In terrible need of a dmg buff. At least to make him on par with Mike in terms of DPS. Probably the most underpowered character in the game.
AS long as your shooting above 50% accuracy he is perfectly able to kill most things.
Any character even an underpowered one is capable of going on big kill streaks if the player playing him/her is skilled enough. The question is if you have 2 or 3 players of equal skill how does Whiskey do against someone like OscarMike, or Ghalt? I can easily dominate with OscarMike or Marquis both of which require good accuracy in a match but when I switch to Whiskey I get destroyed. The fact that so may other people have conveyed a similar message to me sounds like good evidence that he is underpowered. There was a survey done on reddit with hundreds of people that came up with similar results.
you raise a good point but personal skill is something that cant be adjusted for. Personaly i had no issues vs mike but than again you really do need to have to equally skilled players testing like characters if you want to go as far as saying they are perfectly balanced. Its just not that easy to do unfortunately.
Iâll give this example, my K:D ratio with OscarMike is 4:1. and my K:D ratio with Whiskey was 1:2 (Thatâs 2 deaths per kill). It seems as though other people have had similar experiences to me.
But they play differently, if you play WF as you would OM then you will die more. He doesnât have the survivability of mike and thats so they donât just have a clone. If you can land stickys reliably he can bring a world of hurt. Regardless its up for the devs to decide, I just want to play it again already
Doooo they play that much different? I was pretty accustomed to playing Oscar Mike and Whiskey Foxtrot both like snipers, aimed for the head all the time for both. Problem is Oscar Mike has awesome AoE damage and an amazing get away. Whiskey Foxtrot doesnât have either, and because heâs an âassassinâ they try to stack more damage abilities on him, but those damage abilities donât do enough damage.
I should be able to run up behind someone, shotgun blast them for half life at LEAST (simultaneously blowing me back to safe distance thanks to helix) and now Iâm in position to finish off with burst rounds to the head.
BUT instead we have a super lack lustre shotgun blast that is NOT worth getting close enough to use and itâs NOT scary enough to punish melee attackers for getting to close.
You said it before I could warrenchotowerz7
Buttsy16 to be honest any character on this game can do pretty well in terms of K/D if they play the character right, but when you are on a stacked match (10 players of very high skill level) itâs always the person who uses whiskey Foxtrot that gets the short end of the stick. They were always the one getting KOâd, werenât able to help push lanes, hold a position, or do damage nearly as good as the other players, and with well reason, their character was lacking. Why sticky for only 200+ damage one time when Thorn can just AoE for 140 a second for 6 seconds (which is also easier to aim I may add)?
Me and my pre-made would get excited about another 4-5 pre-made and how it would be a challenge and if we seen one of them using whiskey foxtrot weâd be like âOh itâs just whiskey foxtrotâ and weâd push lanes like we were playing 4v5, and it worked.
Yep, there it is, he may be a good character, but compared to what others can do, just use a better character, you have 25 different options and 5 slots to fill, SURELY you can choose and be better with any character than WF. And thereâs no excuse that someone else picked YOUR character, you start out with 5, using a character you are unaccustomed too will achieve better results.
That person was just a bad whiskey period you guys kill me with this bull crap hes not nearly as good as other characters you say but then if and when they buff him and hes wrecking you mercilessly you will be the first to ask for nerfs. His stickyâs can be upgraded to napalm to deal dmg over time he can shoot 3 pools of fire at a time he is more then perfect for lane pushing. He can even snipe enemy sentry shield and deal dmg to the first one from back in his own base. And he has one of the best rifles for head shot and weak point sniping ask your self is whisky bad or is the person playing him just total trash. Whisky Is at his core a crit dmg based assassin meant to strike at an opponents weak spot if you try and do to much as whiskey your just asking to be a weak link on your team.
So youâre saying he performs the role of Marquis right? Why not JUST BE MARQUIS then?
No, he is far too nerfed to want a nerf once they finally buff him to a correct level.
Now you just putting words in my mouth you can also say that about thorn also as she can cheese sentry shields as well. Its Whiskeys job to a just his kit to fit your teams composition if your team lacks sniper support whiskey can fill in that roll its a part of his kit. If your missing a mid lane pusher and harasser he can do it as well. How whiskey performs is based on how well the player playing him can a just to the partyâs needs at the time this is what makes whiskey a versatile character. He can snipe like marquis yes he mite not one shot but he can dam sure defend his â â â â at close range unlike marquis who tends to panic and flee.
