What we want for Borderlands 3. A wishlist

Please NO. Battlefront was ruined by this, as was ESO. As soon as there is an option for 3rd person, everyone is forced into using it if they wish to remain competitive.

Besides, in BL you DO get to see your character - on the title screen, every time you open your menu and every time you enter/exit your vehicle. That’s more than enough, imo.

Personally i’d much prefer 3rd person video playback over 3rd person game mode.

Make it so every element in the game is usable, and not just falling by the wayside, corrosive in the presequel was not used very often and feel the element wasnt shown a lot of love. Also while it was a bit better in the presequel than bl2 there is still problems with some skills getting into late game becoming not as useful. Larger skill trees with better balancing would be good. Hopefully the grind machine from the presequel is history and wont return. If Zero, Krieg return actual melee weapons equippable with with elements and special properties would be a nice touch. Just a few of my thoughts.

First, let me say that sometimes my English can turn into an abomination…
This is nothing big, but this is something i personally want. Swords.

And bows, but personally i feel a bow should be implemented as an action skill for a character.

Regarding the swords, i don’t want them to be so simple that you just simply attack the enemy with it. If the enemy uses a sword, the swords clash if the enemy is quick enough to defend with it. But i don’t want it to be the Skyrim type sword fighting. I want it to be a lot more action packed and cool looking.

How to make it like that?
Make a bonus skill tree for swords. For example make the character able to push the enemy back, and the enemy push you back after clashing with swords. With this, there could be a skill which allows the player to slow down when being pushed back, with it’s own animation. For example let’s say the character puts his/her hand to the ground, releasing and leaving behind some magical energy trail thingy, which gradually slows the character from being pushed back. Same goes for bows if they are going to be a new weapon type. I mean, there might not be bows at all, but who knows.

But seriously. While using swords and bows, the player can almost endlessly come up with new ways to play with them if given a chance to do so, especially in a game like Borderlands, and this is why i think swords and bows should have their own skill trees if being implemented. Also, i’ve never really enjoyed shooter games that much, but Borderlands just drew me in regardless of that feature, and adding melee weapons can make the experience with the game a lot more enjoyable than it already is for some of the players.

This is more of a small, personal issue regarding Thorn’s bow in Battleborn. What is it? Holding the bow in the right hand. I can get over this quickly, but i find it a lot more enjoyable to play with a bow when the character is holding it in his/her left hand. So if there’s going to be a bow, make the player able to choose does the character hold the bow in the right hand or left hand. I’m not just going to say that make the character hold the bow in the left hand, because that on the other hand can bother some of the other players.

I know these features are nothing big, but i’d personally like to have features like these.

I wish BL3

  • to be more “BL1 like” than “BL2 like”

  • to have no more “stacking” skills, they have been introduced with Zer0, Gaige and Krieg and it was IMO a very BIG mistake.

  • to get more blood and bloody EXPLOSIOOOOONS.

  • to get bigger skilltrees with not enough skill points to fulfill them ! I wish a true variety in builds, real choices to do, to make every character played very special.

  • to have more vehicles, maybe boats to cross rivers/lakes or buzzard’s chopper for air assaults.

  • to have more pieces of gear available for a character. (Why not all types of gear, including COM’s, Relics, Oz Kit, Grenade Mods, Shields ?) and new ones too (what about gauntlets or helmets)

  • to have not more weapons slot but a unique melee weapon slot with a real diversity of melee weapons lootable.

  • to have customizable weapons (I wish I could keep a sight I love and bring it to another gun…)

  • to have new weapon’s options like silencers (for Ninjas like me) or laser pointers…

  • to keep fields diversity of BL2 and adding them all those you could imagine !

  • to stand as a FPS and not a TPS

And, the last but not the least :

PLEASE GBX, take ALL THE TIME YOU NEED to make BL3 !!!

I REALLY WISH IT WILL NOT BE RELEASED BEFORE END OF 2018 !!!

I keep saying that TVHM is completely unnecessary and should be rolled into NVHM since they both have enemy caps.

As UVHM is unrestricted, keep it. That way, you still have multiple playthroughs, but it’s not such a pain to run through. Again. And again. And again.

A announcement of a pc release, since there seems to lack one.

