Great for dailies, great for lore, great for practice and experimenting , great for casual, great for new players, great for meeting people.
Did I miss anything?
What he said. My wife loves it because she wants to play PVP to get the character lore but she hates public PVP because it upsets her to no-end. And before anybody says she needs to get over it, sheâs suffering from PTSD due to her time in the Army, so there is no just getting over it.
So? Youâre not forced to play that mode and there have been many reasons given as to why itâs popular. Is that so hard to understand? Personally I donât see the point of this thread.

There is a market in the gaming community for casual online gaming.
It would be silly from a financial standpoint for Gearbox not to attempt to take advantage of it.
Bots Battle is designed and tailored to be fun for newcomers and casual gamers who just want to log in and immerse themselves in a silly cartoon for an hour or so.
Part of the appeal of gaming is using it as a stress reliever. It doesnât all have to be competitive and hardcore.
Donât underestimate the appeal of just being able to log in, find a match quickly, and spend 20 minutes blowing up some bots while having a casual chat on the mic or using the comments.
Hardcore gamers are under no obligation to play it or even enjoy it. There are no lore challenges one needs to accomplish in Bots Battle. There is no reason to play it if thatâs not oneâs thing. Likewise, thereâs no reason for casuals to get pub stomped in a normal match when they can just log in and enjoy Bots Battle. Hardcore gamers get to do intense battles and pubstomps. Casuals get to have a fun, casual PVP mode.
I feel Bots Battle is very, very sketchy, but only because the AI is presently so bad that I think it gives a poor impression for new players. Iâd want to see it improved but certainly not removed.
edit: not because the bots are too easy from a PVP regularâs perspective (they are, but thatâs not the point), but because they donât play the objective. I donât want them to crush the hopes and dreams of casual players - I just want them to actually try to win Meltdown and Incursion, instead of getting distracted by the nearest shiny thumper/thrall at every opportunity
I agree. If it is meant to teach new players, then the bots should be a better example of what you are supposed to do and how to play that character. Marquis running laps around a small shard sets a bad example for new players.
The bots play the objective better than the people I usually was teamed up with before I stopped playing PvP âŚ
nah, too casual to be fun bruh. Is a guaranteed win yâall idea of fun?
and you could STILL play with your wife against bots in private matches
and itâs a problem because everyone is flocking towards it leaving the other modes dry
AI will never be good as human intelligence
Then I was obviously not playing with humans a while ago. Because all they did was running 1v5 into Battle and not doing anything like âkilling minionsâ, âcapturing pointsâ, etc.
Iâm playing Bots Battle, because I like playing and chatting with people. Iâm not defining fun as âI have to wreck other humans in such a SRS BSNS like video gamesâ. Games are something to spend a part of the evening after I come home from work, not more not less.
Sure, provided we have FIVE people who all want to play. Sometimes itâs just three of us. PLUS, you CANNOT do character lore in private PVP matches, or did you miss that point?
TL;DR: donât play it if you donât like it.
The proof of the pudding.
lel so those 4 people acc for the whole playerbase? wooooooooow
Bots battle provides no challenge, therefor it isnât fun compared to the rest.
what?
Since when are you me? Did I miss something?
whatâs wrong with going into private with 3 lel, and also Lore should have been done in the PVP multiplayer like it was intended,
it doesnât matter if I play it or not -_- I said people are flocking towards it, instead of the better PVP options and I canât see the fun in it.
But I completed most the lore challenges already lel
what
Fun is subjective. You are not the center of the world.
No.
So you think they would do regular PVP then? From my experience, I doubt that.
Good for you. Hereâs your cookie.

Simply because you cannot see the fun in a thing does not mean that a thing cannot be fun to others.
For example, I personally do not find âThe Big Bang Theoryâ to be fun or enjoyable (Nor am I saying that you do). I consider the humor of the program to be⌠grating. However, there is a rather large fanbase that disagrees with me. And while I do not personally enjoy it, and would prefer to see it taken off the air, the fact remains that there is a rather large fan base that disagrees with me. I would prefer people watch programs that I enjoy so they donât get cancelled in season 1, but it is not my place to tell people how to enjoy their spare time, nor should it be.
Now, I am not comparing the merits and problems of that program with Bots Battle and stating that they are the same level of quality, as I personally enjoy Bots Battle, whereas I despise âThe Big Bang Theory.â I am simply saying that we have a similar situation. That you consider it to be easy does not make it any less enjoyable for a large portion of the fan base.
Your point seems to be that they are pulling players from regular PVP, a mode that you enjoy, and that it is easy, therefore it should be abolished. I counter with a point that most of the players in Bots Battle will not play regular PVP due to the continuing problem that they continually go up against hardcore premades and donât want to get curb stomped just to complete lore. There are also the casual gamers who just want to chill. Let us take this discussion from that point with a new counter or a new argument to continue this constructive discussion rather than rehashing the same points in stagnation.
