the worst is when you farm for hours for a very specific item/annointment, you get it and it doesn’t work as well with the build as you hoped lol. the grind.

do people realize u dont need to care about part in bl2? all u would care is grip and prefix on most thing and theres only 5 to 6 variation on each part and the difference between worst combo to the best one is probably less than 30% . u get a norfleet , boom its done its a norfleet it will work
in bl3 u need to care bout annointment , part that give straight up bonus stat ( cutsman can spawn with projectile speed charge speed blah blah ) let say crossroad , if it spawn with low accuracy its straight up unusable with that low accuracy .
why people keep tolerate make excuse of bad drops when statistic show its the game fault? masochist much ?
i have 700h on pc and atleast 2.5k on ps4 i think i have right to say bl2 drops are better than bl3

I started farming Billy for a raging bear and I got one with another of his dedicated drops so I tested to make sure it wasn’t a fluke so this is what happened for 75 runs.
4 Raging Bears
15 Lead Sprinklers
4 Gatling Guns
4 Warlords
and there were 4 instances where 2 dedicated drops happened at the same time.
I don’t know if 2 or more dedicated drops happening at once is new and if this can happen for others that have more than one assigned drop.

I farmed billy 100 times and didn’t get Raging bear so first time ever I gave up on a farm in a BL game

That’s pretty crappy RNG. I have about 20 Ragings Bears stockpiled with crappy passives. I can send some your way if you like. I’m on PC.

Which means your odds of getting a Raging Bear is only about 5%.
And how long did one full run take you?
A run was was around how long Autobear lasted plus the time to get to Billy from the spawn point and check loot. I didn’t actually time a run but went by fast enough.

This seems to be a consistent issue. This game does not drop enough loot on M4. If you can’t get an Iron Bear after 100 tries how can you expect the ‘perfect’ anointment on a gun, let alone the vanilla version of a gun.

I just played M4 Saughter Shaft for the afternoon with a luck booster shield, a luck artefact, and with 12.8% bonus stat luck… I certainly didn’t get increased luck for anointed items…
After several hours here are my rewards for playing with a much reduced loadout - thinking that it might help me get anointments. The only thing I gained was less money, and more cynicism…
It just makes me so sad.

Update:
I’ve had a bit better RNG over the last 2 hours using the combo decribed above.
I feel motivated again… Worth a try. Survival is alot harder with this sheild, but I think it might be worth the increased pain…
I need more user feedback.

My understanding is that luck doesn’t help legendaries/annointments drop, it just makes more blues drop. I’d do more research before taking my word for it, though

Right there is a common b misconception about this game.
Mayhem levels have ZERO EFFECT on dedicated loot drops.
Turning on Mayhem 1 scales enemies and loot to your level, but with dedicated loot drops Mayhem settings and Luck have no effect of any kind, you have the exact same odds at Normal mode with no Mayhem as you do on TVHM at M4.

Think it might have an effect on anointment chance, but agree that it doesn’t affect dedicated drop chance.
M4 doesn’t increase drop rates that much anyway. It only goes from around +500% quality (M3) to +700% quality, for such a massive increase in HP/shield/armour. It’s only worth it if you have a really high level build or you’re hunting M4 only gear. Otherwise you can kill more enemies in the same time on a lower difficulty and get just as much high quality loot.

Based on what I have seen through hundreds and hundreds of farming runs is that Mayhem and Luck both effect what types of world drop items that are dropped with a fairly linear scaling in the number of world drops as you go higher in Mayhem.
So with world drops not only do you get more drops at higher mayhem levels, but you also get a higher level of gear. There are certain guns and items that are more common at some mayhem levels than others.

Moar pain indeed.
I’ve been farming the final two bosses on the dlc for about 6 hours total, and all I have to show for it is a couple green and blue annointed shields.
Every single item that’s dropped from the bosses has been either non annointed, or slide or airborne or (bad) other class rolls.
On TVHM M4, how grindy does a game need to be if at all? Afraid people will stop playing? That scale tips both ways, be too stingy with rewards and people will drop this game faster than a chest dropping a level 49 pistol.
Yep I am close to throwing my PS4 at someone, as a Christmas present to myself.

I must confess that my luck was improved playing Slaughter Shaft - as the Sheild drops the luck boosters more close to the kill - as you are often being shot from multiple directions.
Boss farming with this sheild isn’t so good, I even shot myself a few times near the end of a Boss kill or mission reward to try and improve the luck…

I am glad in the dlc at least the bosses are actually dropping their dedicated loot, and sometimes even the target enemies are, but it’s just the dlc and 90% of the time the items they drop aren’t annointed for some reason on tvhm M4.
In the rest of the game however, it’s still a ghost town with dedicated drops unless you have horseshoes for feet and four leaf clovers for hands.

don’t forget that sweet 94% sham. I still to this day have not had one drop, and I have farmed the bejeezus out of bunker

If I remember correctly the Sham would drop in Tiny Tina’s DLC from some tree enemies. I remember farming there for it. I’m pretty sure it was the Sham.
I also got one from killing Hector in the Lilith DLC.
