Which Character Should I Play As?

Team-Bonusses = Bonusses for everyone in the whole party, yourself included.

Pretty much all of the Brick builds I have seen have a healthy foundation in the Tank tree, and then branch and further specialize from there. Not to say that a Blast Master build will have as many points in Tank tree as it does in Blaster tree, but a lot of points will be there.

Also, I see a lot of people new to Brick who dislike how often they’re going down and that peeves me cause taking a knee with Brick can be a legitimate and worthwhile strategy.

Diehard is amazing.
Diehard gives you an epoch and a half to get a Second Wind. The Grim Reaper will die of old age waiting for you to die.
Diehard increases the health you get back on reviving. Your puny foes will fear the immortal demon they have angered.
Diehard brought three steaks over as a gift for you to grill. I worked in a deli and know all the best cuts.
Diehard is a cool guy, but feels underappreciated and just wants some friends. Call me.

If you ever think you’re close to getting downed, get as close to your enemies as you can and keep cover between you and them to a minimum. Diehard will give you time to soften a few of them up before you get back up again.

Is unbreakable buggy? It never seems to activate. If I avoid gunfire when my shield is depleted, I don’t notice anything different, and if I continue to receive gunfire my shield doesn’t increase either.

IIRC it has to go back to full shields before it activates again. You can’t chain it without your shields refilling.

And it doesn’t activate while you’re Berzerking, yeah…

Huh. I didn’t know that. I generally don’t Berserk unless I’m regenerating health, but I’ll keep that in mind. I really need to pick up BL again…

You really should. Returning to BL1 is like going back to an old homestead and being flooded with good memories. It just feels good.

Do you find Blood a bit op? Feels it where I’m at…

No, I mean it haven’t noticed it activate at all ever since I got it.
Do I have to carefully watch my shield levels or something?

If you have 5/5 or less in it, a lower capacity shield, and are taking a lot of damage from multiple enemies, then it’s possible that Unbreakable will be overwhelmed and you won’t actually notice it working. Also, if you’re running melee, then Unbreakable won’t work at all while you’re in Berserk mode.

Ok, so it turns out it does work, its just really subtle, and its easy to miss in a firefight. No bug, I’m just blind :disappointed_relieved:

There’s similarities in the sniper tree but the two are so different. One specializes in pistols in one tree and Zero has more focus on melee. While he can be a glass cannon (Mordecai) if you have a good distance weapon and nades along with blood wing he can work quite effectively. But anyway so many characters can be good if you know your skills, how to use them, and the gear to use.

Sorry for necroing this thread, but also sorry for not replying to you. I remember having something to say and then wimping out. Left you hanging.

I would agree that Zero and Mord are different in big ways in some places, but still share many differences. Yes, they are similar in their sniping trees, but they both have boosts to pistol gameplay and melee gameplay. They both are the frailest of their group of peers, but they also deal the most damage per hit compared to anybody else.

Mordecai has an entire tree focused on pistols, Zero has a COM focused on pistols(Stalker).
Zero has an entire tree for melee gameplay, Mordecai has a COM for melee(Truxican Wrestler).

I now remember why I hesitated to reply, as no matter how I worded it whatever post I could think up came off as defensive and possibly argumentative. I think it was one of those things where you were standing up for Mordecai clarifying he is not a comparatively weak character(he isn’t) because OP could’ve read my previous post that way.

Isn’t it grand?

Sometimes reviving is a positive thing for sure. This thread after reading from the start has made me start a new Brick, a character which I had not played previously.

Good stuff, thanks!

The new Brick I mentioned, inspired by this thread is now fully complete level 69, all side quests complete with only leaving a few open at T-bone Junction.

Great character and I ran him in a Blast Master build to match the com.
