What kind of Gameplay?

Apparently…

Here’s a message on modding from over on the BBI forums:
Stoked that this is one of the first questions to come up! We are in support of modders and people experimenting with our game to make it their own. We believe this is better for the community and better for us - full stop. Many of our developers (Myself included) got their starts in mod communities.

We won’t be putting up any legal or code based blocks for modding. We will, however, attempt to protect the game if a mod infringes on the integrity of our game. An exhaustive list of what this means is largely impossible due to the nature of modding - but we don’t want players sporting map hacks in games where other players don’t have the same content - for example.

We can offer more details on this, guidance on how our game is structured and additional engineering insights, as we get closer to release!
That sounds promising!

Ballistics or RNG? This is all I wish to know before buying, thanks.

hi there,

13 missions is the info, written in different online-magazines articles.

and size of the blue minimap:

in the trailer, it looks like a “world” minimap, something like C&C - so cutscenes like. the minimap according to the map looked like normal size, but then im not sure if this minimalistic minimap (which was perfect for homeworld) is the right stuff for a 2d- dessert map, maybe its just for the homeworld optics and the right “feel”?

The only thing, that can make this game unique and different from other ground-based RTS - it’s a free map (the whole available planet for player, completely!) I think, if it is not implemented, then it’s a big omission for this game…
I would also like to see running out of fuel and refueling units

If this was the case then games would quickly morph into RPG style gameplay and games would never end

Lol its mickey, the game is not even out and he is complaining again lol

And you just watch for me;) No, I’m not complaining, I think the this game will is not bad. However, personally, I’m tired of the limitations of standard RTS games. Every year out thousands of games that do not differ in their limited gameplay.
All ground RTS always and always are limited in the size of the own maps. Developers of games for a long time it is time to make the strategy in which, will be available to the all planet as map. Like As we can see in the google map. That’s when a new game could be set aside on the background of the standard RTS games!

yeah, and we will need a pc from 2122 to make it run… /sarcasm

OK larger maps i can agree with, but PLANET-SIZED???
Lol no.
Do you even realise how incredibly massive our planet is?

It will not be our planet. This is another planet, probably smaller sizes. 3D simulation of the planet already exist (see my link above) and I think in 2016, the game with planet as free map, can be already implemented. When the first game, with the planet as free map will be released, it will be a masterpiece. I just wish this game was - “Homeworld Deserts of Kharak”; But probably I too much to expect. Will look…

Also, I think to fully modeling the Kharak planet would be so much easier, than for example our planet, where there are many cities, rivers, forests, seas and oceans. Because Kharak - is just a whole lot of deserts only sometimes with mountain ranges. In this case can be created procedural generation of terrain.

Yes I’m sure planet maps will become available in games, They are already implemented in Evochron Mercenary. But NOT for an RTS. MMORPG, RPG. Fallout style yes.
But not for RTS.
Except in terms of things like Global Conquest mode in C&C3 Tiberium Wars Kanes Wrath.

But NOT for an RTS.
Why? As it seems to me there is no one reason. Probably you say that, because not seen such a RTS game. And this means, It is now, possible to try make a revolutionary game in the RTS genre. Still I think, today it’s can be realised just the developers did not put such task. Sad to me. In the case of Kharak, such a task would be highly expected. The search for resources and valuable artifacts would be much more interesting if they were made on the entire planet, and not on a limited map. I hope that at least in this, no one will doubt

But each game would take days if not longer.
You would be building hundreds of cities and populations before even getting a glimpse of the enemy.
This is question only of gameplay. In the case of Kharak, we have a desert planet with adverse conditions. This is just desert, desert, desert only sometimes with mountains. The player could create a whole planet exploration via space and other probes and move troops over large distances by means cargo aircraft for exampe. Such gameplay would be interesting and not longer than other games. I think so. This would be a very interesting expansion for player.

For comparison, in the game “elite dangerous” is able to create a complete model of the galaxy for player. Why other games are not able to create only one planet?

That’s a bit different, while their map scale is bigger so is their gameplay scale. They don’t have individual micromanagement of units SupCom style in maps the size of Venus

I would love this type of game style for the singleplayer. Almost like a RTS/RPG hybrid.

guys, let’s watch that will give developers, we have no other choice)

Well we could always whine and complain and spout out all kinds of nonesense.
That always helps!
