What gear would you like to see on support?

I’ve fallen in love with Reyna recently and was wondering if there are any special legendaries I should be running with that could help a whole team out. I got the vigilance link which give +150 health to each team member. Unfortunately I don’t love her lore legendary so I’m wondering what else there is.

So: is there anything you see as necessary on a support character? Does it vary between them (alani, ambra, miko, etc)?

A solar sustainer is never a bad choice. It increases your heal power whilst buffing yourself and any ally you heal.

For sustain the void resonator works for Reyna, kleese and Ambra due to the awesome self heal as the third effect. Also works for Miko and Alani but they don’t benefit from the decreased shield recharge delay

In terms of legendaries I use these 2 (not together of course) almost every time I play a support which is 95% of the time haha

Firmware update should be far more viable now that the chance to cooldown proc has been upped from 7% to 20%. Otherwise I just run +heals, shard gen and buildable gear. Hang out the back and build behind your team, throwing out as many overshields with bonus shield and health helix upgrades makes for great support. Some prefer to play her offensively and go with attack speed/dmg but you’d have to get their advice on an offense build

On Reyna I like skill cooldown (my experience with her so far is just PvE, btw). She can’t stream heal like Miko, so anything that gives cooldown helps her a lot. I always take the +health helix too, so a +healing given item should be good.

Skill damage doesn’t do anything for her aside from the initial impact of her Priority Target.

Someone would need to confirm this for me, but iirc +shield items also make her failsafe shield bigger, so more survivability for you.

since all of the support can heal, (some through helix) a piece of heal power gear is a nice touch, however i noticed since the up date kleese’s healing chair heals noticibly lower so maybe not on him. Solar sustainer is really good if you can get it. If your going for staright support, a shard gen and wrench gear can help with buildables to give your team an edge.

Like to run Attack Speed and Heal Power to go with her legendary end game you can heal your mate 250 each hit 3 times per seconds
On aggressive reyna i run her legendary, vow of zealous fury and symbiotic gauntlet…

Solar Sustainer for all support is pretty good
The Modernista : 20% chance to reflect hit on your shield… works really well on reyna as you often have your shield up
Symbiotic Gauntlet : is good on support as you are full life almost all the time and if you like to play aggressive (really good on a miko)

I like the Modernista, 20% chance to reflect with shield, and reyna is a lot of shield. Survivability is good, i grabbed the shard sharing legendary with her

Solar sustainer is your best bet.

She is by far my favorite support character. I have master of her and Miko but sometimes use different gear for each.
On Reyna there’s 2 loadouts depending on the team we’re going against:
(Against full pre-made)

  1. +14% heal + +7% after 180 seconds survival
  2. 7hp regen + 4.2 after 180 seconds survival
  3. -12% (I think) CC and +6.5% heal
    This has won me 68 out of the 75 pvp matches I’ve played as Reyna (which is FAR ahead of any other hero I play) because for the most part, I never die. I play full on support. If I do get a little low on HP, with 11.2 per second regen + the heal I get from shielding I never have to return to base and I can stay reasonably close to the action until my health pool is about 50-75%.
    The -CC is nice but I mainly chose it for the additional heal. And +26.5% to your heals goes a long way with how often you’re popping OS.

(against less organized teams or newbies)

  1. 0 cost shard generator
  2. -21% build
  3. either +heal white gear or whatever I feel like putting here.
    I use this to get elite bots on first waves or throw up buildables. Weaker in healing but survival is subjective as I’m normally 2 levels ahead of the curve mid-game due to kills/assists/build/minion xp.

I like both these loadouts as well for the shard cost. Obviously the 2nd one needs no explaining as I have all my gear up by minute 2 or 3.
The first loadout is nice because total shard cost is around 3000 and for those stats it’s quite the bargain. You’ll have all 3 pieces of gear before your team mates would have 2 legendaries. Or all 3 before they have any if you’re a shard whore.

For the most part though, there’s 2 things you should use on supports.

  1. Anything that keeps you alive as you do 0 healing while dead.
  2. Anything that suits your play style so you’re at least having fun keeping your team mates alive!

Where does one get a solar sustainer. I swear I’ve opened hundreds of Jennerit packs now and nothing.

They should create debut gear, things like at a certain health threshold enemies within a certain amount of units get there attack speed reduced, or movement speed etc.

I don’t run legendaries on her. I run a Green eldrid cooldown, a purple eldrid soda bottle and purple rogue boots. The stacked move speed and sprint speed I feel work for her in order to catch up to teammates and run from danger.

