also, I think I’d better practice aiming on my way to the final showdown, since I’m not yet that good at reliably landing melee crits - much better at just blowing stuff up :dukesad:

Unless it was patched (doubt it): After you break his shield after phase 1 and just before the cutscene starts, you can get some free hits in while Rendain is stunned. Won’t do damage, but they counted for the challenge when I did the 12 crits on him ages ago.

I think so? It’s been a little while since I did it, I’m pretty sure I just spammed it as best I could.

That is correct, it won’t work the first time you fight him, has to be the last part.

No shield being the key bit, correct?

It did work for me in that few frames before the cutscene of the boss rush (usually got 1 or 2 hits in). But as I said: I did that before the lore challenges were changed, might be different now.

Shield has to be gone, yes.

If you haven’t there’s a glitch that I don’t believe was ever patched. On Renegade, during second power transfer, before defending Caldarius, you can alternate between the jump pads, holding down glide and for some reason it accelerates flight time (used this exploit when the challenge was 4 hours, not 1)
