Electrical Burn is definitely worth it- take the points from Shock Storm and put them there. Also, if you find a L. Mechromancer com take the point from either The Stare or Shock and AAAGGGHHH!!! and put it into 20% Cooler for the cool down bonus, although right now, if you move the points from Shock Storm, a L. Catalyst would boost all the skills you’re specced into in the LBT tree…
I personally like both, especially while levelling. Shock Storm procs on DT kills, so you don’t need to be landing crits all the time. It’s ideal when fighting dense mobs. Not much point for raid bosses, but very useful for getting to 72.
I agree with this, at least pre-OP, Electrical and Shock Storm synergise so well.
One farming tip I’d give would be to get a Slagga, and if you didn’t do the Clan Wars missions in TVHM do them as soon as they become available in UVHM and make sure to kill the Hodunks as Jimbo/Tector Hodunk drop it. It’s so easy to overlook a decent slagging weapon and therefore the Slagga in particular, but it’s one of the most reliable and easy to farm slag weapons and it actually deals decent damage too, even the highest-tier weapons in the game wont do much if you can’t slag your enemies consistently. Any level Slagga will do, but if you can get a higher level one there’s no reason not to. Also, for future if you intend to level up another new character, keep particular missions with unique rewards as after beating the main story all missions in TVHM scale to level 50. This is great for getting Moxxi weapons from the circles of slaughter, shields like the Order and Love Thumper and even Flame of the Firehawk which all work great on Gaige and Krieg, and the first two are good items for Zer0. Most unique items (Blue or purple with red text on the item card) are mission rewards, figure out which ones you want and farm them post-TVHM but leave them until you’re at max level in UVHM.
The Torgue and Seraph suggestions are great as well, Torgue tokens are easy to farm on normal and TVHM for an Unkempt Harold early in UVHM but Seraph crystals only drop in UVHM so keep that in mind.
Every few levels tip Moxxi until she gives you a Good Touch, not a great fire SMG but it’s not bad either and 2% lifesteal is better than none, especially on Gaige with her high elemental DoTs.
What platform are you on? I may be able to help with some gear.
I’m on PS4, about to level up to 55 now. This would be amazing, PM me if you want
Unfortunately my skill tree doesn’t let me do that
should I take points out of wires don’t talk? I don’t have any great shocks guns right now anyway so the fire dot might help more than increased shock damage.
Got an unkempt Harold at 53 and holy crap it’s amazing. I actually find lower anarchy Is better because the damage is already great I just need to be able to hit what I want lol.
There’s no one “best” gun in the game, but the Harold is always in the conversations around that topic, it’s just crushing and works with every character and pretty much every spec due to its strength. The DPUH may be the technically strongest, but every Harold is strong
“Best” gear really depends on your skills and style of play. I use completely different tactics as the commando than the Siren but the gear is pretty similar. I use a Bee as the commando because I spend so much time using cover and the Siren has a cracked sash because she’s more of a facetank character with all the healing skills she has. Personally, I prefer a slag weapon with a high rate of fire like the Slagga or a Vladof Anarchist and everything else is either explosive or elemental. I seldom use non-elemental weapons at all. I really like the Ogre and Torgue spitters in general, the DPUH obviously is great. The conference call is a great weapon if you can get one. I saw a video of someone running digistruct peak as Gaige with a fibber and they were shooting the ground and crushing enemies somehow. It was odd but might be worth trying.
Are you referring to your build? If you have the points to reach WDT then you should be able to but points into EB. Indeed, if you’ve reached level 30 you can have Electrical Burn, Evil Enchantress and Wires Don’t Talk all at 5/5. Since WDT was patched to work as intended it’s really the keystone to the triple threat of EB, EE and WDT- the 3 skills have great synergy and IMO should always be taken in a LBT tree build. I’ve been told DT can proc Shock Storm so if you’re big into him carrying the load that might be the way to go but even with not so great shock guns a Catalyst com can give you enough of a boost to make it worth it to take those 3 skills.
@Inconceivable- they were using the ricochet version of the Fibber, which shoots with a circular 9 pellet design. IIRC the pellets count as unlisted damage, meaning that amp shields can boost the damage of all of the pellets. Best version of this would be a shock Redundant Fibber, which I used on my original Gaige well into her OP leveling runs. The best way to tell which one of the 3 types of barrels the Fibber has is by the listed base damage- the ‘crit’ Fibber has the smallest base damage, the ‘shotgun’ Fibber has the x1 as part of its prefix and the ricochet version has the largest base damage…
The ricochet Fibber - if you haven’t done the quest to turn Mal into a human in the Eridium Blight on TVHM then this is the best thing for Gaige going into UVHM… you can shoot the ground anywhere as Close Enough will redirect all the pellets at enemies.
To build Anarchy, any decent 1 shot reload Jakobs shotgun will do, twin it with your 5/5 BSS, a Black Hole shield and Shock and “AAAGGGGHHH!” and you’ll be laughing! Or go Nova shield (Deadly Bloom) and you’ll just be going BOOM! all over the place. I had lot of fun with Gaige
Yeah, RNG finally coughed up a shock redundant fibber for my Gaige a few weeks ago and it just absolutely crushes with full-on LBT specced, shock bone, Bee, and Nth degree. Don’t even need a Bee really, heh, especially when you’ve got enough anarchy stacks. I’d seen videos of that action myself but it’s something else to experience that carnage first hand.
Yeah - if I’m using the Fibber and not building Anarchy fast with a shotgun, I play fairly carefully with The Bee until about 100 stacks then switch to the biggest capacity Turtle/Hoplite I can find before face tanking everything! You have to watch the health reduction from the shield though as Deathtrap will double it if you have Sharing is Caring.
I started UVHM at 55. It was horrible. Basically impossible, and seriously not fun. I had 50 level gear of course. So I went to the Torgues CoC DLC and kept farming the three red chests, over and over. It really worked. I even got two legendaries. I bet I did it for two hours total. The three chests can be googled, but one is right near where you enter the map. Just up the hill to the right of the bottom of the stairs. The next is at the top of the structure at the catch a ride by the entrance to the beat down. The last is right by Moxxi’s bar, across the street, jump down to the metal beam, go to your left, into the building on the rooftop, and jump over behind the billboard. Easy to spot.
But Tiny Tina’s DLC for zero in uvhm is SO damn hard. It was WAY easier with Maya. Those skeletons to begin with are like mini bosses. And their just the generic mobs. Ugh.
Welcome to the forums! Glad you managed to get the gear to cope with that high starting level.
Could I ask you to please check the dates on posts before replying to them, though? That one was over 2 years old… Closing the thread to prevent further necromancy.
