Gave up on BB last night with the matchmaking and server issues. Went back to BL2 and picked up my Axton Dahl allegiance playthrough! It’s hilariously cringe worthy to be stuck exclusively with Dahl weapons and gear
Diablo 3: RoS co op
There trying to let people play cross platform. I do plan on building a PC one day
You’ve just got to take the plunge. And people make out that upgrading parts is so terrible, when honestly, you shouldn’t have to upgrade your gpu for 4-5 years if you get a decent one, 7-10 years for a mobo/cpu.
Well I was gonna do it after I have a used car paid for and have however much it cost extra in the bank. Life goals before PC sadly lol
life sucks but yeah.
Heh, my CPU is from 2009, and I’m only now getting to upgrading it. It works well enough for 1440x900@75hz. Most games I can actually reach my refresh rate consistently, with few to none drops. So, in reality, upgrading is just like @Poisonedbite says. Not too bad, unless you really, really care for top of the line parts.
I bought my comp in 2012, with real low end parts. I upgraded in February, new mobo, cpu, gpu. about 600 bucks. And only a few months short of the new nvidia cards
You upgrade when you can. I had plugged wires backwards and fried my post speaker area on the mobo. It still worked so I left it until I could replace it. my own fault for not checking which was hot. Come tax time, my half of the taxes is going to paying my loans so I can go back to school. Would I like a new nvidia card? hell yeah. priorities man.
Me care about top of the line? No. I’ve had the same.ps3 for like 6 years and haven’t bought a full price game for 4

NO WAY! The dlc even includes the completely necessary base game??? WHOA!
In any case, your delay is actually good timing. There’s gonna be a lot of newer hardware coming out in the next 6 months, and hopefully some newer games also start using DirectX 12.
Edit: Might as well mention that I’m waiting on my brother, since he promised to give me his FX 8350 once he upgrades to the newer AMD processors. I’m currently running off of an OC’d Phenom II x6 1045t. It does… decently in most cases. Nothing spectacular, but it does work. Just that games that aren’t optimized well stick out like a sore thumb.
Yeah I just upgraded from a 4130 to an 8350. The 9xxx series all overheat a LOT. Although I upgraded to the same mobo, since its a BEAST. Probably 2018 i’ll be upgrading to zen or pascal. or whatever new is out. 2018 will be a big year for me.
Very nice mobo you have there.
To me, it seems like AMD has very, very big advantages in any DirectX 12 situation. Asynchronous shaders, higher multithreading performance overall, that makes a very big impact. However, for the older DirectX versions, Intel performs much better, from its better single core performance.
the 390 doesn’t hurt either.
We should probably dump any more of our talk into the tech discussion thread. Speaking of which, any specific upgrades you’ve planned to make?
I may start looking for a somewhat older sound card for use on my machine, specifically for older games. I do have a Xonar DGX from when my old computer’s soundcard killed itself (And I mean hardcore, the only thing it outputted was very loud buzzing. I was lucky that Windows still recognized it existed, but couldn’t play audio. Otherwise I would’ve had a lot of issues), but the Xonar doesn’t really cut it for what I’m trying to do. It can only force EAX 2.0 on, which is of course less than optimal, considering just how old that is. It’s a step up from regular 3D audio though, and better than a lot of modern games I play. Environmental audio is sweet, I just wish it was considered more important these days, especially with VR.
On topic: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II. I love the updates Aspyr made.
Well since I took the plunge and reorganized my OS locations on my hard drives a lot of D3. I have 3 hard drives, totaling 10 TB. I had linux and all my movies on the 4TB, which was stupid since its a WD black gaming HDD. So I bought the 3rd HDD, another 3TB, installed mint, and moved over 2TB of movies and games, and installed windows on the black. Only use it for games now. Took me so long to get linux back how I wanted. Hope BL3 gets the aspyr treatment. bl2 and tps both run flawlessly on linux.
