Who else likes the Calypso Twins?

Yes he’s certainly sadistic by the events of bl2, but his actions don’t carry the amount of hatred and general ruthlessness as they do post-bunker. He’s almost playing around with you, wasting time to see how long it takes you to die. It’s not until we take something personal away from him that he shows his darkest sides.

I like them, wish they were a bit older though. They seem like they are like maybe 12 with how they look facially, and how they act at times.

I put them in a tie for 3rd best Villian(s) behind General Knoxx and Handsome jack and tied with Evil Claptrap

What about Scarlett and Hector tho

They’re good villians, and Troy gave me a legit reason at the end of the Promethea arc to hate him.

You can also feel bad for them and understand why they’re doing what they’re doing if you imagine being in their shoes with what we learn about them.

Can’t really discuss that without spoilers, but there are clear and understandable reason.

The parent aspect reached me… cant say more. But I liked the story.

Like, Follow and Obey

If you listen to the way they describe their upbringing I found it really understandable how they develop into a place of power. Bandits; seemingly bred for war but with no war to fight they are left going crazy killing eachother; giving them a reason to fight, AND unite. I like them; the most irritating thing for me is all the head turning from Tyrene.

It was something like they had a bad father who wouldn’t let them leave.

But this was glossed over in like 5 lines of dialogue and never gets into why this caused them to become sociopaths.

I find them serviceable EvilDoers.

GBox replayed the Jack one-step ahead thing again, to workman like effect.

I think they under did Lilith here at campaign end. The could have packed a lot more of what she has gone through (losses) into story end.

So far they are OK. To be honest, they actually seem like the normal ones compared to all the poop and scream personalities in the game.

Part of what I wonder now is the paid DLC’s. Will they continue the main story as like additional chapters or be sort of one off things like BL 1 and 2 if we don’t count the 5th dlc that was added much later.

What if the Calypso’s were actually just being used as tools by someone else… or something else…

What if we get invaded by Spaceballs?

What if the world of Battleborn is actually a future of Borderlands were we dun went and F’ed up?

What if we introduce Bandits to Soylent Green?

I was itching like hell to kill them way before the end so ya they were good villians to me.

I got a hunch the xpacs will be adding planets in a search for you know who… No Spoilers lol

i like them a lot

Sometimes you have to think for yourself.

This isn’t how good storytelling is done, especially in the context of a videogame/movie.

This is the equivalent of a Joker origin story that shows Joker as a kid, then a text overlay saying ‘stuff went wrong’ and then a picture of the Joker.

Yes you are. LOL, kidding. But, personally, I find them repugnant.

This is the only thing that keeps me going in the main story is that these are just parodies of this group of streamer culture…still doesn’t absolve them from being absolutely irritating. I wish an option would be to skip cut scenes after one finishes the game so I don’t have to listen to them anymore after my playthrough is done.

Jesus, it’s like you follow me to every thread I participate in just to start an argument.

No, it isn’t bad storytelling, ESPECIALLY for a video game.

There are multiple pieces to the puzzle of why the twins are such garbage. It’s not just one single entry talking about where they’re from. There’s many pieces that are given out throughout the game and if you can’t think for yourself to put those pieces together then that’s on you for not being able to think and analyze information that’s been given to you.

Honestly though, is there a way to block people on this forum? This guy following me around is kind of creepy af.

Uh, you responded to my post first here, not vice versa.

Compare the development of the Twins in BL3 to Handsome Jack in #2. There isn’t a single moment close to the death of Angel, or Bloodewing. Not because the Twins don’t do bad things - but because you never really get deeper than ‘these are bad guys’.

We got to loathe Jack. Then we got to understand him. We never really got to know the Twins.

No. There’s no reason to do that.