Firmware update on Reyna with the 15% increased cooldown helix is soooo good. I used it before the Firmware was buffed and I loved it. You will be amazed at how often you can use your abilities, which make the Firmware even better.

Is her legendary underrated ???

Because i don’t see much Reyna with it… and it’s maybe the best character legendary.
You can heal a Montana or Kelvin from 1% to full life in less than 4sec with it, better than a Miko or Alani heal.

A bit hard to use but really powerfull

But if you use her legendary you need to build around it and it becomes more gimmicky than useful if you have smaller team mates. One helix you shouldn’t take is the homing shots for the pulse cannon, because you will almost never hit an ally if you target first. Also it depends on your team, smaller team mates mean more missed shots on the pulse cannon. Pulse cannon is also Reyna’s strongest damage dealing attack, so is it worth the trade off? She can already support and heal her team mates, and with her pulse canon, deal 100+ damage shots (With Homing shots she becomes a great character for securing kills). With her legendary you are now mostly just there to heal, and if you miss any of your shots on an ally you are reducing her effectiveness because she now has to stop focusing on her target to heal an ally. Where if she doesn’t take her legendary the player only has to worry about putting an overshield on then damaging the opponent and if your team mate dies, oh well you put your overshield on them.

When i play reyna i told my mates before the game start that if they want me to heal them… just stop running/jumping, with the explosive pulse it’s much more easier to heal them. I’m not healing them during fight as it’s hard to hit them and the overshield doesn’t last long in a fight.

I don’t specially build around her legendary as i go for Vow of Zealous Fury and Symbiotic Gauntlet (maybe switching with The Modernista)…

So I still use the homing pulse, i can still secure all kills i’m almost always the highest KDA and top healer, so i think i do well… ofc you shouldn’t focus only on healing to be 100% effective, same for others healer, they all have great aggressive/dps abilities

And btw when you take her legendary you can take the +16% damage on you and ally when overshielded instead of the heal => more dps (it brings the damage debuff near 50% if you have marked the target before)… just imagine if you boost an orendi or thorn before she use her ult

Recently discovered the wonders of the Symbiotic Spores on Ambra.

Oath of the Sustained can also be pretty decent on characters that aren’t purely support but have high dps.

I don’t have it, but I wouldn’t use it anyways. In most situations I would rather be focusing whoever my teammate is trying to kill rather than shooting my teammate to restore his health. I also try to use her over shield so that with the heal at 4 they will be at full health after it takes effect. Using legendaries on supports in general is a very questionable proposition in the first place. 95% of the time going off to get shards as a support is not the right use of your time, this is why I like using the green cooldown gear because getting that active early is very important to her play. The more shield boosters you throw out, the more assists and xp your getting.

I’m sorry but u are doing it wrong. Slow > homing every time. I laugh everytime I see a reyna take homing. With good teammates her “perma” slow will guarantee more kills than homing could ever dream of, especially if you have any melee on your team. It completely punishes out of position players by allowing your team to collapse on them which spreads the xp around. It directly counters characters like benedict and allows you’re team to melt tanks like montana even through a miko.

Homing is selfish and un reliable as everytime I run into it I just hug a wall and she never hits me.

Like you said, if you are in a premade the slow is better but it still depends of your team comp, if your 4 mates can already stack slow it will be a bit less usefull… so homing isa choice to consider
And if there are no Caladarius, Melkka or other character that can go deep and secure kills, the homing to it great
It can also add a constant pressure to snipers on their perch.
And all melee i was playing with were using the Boots of the Brute so the slow was useless as it doesn’t stack… but now that it got nerfed have to see

I was always using the slow before, but i tried the homing after seeing an other reyna carrying his team to the victory with it and it’s really powerfull and underrated

This is here that her legendary is really good because you can’t heal someone for more than 250hp (maybe 400 with level and gear) without it. But with it you can heal them from 0.1% to 100% in 2 or 3sec. If you are the only support it’s important, because when i play with a reyna as only support with a high hp character i always need to go back to base to heal. If there are 1 or more other support in my team i won’t use it and take something else.

And it also buff your mate for 16% more damage as you don’t need to take the level 4 helix

You can’t really heal them during a fight with the legendary as the overshield doesn’t last enough, so you don’t loose any time when healing them as there are no enemies to focus on…

Just depend on how you are playing, i like to run flull legendary and when i play with my mate we usually play full legendary and it works really well… we just have to play a bit more safe early game but when we are full stuff it’s over for them. And when i play Caldarius i run the sharing shards legendary, i ask my mates to let me take all shards and we all are full stuff in less than 10min and when the game ends we have more than 7k in our pockets xD
