Whats your favorite faction

In beta I hated the Eldrid, but since the release they’ve jumped to being tied for my favorite with the Jennerit. The Rogues are a close second.

I’d say, what are my least favorite factions actually :stuck_out_tongue:
Eldrid by far, Rogues second. Can’t find a character I like in either of them two factions yet!

Oh gods… why would you ask us to choose?!

I’d have to say rogue on principle. I can relate to being the outcast and gravitated towards Krieg in BL2 for that very reason too. They’re relatable. I love Rath, but not the arrogance of the Jennerit. I love Phoebe but not the aristocratic theme of the LLC. I love OM but not the militarised nature of the UPR. I love Mellka, but the Woodland elf/dwarf isn’t anything new or different to get overly excited about. I love all the characters though, so I’m picking based on the overall themes of the factions here!

Jennerit for sure, I like being an anti-hero and they all embody that. Obviously it is the most unstable faction, combative and original home of Rendain. I like flawed characters and the stories within are awesome. Attikus is freeing his people, Ambra is disgusted with all the heathen Varelsi, Caldarius is a bitter former champion, etc. They are likeable for being unlikeable.

I’m very surprised so many people find rogues so attractive. They’re a bunch of hobos to me))

I’d go with UPR and LLC. UPR for Mike, Montana and Ghalt, LLC for their technology. Among Eldrid I like Mellka and Boldur very much, but not the faction itself.

Rogues, before Beta even started, Toby. I Main. Plus I am sure in the fanart section, if you go to create a battleborn, 80% are all rogue based, since they are the most developed team with the best unofficial leader any faction could have.

I’d probably have to say the Eldrid, mainly because I love Thorn…
But I probably use more Rogue characters, haha…
I tend to use Thorn, Toby, Orendi, Deande…
And I’m now learning Shayne and Aurox, which I also really like, and question why I didn’t use them sooner!

Eldrid, LLC seems to money focused, Rogues are just cray, Jenerit… enough said :stuck_out_tongue: and peacekeepers are alright but Eldrid are just quirky and cool.

In tearms of actual gameplay, ive mastered a PK an Eldrid and a LLC so, but i think overall i play Eldrid a bit more then others.

I think there are probably the most Eldrid characters that I like, but I think if you described all the factions to me and and didn’t know any of the characters, I would probably like the Rogues the most.

Eldrid is my favourite faction because of Thorn. Maxed her out and now 80% done on “Master of Thorn”

Next favourite would be the Rogue cause I love Whiskey Foxtrot. IMO Whiskey Foxtrot > Oscar Mike.

Least favourite would be LLC.

So many hobos in here!

I don’t see where you see aurox caring about her…
I also don’t see how Aurox cares about Shayne. He literally wishes to kill her! Maybe I missed something then, I guess?
You missed the subtext. That’s okay! A lot of people do. Subtext is hard.

It’s found in how he behaves. He dislikes seeing her get hurt, which he’ll often scream about (you’ve never heard him scream ‘Shayne’ in fury and panic when she gets hurt?); The way he banters with her is often trying to meet her half-way; He invites her to engage in demonic activities with him, despite supposedly wanting to destroy her; He helped her deface a ship; And he’s willing to ‘jazz hands’ with her, which seems contrary to his nature. In fact, all of their emotes show an appreciation for one another.

There are a lot of little tells like that. He respects her, and he appreciates just how much courage she has despite everything. Shayne & Aurox have a complicated relationship. But that’s why I love this game. It’s not clever on the surface, it’s all very intentionally hidden, and you have to dig a little to understand it all.

Believing that there’s no reciprocation from Aurox is like believing that Oscar-Mike is nothing more than a soldier-man meant to appeal to Halo players. Both are patently not true.

And that’s all you’re going to see if you just shallowly look at what’s on the surface. Which is easy to do and it’s what a lot of people do, yes. I’m an autistic introvert, though, so introspection is just second nature to me.

I see it, there. And for me it’s really easy to see.

And I said that that’s only true from the perspective of them being outcasts and misfits that wouldn’t have a home anywhere else. It’s just a shallow way of looking at it, and I’m not a shallow person.

Again, if all you care is for a surface-level glance, barely taking in any data at all.

Edit: And I actually meant what I said not as sarcasm. Subtext is hard, I wish it wasn’t. I do wish more people were naturally introspective because it’d make communication easier.

I guess LLC, because it’s the faction of my favorite and best character, Phoebe. Also, it has ISIC and Marquis, and they are just hilarious. I guess Rogues is a close second considering it has my second favorite character, Orendi, plus Shayne & Aurox are awesome and Toby is adorable.