On reddit someone did a survey of BB open beta players to rank characters from S+ (very OP) to F (very UP), & the only character to get a D or F was Whiskey Foxtrot. There was some weird placement around the middle but most were only off by a grade, w/ Galilea alone near the top and Ambra (based on pre-nerf impressions as well) just below, but WT alone at the bottom.
His problem stems from a lack of versatility, & not enough damage from abilities to make up for his lack of anything else (CC, mitigation, mobility). All of the things it says he is - Versatile, Assassin, Easy - feel really wrong, heâs hard to learn to play well, a damaging harasser, other âEasyâ characters are easier, other âVersatileâ characters are more versatile, other âAssassinâ characters are better at quick kills. He would be one of those characters that never gets picked in competitive play.
Whisky when you fully understand how to use him is a easy to use Crit DMG based assassin character that can chose Between being a sniper with good Lane harassment and minion clear to being a complete skirmisher with outstanding dmg. Most the dmg a good whiskey player will do to you comes from hitting weak spots similar to how caldarius can hit a target weak spot with his TMP. Whiskeys rifle has little to no recoil as well as amazing accuracy to be able to hit crit spots from both long distances and in close range skirmishes.
Youâre describing a WF that I have never seen.
Heâs just as squishy as Marquis in my opinion with marquis having better getaway tools. His crits do less damage than Marquis. As for Thorn I really donât prefer her either but her abilities are better. So all-in-all if I want to play someone like Thorn or Marquis Iâm just going to play Thorn and Marquis.
As for understanding how to use him, by the time youâve figured out how to make him work you could have been using and learning a better character lol.
Honestly if heâs wrecking me after being buffed I wouldnât ask for a nerf, but honestly I donât see that happening as even with the nice Ghalt buff (which he needed) he was still easy to take out.
And look at what your going by, all his augments. You canât get the three pools of fire until level 7 I believe, which is way to late into the game to be considered a threat. Alot of characters can punish or in this post snipe, enemy sentry from a distance, and 2 others snipe from their base. That doesnât mean heâs more viable as a character as overall with his minimal damage you are better off just using a melee character instead and pushing lanes.
Right now WF is just a character than can kinda do everything but they are all low factors to really stand out.
Whiskey is not easy to use, granted heâs one of the easier characters to get crits but that doesnât mean he is easier to use. His sticky alone is probably the hardest ability to connect on this game, same with his flak cannon. And truthfully with what you saying how versatile he is, wouldnât it be more feasible for your team to just pick the role they need with another job instead of getting mediocre results with WF? Cause with his current build thatâs what you are going to get as opposed to the other characters.
How hard whiskey is to play or any character for that matter is a matter of opinion because you can have some one who is a complete fails at marquis or thorn but is good at using whiskey hell i have had a friend who cant use rath to save his life. Why Pick whisky over the over thorn or Marquis as a sniper well if your reading this the first sentence or two should tell you why and again its one of the rolls he can ease into thanks to his Kit. If you already have a sniper on you team Build him as a mid range harasser and Lane pusher another roll he is quite good at.
You have to know before hand what your going to do as whiskey and from lvl 3 onward his entire kit revolves around his LvL 3 choice of scope thatâs a fact. Honestly i dont see how you think the scrap cannon is hard to use you can build it to punch out shields or for defensive CC with knock backs or you can mode it for Anti stealth and DMG buffer. And even before he gets his napalm augment his grenades are easy to use and help deal with Minons and big body targets like Kevin Montana Ghalt Shayne ect napalm just gives them some added utility but even its not totally necessary it just depends on your playstyle tbh.
Again its to early to say if he needs a buff or a nerf because legendary gear makes a huge difference for any character i got a legendary gear that effects gave me life steal on skill dmg combined with whiskeys triple threat grenades and 3 charges in scrap cannon as well as his regen on kill augment i was neer unkillable as a skirmisher at lv5 when escorting minion waves.
Kudos for managing to get his legendary gear lol.
I didnât get his legendary gear i got that particular legendary for getting command rank 100 his legendary gear is not in game yet completing the lore gave you reynas gear.
