No need to die so often to get kills/assists.

I wish people would stop picking him, very annoying when itās on my team and disappointing on the enemy team. Heās just not useful, Melka completes his objectives and goals FAR more effectively while having a similar concept of being a ranged assassin if you want another choice. And if you want push there are far better choices, just stop with the Whisky Foxtrots because itās not going to work out.
I donāt agree with that at all. Once he gets his mid-game abilities he can clear waves well, he can jungle pretty well, he eats tanks like Montana or Kelvin for breakfast and with his AOE and ACOG he can easily chase off snipers from their perches. You just need to know his strengths and weaknesses to do well with him. He has some incredible burst damage if you use him right (ult, nade, flak, empty mag into face, taunt), but he suffers in short range fights against skinny characters.

As Montana the only character I regularly die to is Whiskey. That ult shreds me from about half or three-quarter health because he can hit me with every bullet due to my huge hitbox. I fear Whiskey far more than most characters. And his base rifle outdamages me at range.
Marquis canāt kill me outright (he does a boatload of damage and pushes me back, sure, but I donāt die). Same with Thorn.
I know this is just one matchup, but thought Iād mention it.

I encourage all pro Whiskey players on PSN to try this.
Iām 5-0 so far for Whiskey players with my perspective characters. Until a majority can prove me wrong Iāll always say as a character he sucks and you could just do better with someone else.
Oh hey, we were supposed to play yesterday.
On topic though, heās more than capable late game. I rather enjoy using him and although KD doesnāt really matter, I still tend to have a great spread on him. He shouldnāt be labeled as an easy character to pick up since to use him properly one needs to level him up to unlock his late game power.

Yea I didnāt get to play like I wanted to as I made an unexpected trip out of town, but I will be available tomorrow before 7 CST as I gotta make another trip out of town and then again around 10 CST possibly.
I play him and have fun with him(on PS4 if you are wondering). I can do well in some matches. Do I think he is good? Not really, there are definitely way better choices. Itās hard to hit and the damage you usually do isnāt great. Plus his reload is so slow. Although, I still do okay with him.
Thereās a few characters that are liabilities.
Whiskey is one of them. Anyone who can do good with Whiskey can do better with Oscar Mike or even Benedict.
I also think Toby, Caldarius, and Ambra fall into this category. (with Pendles inevitable future state as an honorable mention
) and I have seen some really great players with each of those - itās just that Iām sure if they where someone else they would be doing way better.
Just played a match with him to see what was up and got murdered not only just for me but for my whole team. Played on ps4 and wow this is the worse battleborn I have ever played. Hard to hit with and does no damage. Just wow.
He is definitely a mid-late game char. Early on you have to farm minion and get assists on player kills early on. But around lv 4-5 your wave clear gets better and you can put out more dmg easily. I think he great and you should take the time out to learn him

After tha_shogun_12 brought it up and I played around with it for a while I have decided that attack speed makes or breaks Whiskey. His base attack speed is too low to allow him to to do his job as an assassin properly. A bump to his base attack speed would dramatically increase his effectiveness and allow him to do more in the early/mid game.
Aside from that Whiskey is actually a very powerful character and what I would consider to be the best single target damage in the game when youāre hitting your shots. If his damage is boosted anymore he will be op. He just needs some usability tweaks like an atk speed boost, a reticle for scrap cannon, and a larger sticking radius for his sticky grenade.
Even when Iād just started with WF and Cald, I still did better than I do after like 5 games of OM.
As a noob to MOBA, I took a look at Oscar Mike as one of my first regulars (I wouldnāt say āmainā) and it worked well. Heās traditional, middle-of-the-road FPS stuff. I found much less success with Whiskey, and was disappointed.
As part of my general development, I decided to play a couple Incursions where Iād pick a supporter and just follow around some high-level guy, to learn what they did during the course of a match. I saw a commander rank 100 guy with Master of WF pick him, so I picked Reyna and tagged along.
It went VERY well. Beyond keeping him in Overshield, Iād Priority Target a guy and WF was all headshots after that point. I want to say I had like 15+ assists that game and it was in one that was over pretty quick, a 100-0 rundown of both sentries by my squad. I canāt recall the WF playerās handle, but they were damn good.
So while Iām not good with him, at least not yet, I have seen what Whiskey can do. I agree with others that he probably shouldnāt have the āEasyā tag, tho.
I can agree with that. Once he gets his sight and multiple grenade launcher he gets better. But it is painful until then.
Until WF hits level 5 or 6 you should consider him more of a support/harasser character. Find a big tough friend and stick with him and do some farming until mid-game. At no point would I consider him an āassassinā type character. Maybe people are running into trouble trying to play him like one.
Once he gets to mid-game he can push minions, melt tanks, jungle amazingly well (if you do your burst damage correctly) and can 1v1 competently against most Battleborn. The problem is that to get the most utility out of him you need 2 or 3 of his mutations. His napalm, his health regen (which is amazing) and optionally his 25% shield pen if the match warrants it. Iād suggest people not make their opinion of him until theyāve at least unlocked the health regen and napalm and used that a bit.

Agree on WF. Disagree on Toby and Caldy.
But this thread is about WF, so yeah, agreed.
Thereās no real reason to ever bring WF. Anything he can do, someone else can do better.
