What if they made Borderlands "3" the last Borderlands in a good way?

but how long has something like FF XIV been going? I’ve dipped into Neverwinter, even though just recently been put off by the hack storm, ban the victim douche policy they have, going on with it (even if sony/psn prolly strongly at fault – cause people’s psn accounts are being hacked).

That said, NW is old too and recently ported but is very popular.

Too many games are brilliant, shiny and utterly souless.

consider what Blizzard does with Reaper Of Souls. They keep it fresh, but I don’t know what their revenue model is like… what pays for the updates?

If this was going to happen, it would largely have to be a labour of love for Gearbox, as although they certainly would make a lot of money from the new seasons, this would fade over time. I agree that over-levelling might be an issue in True Vault Hunter mode, but in Ultimate Vault Hunter mode everything would scale to your level, meaning this isn’t an issue. New characters would definitely be a thing though.

Hot damn that’s a good idea

The thought just occurred to me that they could just have it always scale enemies to current level. The TVHM would increase enemy health and power and UVHM would increase more as well as add health regeneration. That’s essentially the big differences anyways and always having enemies scaled would be nice.

As for the labor of love, that’s what Gearbox does. I was listening to a podcast with Randy Pitchford and it was really cool to hear him talk about the BL2 DLC and how it was essentially just something they wanted to do and then they wanted to keep adding so they did the headhunter packs. BL1 they started working on the DLC just because they loved it so much and wanted to do more. They didn’t even know how or if they’d be able to release it! Haha. So everything Gearbox does is a labor of love. They just want to entertain us/themselves and the money is a nice bonus.

The scaling to the current level thing is definitely a good idea, with the usual additions for TVHM and UVHM. It would mean you wouldn’t be ridiculously underleveled (or overleveled) going into a new season.

Also an idea I had with regard to new characters: What if you could choose to switch out a character for a different one for a new season? So say I had a level 52 Zer0 (using BL2 as an example), all my skillpoints spent and a few legendaries in the 'ventory. What if I could switch that to a level 52 Salvador, with all the skillpoints that I had earned available (but not spent yet) and all the same guns?
It could maybe cost like twice the amount of money as respeccing, but it would mean that you could take like a new character added in the new season and give them a test run around before starting a full new playthrough with them, or could straight up keep them that way if you really liked it but didn’t want the grind of a new playthrough.

I like that concept. I had been toying with an idea like that before, but yours is better than I ever got. Maybe instead of a price of money like respec it could be speciality currency like Torgue Tokens and Seraph Crystals. Something a little more difficult so that you can’t constantly swap characters that way. Those swap currencies could be shared for your whole account through all characters, like badass tokens.

I, personally, like starting a brand new character and leveling them up. Plus, as long as they do what they do in Presequel you’ll have character unique dialogue (the best part of TPS in my opinion). It also helps you get familiar with the characters skills as you slowly spec the tree, but I wouldn’t be opposed to the transfer idea and there’s alway respec as you learn more about your new character.

Yeah, I like starting brand new characters too and I especially loved TPS’s dialogue, but if you got a brand new season of content with a brand new character, you’re kinda gonna want to play that at level 50, not at level 5. You make a good point though, it should be some other kind of currency, maybe awarded every 10 levels or so past level 30? Or every time you go beat the main story?

I know this isn’t the place for this, but do seraph crystals reset every game mode change?

No. You can farm it in easier difficulties and it carries into the proceeding games. It doesn’t transfer between characters though, yours or other players.

I love you thank you so much for that no one talks about if it resets
