Who is honestly going to play all Mayhem 2.0 levels?

What Build are you running?

To be honnest this system of Mayhem seem … meh.

I mean if it’s just a matter of farming gear to jump to a better difficulty, then how will the game handle chest?

I mean I just need to jump to M10 and go farm the Handsom jackpot with a running build and I get the weapon to cheat myself into this difficulty

Same goes for the fact that some build are so imbalanced (IE Anarchy) that you can jump difficulty and get to M10 in no time.

in diablo you loot the same gear, just more of them, meaning that when you’re feeling too op, you raise difficulty to keep the game interesting and be rewarded with better gear, which was the logic of Mayhem 1.0.

Now if we go into Mayhem 2.0 with the mindset that M10 gear are better, at some point you"re full M10 and you have no way to tweak the difficulty to raise the challenge to your new level of power.

All in all : Very surprising developement

This is what I was trying to say albeit poorly lol I hope the new mayhem 2.0 is basicly this from diablo 3 where all mayhem levels are worth playing and its more about choosing higher ones for more challenge

in diablo 3 you can set the torment level to whatever you like, with gear drops and xp increasing the higher you go. the difficulty you play then becomes your own choice based on gear and skill and yes, if you set it too high, you only last 10 seconds or so lol.

not sure if the diablo community ever had issue with that system as i didnt frequent their forums.

warframe was similar in a way with endless missions i guess in that you went as far as your skill and gear allowed before bailing out.

its all about choice really and covering options from everyone from casual player with random it of gear upto leet players who have min maxed their gear and skill. i am not sure how else you could create a game to cover everyones requirements other than whats being done here or in diablo torment levels.

never checked the blizz forums but d3s torment levels where awesome and part of the reason they never nerfed any thing

Meh I loved d3 not fussed about d2 die harders

  • edit guessing you hate d3 though lol

I’ve never looked at builds, its my own, likely similar to most builds using phasegrasp I assume. Classmod is Spiritual Driver, to boost Shock Damage with that one Artifact that boosts the damage of the element you’re afflicted with, with Transformer Shield of course.

Stats on classmod and artifact boosts pistol damage (Hellshock Pistol), weapon damage, think one has shock damage bonus too, the others are meh lul.

I have not heard from anyone or have seen anything eluding to forced Mayhem leveling. I am under the belief that as we have now, Mayhem levels can be played in any order at any time.

its a terrible game in terms of character building, itemization, atmosphere, lore and replayability
i mean, you can basically take a character and kinda “play for ever”
you will just not really enjoy it
so i hope that gearbox will never look at them when making decisions about endgame or itemization xD

yeah I’m just speculating is all tbh I won’t know till gearbox bring it out

tbh I enjoy playing d3 but it’s like borderlands for me I play when I feel like it been playing re3 and doom eternal lately tbh doom eternal was a let down

I’ve been playing Doom Eternal as well. Absolutely LOVE that game and the soundtrack is amazing! I’m sure I’m not in the minority but this last levelcap increase I drastically reduced farming. In fact, just about every friend I have that plays the game did the same in anticipation of Mayhem 2.0. No one has the time to re-farm an entire bank of gear. Collect a few of the essentials and wait for the bigger jumps in levelcap seems to be the new Mantra. Fill in the time with some Doom Eternal and social distancing doesn’t seem to bad

yeah it was a good game but it was more a Mario mortal kombat with a small amount of doom sprinkled in lol I swear most of the platforming in that game was just to pad out the games play time I want to SHOOT demons not melee kill and chainsaw kill them with some shooting that’s what got to me yes it was fun and felt cool but it didn’t really feel like much of a fps like the original doom did

I need to see exactly how Mayhem 2.0 is set up before determining my approach.
Until then I don’t like wasting time with speculation as that can often lead to disappointment if there is too much hype.
I hope the different levels have some meaning, but we will see.

Yeah but I gotta do some thing while farming the boom sickle on my moze lol

Que up Amara’s voice:
“Oh, oh… also me!”

Depends. In BL2 I took Maya to OP8 (the highest at the time) and had a lot of fun with her at that level. But I kept Axton at OP2, despite unlocking higher levels (I think I got to OP6) because I found the game wasn’t that enjoyable with him any higher than that. And I’m all about the fun factor. Given my experience with all the VH in BL3 so far I suspect I might be doing something similar. I can see me getting Zane higher, and probably Amara, too. FL4K and Moze not so much.

Heck, I mostly avoid M3-4 as it is…

The D2 crowd is ridiculous on that forum. If you go almost anywhere else, D3 is highly praised by both critics and players alike. Personally, I think Diablo has the best loot system in the business when it comes to how it handles targeting specific items, difficulty scaling and character balancing.
