I agree with @wrriddle - I think you probably were so focussed on the game you missed the call. Also remember that surrender calls can be made earlier if there have been disconnections.

My own recent experiences with this have been mixed, but without losses. EG I find myself on Monuments with a team entirely level 10 and under. Dude playing Toby disconnects. There’s a party of two who have a traffic light thing going on with their connection (red-yellow-green) and then another dude running OM. Thanks goodness for the OM, because we lost the pair for several minutes at one point. And I hadn’t been going to pick Montana at all - was originally intending to try El Dragon!

The other thing I’m seeing is instant player disconnects as soon as the full team is formed and the player levels revealed. Always one player who disconnects and, when we manage to secure a 5-man again, it’s revealed that the disconnecting player is often a higher CR one. Me, I just stick it out regardless. Had a couple of close calls on capture (and one defeat) with people chasing kills while all the collectors are bot-controlled, but mostly it’s actually been good fun.

Ended up running Pendles on the last two nights, which is really fun in Bots Battle. I can see why it might be more… challenging against a 5-man that knew what they were doing though. Snake is squishy!

You are excused.

Somehow it gives me a little confidence in myself when some people start screaming “hax” while watching me play. Should’ve sent them a link to one of my PvP matches …

Last time I was called a cheater before was a few weeks after release: Ambra was still in her darkest time, nobody played her, nobody knew about her mutations and I was promised by someone that Valve will give me a VAC ban and lock my account in a few days, because she can’t shoot, I’m cheating and they already reported me!

With the restriction of Bots Battle lifted, yeah, I can say I’ve been seeing some more interesting matches that will make me put in more effort.

Especially when your teammates are constantly feeding to double digits.

In a real PvP game, it would’ve snowballed out of control within 5 minutes given the contrast of level strength. Bots, for the time being, don’t fully capitalize on their advantage, but feeding for another 5 minutes and the disadvantage would be irreversible.

For me, it’s kinda fun, given that I’m facing bots at level 6 or higher more frequently.

And it’s always hilarious watching Bot Galilea slaughtering my teammates, each time more brutal than the last.

If this wasn’t Bots Battle, these players would have quit and never come back.

Glad to hear there are so many low cr players. Sounds like merging the bots battle queues was a good idea! Cool.

Added you to the list of people I promised to send a friend request. Only CR 3 on PS4 yet and I’m not ready yet to show the world what a disgrace my gameplay is when I don’t have keyboard and mouse …

Got another head scratchier today, killed the Defiler then after it died it killed me(Full health):

Do defilers throw out those sap orbs (that look a bit like BL2 slag)? I know you can toggle that display to show what effects were involved in the hit, so if it happens again you might want to check (and screen grab) that as well.

You can’t toggle in PvE in my experience.

After a long pause I am returning to Solus. Geez, I missed this game.

…Correct.
btw, there was no visible circle of orb. It was running downhill, I got an Event placed and one Sun.

Trolled a Beatrix that was bugging me.

And got another one of those “killed a cloaked enemy with Orendi’s ult” that feels so good.

I didn’t even see he was in the sunspot trail until after, just took a wild guess at where he’d be.

Yesterday I played my first two PVP matches in over a year.
First one: got lucky, paired up with a 4-man all in the 100s against a team of mostly mid levels (40-80) randoms. I expected a stomp but they did pretty good, an enjoyable match even though we clearly had an advantage.

Then came the nightmare: still teamed with the same 4 guys, we stumble across a streamer I watch from time to time and his buddies (not sure if they were a full 5-man but I recognized a few names from his streams). I knew this one would be hard fought but I felt good about my last performance with Kleese so I picked him again.
All characters selected, enemy team revealed, I started to cry; WF, Marquis and Thorn… I couldn’t do anything, a big baloon floating around Overgrowth that would get popped as soon as it showed itself. My team also seemed to have lost any kind of coordination.
That one wasn’t really enjoyable.

Not sure if I’m made for this PvP stuff.

Let me forward a few things to you, many people have told me by now when I’ve gotten one of my “I’m too stupid for this game”-phases.

It’s not always your fault. It’s a team game and there are many factors that decide over a win or loss and even how your stats on the scoreboard look like. Don’t focus too much on yourself. Of course, find and eliminate dumb mistakes you made, but also learn to find things that only were a side effect of other people doing silly things. Learn to see the big picture.

You already said that you’ve had a pretty bad matchup for a Kleese and your team didn’t work with each other. Those games happen to everyone, no one could’ve done anything of value here. Forget that game and move on, build up on the successful experience before.

I’ve played a game with Deande a while ago, pretty good players on both teams and I had a depressing 2-12 on the scoreboard afterwards and was pretty crushed because of that. I’ve chatted with one of my “enemies” the day after and when I complained about my scrublike game, I got the simple response that I should just forget that scoreboard, because it isn’t really telling what really has happened and that I was the only player on my team he could not complain about. I was told that I just tried to achieve the impossible and carry a team that didn’t accept the offer and left me alone with doing everything from wave clear to player interactions. You can’t die when you treat your assassin as girl for everything and not participate until you are dived by the enemy.

Stuff like this is a pretty common theme in most games I played and became frustrated with.

  • I mess up a draft, play Shayne, go very negative on the scoreboard, I’m frustrated and someone who watched from the outside tells me: “Your Shayne wasn’t actually bad, the draft broke your neck, but you noticed that yourself before the match even started. Just forget it, happened to me too.”
  • I’m forced into Phoebe on Overgrowth, get tunnel vision and become frustrated about my game and one of my teammates sends me a message afterwards that I should please remember that she is one of the most difficult characters for Incursion, that I didn’t really play her bad and that I have contributed much more than some others in that game.

Don’t make the same mistakes as me. Some things just happen and you can’t do anything about it.

Went to school, played Witcher 3 and Dishonored 2.

Wanted to play last night, but came home to find myself displaced by my daughter who was inching her way through the final throes of Dragon Age 2 Act 2. I was able to give her enough general tips and pointers to get her through the boss fight at the end without having played the game myself; I am going to attribute this to playing melee characters in Battleborn. :crossed_swords:

@VaultHunter101

That game took a beating review wise but I thoroughly enjoyed it !

Same could be said of Battleborn, really. I’m looking forward to giving it a try, but I want to finish DA:Awakening first.

I do not in anyway regret the 14 months and 1600 hours I put into Battleborn, but, I’ve been having sooooo much fun with other games since I stopped playing.
