I wouldn’t think so. I have no issue with the current top gear format. Characters are different enough to work better with certain gear. Zero with sniper, axton/krieg with explosive, etc…

No it doesn’t

While Synergy does not automatically mean inclusion, it can (and does) create situations where it pushes gear to be the best in the pack.

The best example I can think of is the Rough Rider:

It’s one of the best shield for Sal and Krieg, but I would never use it on Zero
So, would it be on the “overall” Top Gear ?

Why is the norfleet on every? Top gear thread? Do any characters actually have synergy with it(shamfleet doesn’t count)?

Axton, technically, has Steady and Do Or Die, which buff launcher damage. Not that the Norfleet needs it, but still.

I played Borderlands for over 2 years before I got a Norfleet too

I’ve never had one drop either, but I don’t like fighting Hyperius or Vermi, so that’s probably why.

Or seen a legit vermi.

I have and he ain’t easy…I’ve had him spawn in both three and four man teams.

Axton gets a grenade damage bonus, not explosive. I know it may sound like nitpicking, but Axton can increase the damage of a slag Fastball, while Krieg can increase the damage of almost any Torgue weapon. For example: the Flakker is great on Axton, but mediocre on Krieg because the Flakker doesn’t processes BB. I would take a Casual Carnage over a Casual Flakker. Hell, I’d take a casual ravager over the Flakker.

Should availability be factored in?

That’s a lot of what separates “Top Gear” lists from “Recommended Gear While Leveling” lists (if the latter actually exist as more than scattered posts in individual advice threads).

Would it hurt to have something like that for each character for BL2 anyway? People are still starting the game for the first time, after all.

If you’d like to make one, or add a new section to your new players guide, I’ll be happy to offer comments and advice. I don’t begin to have the time to make one myself, though…

Re: Norfleet, never seen one, only visited Hyperius a couple times since he doesn’t drop anything I want. I only use RLs as FFYL guns, and after level 50 that role is almost always filled by a Harold anyway.

Everyone goes into FFYL, and it is thee best option. Nothing but a Topneaa or a Fastball (for Axton) even comes close. Axton automatically has synergy with is because of his skills, it’s one of the few weapons barely affected by Anarchy, and Krieg always procs Bloodbath with it to get the 500% bonus damage.
