First, let me say that sometimes my English can turn into an abomination…
This is nothing big, but this is something i personally want. Swords.
And bows, but personally i feel a bow should be implemented as an action skill for a character.
Regarding the swords, i don’t want them to be so simple that you just simply attack the enemy with it. If the enemy uses a sword, the swords clash if the enemy is quick enough to defend with it. But i don’t want it to be the Skyrim type sword fighting. I want it to be a lot more action packed and cool looking.
How to make it like that?
Make a bonus skill tree for swords. For example make the character able to push the enemy back, and the enemy push you back after clashing with swords. With this, there could be a skill which allows the player to slow down when being pushed back, with it’s own animation. For example let’s say the character puts his/her hand to the ground, releasing and leaving behind some magical energy trail thingy, which gradually slows the character from being pushed back. Same goes for bows if they are going to be a new weapon type. I mean, there might not be bows at all, but who knows.
But seriously. While using swords and bows, the player can almost endlessly come up with new ways to play with them if given a chance to do so, especially in a game like Borderlands, and this is why i think swords and bows should have their own skill trees if being implemented. Also, i’ve never really enjoyed shooter games that much, but Borderlands just drew me in regardless of that feature, and adding melee weapons can make the experience with the game a lot more enjoyable than it already is for some of the players.
This is more of a small, personal issue regarding Thorn’s bow in Battleborn. What is it? Holding the bow in the right hand. I can get over this quickly, but i find it a lot more enjoyable to play with a bow when the character is holding it in his/her left hand. So if there’s going to be a bow, make the player able to choose does the character hold the bow in the right hand or left hand. I’m not just going to say that make the character hold the bow in the left hand, because that on the other hand can bother some of the other players.
I know these features are nothing big, but i’d personally like to have features like these.
