This was an awesome explanation, thank you. I agree with all points other than one (i think annointments further added to build diversity) and also really hope they take those into consideration with Wonderlands.

The problem most people have with them is the huge damage increases
At this moment i’m using ammo regen on Zane and blasting through M10/11
Using damage increase anointments is just insane
So, i’d say yes if they toned them down a bit or make them utility instead of straight damage bonuses

The issue with difficulty isn’t something that can be fixed easily because of the core gameplay.
I’ve been a BL fan since OG. The reason we get difficulty tiers is because the game isn’t really structured to be difficult for people who can click heads. Hell even if your accuracy isn’t great you can still put out enough damage to down most enemies quickly.
Something I favor in a game like Division is that the game is made more difficult by realistic elements such as requiring the player to use cover, qeapon handling in different states, enemy AI attack patterns based on player positioning…etc. BL can’t really incorporate a lot of these elements because it’s a balls to the wall shooter at hard. There’s nothing that could be considered a tactical element, and thus no reason to think beyond crunching the numbers it takes to get the highest damage output.
They’d have to restructure the entire system to make it difficult in a way that wouldn’t upset or frustrate players.
We as the consumers have to look for something else we can enjoy about the game because difficulty isn’t it. I also doubt the story is going to make a miraculous turn for the better. Story telling has evolved in the past 10 years. We’re not gonna get anything like borderlands 1 & 2 again.
With that we can either look for more innovation in terms of gameplay (add staples for newer Shooters Looters) or more replayable content outside of the loot grind (similar to arms race.) I don’t see any improvements to the franchise in terms of balance & story telling coming.

What I would like the most is a decent story, simpler farming (not a dozen different parts and a hundred + anointments) and improved enemy AI. Make the enemies work together, take advantage of their arsenal and surroundings and pin down the player. And other stuff as well, I dunno, like flanking and stuff. That would make us feel even more badass when we finish them off. Also, just imagine how badass it would be if Badass enemies or anointed and whatnot, could grab fodder and throw it at you, dealing insane damage but also getting rid of the fodder. Sounds badass is all I’m saying.
Edit: Oh, and no more horrible mustaches please.

Basically I want a borderland game that feel like up to the level a modern game should be. Not in term of graphism or whatnot, but in term of experience.
Nothing too crazy :
- Proper story and humor (that what make a borderland to begin with)
- BALANCED GAME, we’re in 2021, at least try to make it “somewhat” balanced, not asking for perfectly balanced, but you can’t have god tier and trash tier legendaries/VH/Talent
- Proper loot system : If you want to make trillion of combinaison, make it possible to either farm part or rerol them to reduce the random component
- No ■■■■■■■ bug for ■■■■ sake

I love it when people guess at things they have literally no idea of the work involved for.
I mean, by this logic, Wonderlands could be a completely different game in six months time. That’d be funny

After M2.0 it was more hundreds maybe thousands if viable combinations because it ascended half the legendaries into godlike (cartel ones even higher) and non legendary into trash tier (only good for non mayhem or lower levels)
All because they (re)introduced weaponscaling
And it didn’t really make the game more difficult

I agree on no anointments
I hope we get an action skill as satisfying as Phaseslam and that Tiny Tina is written really well.
Glad you’re so easily amused.
I said this about when BL3 first came out, so maybe it’ll stick this time.
-start with legendaries being weak
-buff them later to their desired level
That way people get excited over buffs and aren’t complaining about nerfs every single update.

This, I am surprised they even put Couch co-op in wonderlands with how poorly designed and optimized it was in BL3 and the fact it was never a priority to fix. Its still horrible to read and play from a couch even 2 years later.

If they are going to use the same game engine for this that they did for BL3 not seeing a bright future for the local couch co-op on this game either.

Yep if they haven’t fixed the UI or anything else that’s lingering since launch in BL3 I doubt they would be able to fix it for wonderlands.

I’m sure we will find out once it releases if @GBX did anything to improve the split screen experience or left it in beta form like they did for BL3 and passed it through. I certainly wouldn’t get my hopes up that’s for sure.