Rogues because for all intents and purposes; they chose to form as a group (under Reyna) when others felt they couldn’t offer anything to the save-the-universe-cause.

One of Toby’s lore texts for example where the UPR wouldn’t have him based on his appearance. People find WF broken and dysfunctional and yet he imo comes across as being a OM clone with a personality, playing his own piano, if you will. ( I also feel that OM has a slight individuality over other clones but chooses to keep within the norm and be with the UPR: I reference the WF lore pic showcasing the police-mikes as WF and OM stand apart from the rest for a reason, at least to me.)

Also I love that Aurox’s scientific name iirc translates to “space-guano” as far as the lore stated :joy: (not that he cares in the slightest, though I have a bit more to unlock for S&A)

I’m split between UPR and the LLC. Favorite from each group is Montana and El Dragon.

My mind has been mildly blown. Thank you for that. I love Sharox much more now

In all about dem Jennns. Caldy, who isn’t native to them but is a slave who rose to the top and cast of the shackles of morality. Rath, who was deceived, and so went out and killed all who deceived him, including his equals. Ambra because TUCK YOUR F****** shirt in! Deande… Because she’s fun to kill
Then probably rogues, because Orendi and Toby  oh and somebody said something earlier in this thread about the rogues doing what they want, but drawing the line at hurting others or something? Ha. Get orendi lore, the one that talks.

Definitely makes sense that I’d miss tidbits like these, personally I’m really bad with subtext. I’m very clear with my speech and always expect that that is how other people are, too.

And english isn’t my native language… Thank you for elaborating!

After my last post, I think it might be important to reveal my own subtext and why I’m so defensive of the Rogues.

Of course, some of you will all ready have caught this. Others might not have. I’ve mentioned all ready that I’m autistic. Throughout the course of my life, people have mixed that up with nearly every wrong-headed thing they could. Remedial, psychotic, sociopathic, schizophrenic, mentally ill, et cetera.

What I’ve found is that when dealing with an autistic person like myself, neurotypicals can be very unpleasant. And their reactions can be anywhere from exploitative to outright abusive. As such, I’ve never really fit in around your everyday neurotypical.

Not just that, but most neurotypicals are extraverted and as such they’re going to only see things on the surface without ever really digging deeper than that, that’s their thing. Numerous studies have shown that introverts and autistic people have a more accurate perception of reality – not because of any particular gulf of intelligence, but rather just because extraverts don’t introspect much.

I get excited when a game like Battleborn comes along that invites me to dig deeper to discover the true nature of things. And the Rogues were appealing to me based upon my real life experiences. The’re a group who’d experience bigotry and oppression anywhere else. It’s a romantic notion for people who simply can’t fit into societal roles to have somewhere like that.

And that’s something that connects them, they’ve all experienced some kind of bigotry. This factor is present in all their lore. I mean, most obviously Whiskey Foxtrot, but even mech-pilot Toby’s lore is about it where he couldn’t join the UPR.

Why’d Reyna take Shayne in? Because she understood there was more to the relationship she had with Aurox rather than master and slave. Other people would show anger, confusion, even active bigotry and hatred toward her. Reyna knew she had nowhere else she could have gone, and that’s why she allowed Shayne & Aurox to stay with the Rogues.

Basically, Reyna saw in Shayne & Aurox what I did, if she hadn’t, I doubt she would’ve allowed them to stay.

Many people are only going to look at things and see what’s on the surface. Throughout my life I’ve had people who’ve looked at me and seen me as someone who’s crazy, bonkers, or even just unnecessarily contrarian. As though my very being I’ve fashioned to get under their skin. And they won’t look any deeper to even understand that I don’t really have a choice.

So when people just take a casual glance at something at go with the most overly shallow perception which really doesn’t take in any of the relevant information? It can be something that’s grating to me.

It can hit a bit too close to home.

So I’m against shallow perspectives and I’ll dig to discover whatever evidence I can. I just wanted to share my findings about the Rogues and Shayne & Aurox. I’m sad that there are those who can’t appreciate them as I do, but I can’t say I’m surprised.

In closing, I won’t post any more on this. I’ll just agree to disagree.

Edit: Oh, and I didn’t look at the replies, sorry. I’m too nervous to. I can be quite timid and the last thing I want is to be involved in a big Internet argument, which was never my intent. My hope with this post is to disarm things.

Honestly I wanted to answer but I’ll just keep it to myself… too lazy to read these walls of text
