I care for melee, but it’s not my preferred or primary battle strategy.
She can be built just like Maya if you loved her, and if you didn’t then you can get in the bin. I think Amara has the most exciting gunplay options, she can go from being a glass cannon to a face tank and has mastered Brick’s “Punch-you-in-the-face-until-you-die” fighting style. What can Moze do? tHrOw GrEnAdEs. Rubbish, get in the bin.
My best BL2 character is a Twisted Pimp Maya…she by far has the most hours to date, and while I don’t want just a straight-up rehash of her I’m at a point where I’m kinda questioning my choice of Zane to start with (but some of that is probably due to hitting Promethea and immediately being under-lvl’d…welcome back to TPS).
I’d planned on trying to lvl up Zane tomorrow afternoon, but I may well start Amara instead and see how that goes.

I play Moze. I use Vladof mortar guns and a low level storm front grenade for ammo gain, more fun than punching, raining terror on the enemies. Puts Torgue guns to shame.
Off topic, I actually love Tyreen. I’m so over these posts about how the Calypsos didn’t live up to Handsome Jack. Mate, BL2 was a massive hit and Handsome Jack has become one of the most iconic video game villains of the decade, if not all time. If we stop comparing her to her predecessor, which is unfair, she was actually a lot of fun. Every time I watch that cutscene of her leeching Lilith I say it with her, “Don’t forget to like, follow, and obey!”

Tyreen is already a riot, and I’m only on Promethea…I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next. No, she isn’t Jack, but she’s not supposed to be either. And no one will replace Handsome Jack; he’d be SO proud of himself (as in - smug bastard) if he knew what a legend he is.

I’ve gotten all the characters to 40+, with Moze being 50. Can’t remember Guardian Rank, but I haven’t touched TVHM, and refuse to until more of these glitches, broken items and abilities, and other miscellaneous bugs, like consoles hard crashing, is fixed.
In my opinion, Moze is like playing Titanfall except on Borderlands.
Amara is a remake of Maya, despite popular belief.
Fl4k is possibly my favorite, but it could just be the fact of having a sidekick through the game, just like with Gaige.
Zane… Is broken, hence the broken ability excuse. He’s fun, but too many vital build defining abilities just simply don’t work.
OVERALL:
It all depends on your preference…
Do you want to play Titanfall?
Do you want to play as Maya 2.0?
Do you want to play with the mechanical offspring of Gaige and Mordecai?
Or do you want to play as Jack’s Doppleganger, Wilhelm, and Roland simutaneously?
MOZE
She only has 3 skills for melee damage and one skill that activates on melee, you can invest in her brawl tree just for the tankiness and not even brawl at all.
She’s definitely a good villain, but Troy can go to Hell. I teabagged his corpse for a solid 10 minutes… I smoked a stogy is the only reason I knew it was at least 10 minutes.
Maya was the best character, nothing wrong with 2.0, and I see Moze more of Axton and Gaige mix than Titanfall. Axton and Gaige both had a lot of shield skills, Axton had explosive buffs, and Gaige could straight up ignore her action skill.
Yea but the mech and a majority of its abilities just screech Titanfall to me.

but if you want to have some caster powers, Amara is very good
My recommendation is to play both to sanctuary, doesn’t take that long. Since we get our action skill at level 2 and getting to sanctuary you should be level 10 to 13, that means you already have a decent feel for some things and that can shape who you like best.
