Add plus when crouched and I’m in!
You haven’t lived in the Borderlands until you have killed yourself with a slide-anointed Flakker.
Nope. Their sole purpose is to dilute the loot pool. Now you know.
I also hate these two annointments, and almost always nearly sell them. Although, I have used the sliding annointment with Zane on occasion, but there are just so many better options that these should be removed, combined into one, or buffed in some way. I can’t really understand the airborn annointment, I mean I don’t want to constantly jump while shooting enemies. I also really dislike the slam bonuses on other gear, as it seems pointless for nearly every build.
I thought everyone did?!
It makes you harder to hit, so I’ve basically played shooters that way for decades. I don’t jump religiously every second of the game or anything, but I am jumping around a lot.
As for the sliding one, I don’t use it much, but it obviously feeds in nicely to speed-based Zane builds
Its good for the Lucky 7 Pistol when you get that one lucky roll that does a ton of damage…it allows you to keep it up.
This isn’t cs go xD
The AI doesn’t get confused or is having any difficulty, following your movements
Hehe. Yeah, probably a habit from PvP shooters.
But while I dunno about enemies with bullet-based guns, jumping definitely helps avoid the slow moving projectiles like rockets in BL3. If you jump erratically from time to time, the enemies often end up firing while you’re in mid-air…and by the time the rocket reaches you, it whizzes over your head.
Plus, jumping often helps in various other contexts - eg. being able to shoot over obstacles/terrain, or shooting over the ring-shields of those new cartel robots. So yeah, I don’t act like I’m on a pogo stick, but depending on the situation I do end up doing it a fair bit
I jump a good bit as Zane as it’s a faster way to move thus increases damage and I still groan audibly every single time I see these anoints pop up because they are just still titanically useless in comparison to stronger drops
I also jump from time to time
But not to increase my dps
That’s just not very thought out from GBX
I’ve since realized after posting this that I jump around more than I thought. It’s not due to any kind of tactics or avoidance but rather, there are soooo many map issues i’m constantly getting stuck and have to jump to keep moving. There are so many places that “looks” like you can just walk straight through, only to realize, you have to jump over an invisible object to continue. I just find myself coming to a dead stop on things, that for all practical purposes, shouldn’t be happening.
I’ve found numerous stairs that when reaching the top floor i can’t just keep walking or running, but have to jump because the stairs and floor are not meshed for some reason.
Add in a bunch of enemies, and I find myself jumping around a bunch.
While logged out suffer 100% less from useless anointments.
Best. Yet. Ever.
Almost 200 runs in M10 to get Skullsmasher. I got 2. Both with while sliding anointment … on a sniper…
This is the current drop rate, this is the current anointments management.
@GrfxGawd Good one!!
Sliding damage is fairly usable, depending on the character. It’s among the better ones you can get for Zane (although not top notch) and pairs nicely with his Antifreeze COM and Violent Momentum.
At least the damage based ones are alright, though I have to admit that airborne/sliding accuracy is pretty pointless.
I used to like Slide-based Anoints because they synergise well with Zane (as mentioned). It’s a good boost for stripping shields off of a boss, particularly with something like a Shock Vanquisher (hilarious combination, for the record) and a Snowdrift artifact.
That said, they’ve definitely fallen out of the current meta. They need improving, supporting with better Guardian Perks, or preferably both.
I know this is a little off-topic, but since we are already talking about bad anointments… Has anyone ever used the 25% crit ASE anoint?
I have to confess I don’t know exactly how damage is calculated, but to me it kind of sounds like it would just be strictly inferior to 100% gun damage ASE, even on crits…
Sliding sometimes is usable but 95%+ of the weapons (and viable ones) it’s a waste of anointment. Especially with crit dmg if not playing Fl4k.
This is what I said since the beginning. There is no anointments management, to be mapped as applicable for only some items.
Yes and buff the bonus to 75% to make it useful.
It’s annointments like this one that help dilute the good loot and makes it even harder to find the version of a weapon you want.