Dots from electric/corrosive/fire made equal, for example in bl2 corrosive/fire stack, but elec will not stack it’ll land once and thats it.

If you have a class that uses summons don’t make the ai focus fire at it so it dies in a second everytime you try to use it.

Add some diablo-esque sets to the game

Add proper scaling in all diffculties. Its so annoying how easy it is to vastly outlevel things, which then removes all challenge from the game. If I don’t take a lv 5 quest right away, it should scale up to my level as should the area that its involved in up to a certan level cap for diffculty.

Add some sort of raid thing that can’t be soloed no matter what build people use.

Add soemthing like diablos prestige levels that give acct wide bonuses, make it stack with badass ranks, Each char can have their own tree kinda like hellgate london.

I’d also love a weapon customize system with skins, parts like being able to swap barrels, handles and scopes. Make the gun have a min/max level range for what parts it can use so people can’t just get a lv 1 vladof barrel and then put it on every gun. Higher lv barrels of course offer better bonuses. Kinda like fallout 4 i guess?

@scyris: So DOT overlap, then? If so, I can back that.

Pretty much, in BL2/presequel, Corrosive and Burn stack/overlap, but shock can only be landed once on a enemy, making it alot less useful than the other 2. I mean if shock overlapped like corrosive and burn i’d probally almost always use it as a general damage element, curently I use corrosive for that since its neutral vs skin, bad vs shield like burn, but also lets me mow down anything with armor namely hyperion things.

Man, DOT like Rice Krispies… – you get snap, crackle AND pop all at once!

I definitely would NOT want weapon trees like in destiny. HOWEVER: I do think it would be cool if you could maybe spend ■■■■ ton of Eridium to maybe upgrade a gun. maybe not like pack-a-punch or anything but it would be cool if we could turn regular guns into an elemental or maybe e-tech without necessarily making the gun too much stronger. The grinder was a really cool idea but I feel like it was used more as an exploit to dupe legendary guns. So it needs to either be fixed or removed in that case.

Haha I feel ya. The humor needs to be amazing again. I mean as far as the humor in the game goes, they made a huge improvement from BL1 to BL2. Hopefully they can top themselves again.

Oh no my God, please, no more Grinder !!!

I wish it has never been in game !!!
What a waste of time and a waste of fun !!!

Well the one good thing about the grinder is if you don’t like it all you have to do is walk right by it and never use it. Problem solved for those that despise it. I personally like to grind things when I’ve got some color in the backpack that’s not quite what I want. Like taking some Scav shotties and making a Hyperion worth using or a Jacobs quad that wrecks face.

Well, the one bad thing with the Grinder is if you want to have that Luneshine Gun you wish, you have no choice but to use it… again… and again… and again… and again…

Yeah that’s true… They say you can get one as a world drop from a boss but man the chance must be slim from what I’ve seen. Most of my gear lacks luneshine and I’ve only had a handful that I used. Especially since the addition of glitch weapons which is where I really appreciate the grinder. Even though I haven’t been able to get a good set of Hyperion shotguns for my Athena yet…

yep… and don’t forget that before Gbx fixed that, the Grinder was the main source of Legendaries stuff… (but this is off topic discussion)

I really don’t wish the Grinder back in BL3.

I’d prefer some kind of special stuff to buy from Marcus, as a Luneshine Item Of The Day or maybe some way to pay with Eridium and/or Moonstones to get some random Luneshine/Eridian effect added to my own guns…

Yeah that would be cool by me… I mentioned something similar in another thread somewhere. I mentioned about having a chance for the guns to spawn with up to three slots that can be used to buff stats for a fee from Marcus. By the way I wanna see Marcus have some competition in the next game to some extent. Someone who offers something a little different although I’m not sure what that would be.

They really need to fix the whole power system from BL2. Enemies and weapons scaled exponentially, while your character scaled linearly. Early game isn’t much of an issue. Late game required you to rely on the gimmick that was Slag to kill enemies in a decent fashion. Or rely on other methods that got nerfed to hell like the bee shield and CC. Gearbox should either go back to linear scaling for everything like in BL1 or make everything exponential. It shouldn’t feel like a chore killing max level enemies with max level weapons.
