Why do people think Galilea needs a nerf

Lads, don’t fall for vdhump. I remember all to well many occassion, when average or worse players hoped for keeping a broken class/character inside a PvP game in order to not fall short due to their lack of skills, capability and observance.

It’s just too typical.

I don’t lack any skill as a said she isn’t the only character I play.
I’m pretty sure I have skill when I dominate most matches with any character I use even Boulder lmao
I’m saying that I personally don’t think she needs to get hit with the nerf bat as hard as people say because
People fight her the wrong way and complain about their shortcomings because they can’t fight her in a 1v1 in Melee combat fight
You aren’t supposed to fight her like that.
She’s meant to use coordination to take her out
Im trying to get other people’s opinions because of this I don’t want to see her get nerfed as hard as ambra will because Galilea doesn’t deserve it
As I said before a slight nerf would be fine in either attack speed or damage output or shorten the stun to 1 second but either then those things she doesn’t need to have her field reduce damage or be smaller like I’ve heard
Or have her get a new passive since its “broken”

I agree 100% that she shouldn’t get a huge nerf as most people are trying to 1v1 her in melee range and expecting to win. Her huge damage comes from the staying in her puddle and her mutation that shoots beams while she is at max health. Just nerf her stun duration and lower her attack damage slightly as that will make her early game worse and allow her to be more of a late game character. Again anyone that is faster and has range can beat her without much problem in a 1v1 as long as they don’t stay and try to fight in her pool.

I forgot to mention to put her attack speed mutation higher on the helix to add more to that late game powerhouse feel.

Most people have been simply asking for a DPS nerf as to not die outright @stun…which you basically agreed with since that directly relates to attack speed. Idk why this is still even a thing, she currently has Top tier melee assassin DPS in a Tank body.

Phoebe wasnt nearly as strong as Gally back in CTT…she was nerfed and is still a great melee. Theres no reason to believe GB will kill Gally. These things arent decided by “what fans think nerfs should be” they are typically handled by dev “Q&A” who likely have FAR more knowledge/experience than anyone here.

I am surprised most people don’t see why Vdhump doesn’t believe she needs a nerf.

She’s likely his main, and enjoys being able to play well with her and get a lot of kills. If she’s balanced, he’ll lose that edge.

First time I played her, I went 15-6. She’s powerful off the bat in basic hands, and in advanced hands she’s difficult to take down.

I get you want to keep your cake, but balance is not a bad thing, vdhump.

Well I guess it doesn’t matter because she is being nerfed anyway.

Well they got their wishes granted, she and Ambra got nerfed today…I wish they would make it apply only in pvp, as I like to play as Galilea in story mode

I love her the way she is and would hate a nerf. Here’s the truth, by MOBA standards she’s a Carry.
So the trick is kill her when she’s low level, if you’re a range user hit her from as far as possible, and melee don’t even think about getting close to her end-game lol.

You want to know who is REALLY powerful? Oscar Mike, just a straight-forward dude with lava grenades for zoning, long freaking range, fully auto gun, and in the heat of things just go invisible. Not the type of invisible where you can still pretty much see them, this is almost STRAIGHT UP invisible. I’ve had wayyyyy better K/D ratios with Oscar Mike than Galilea.

Character Balance:

AMBRA

Ambra’s ability to sustain damage and keep herself alive kept her as one of the top offensive picks. By reducing the damage and survivability, we see Ambra going back into more zone control roles where she has to proactively manage her sun spots. In addition, we found the beam range to put her at a medium to long range allowing her to kite melee enemies so we reduced the range to keep her more in short range category.

Reduced melee damage by 15%
Reduced Staff of Radiance damage by 4%
Reduced passive overshield by 33%
Reduced initial range of Staff of Radiance beam by 20%
Reduced sustain range of Staff of Radiance beam by 30%

EL DRAGON

El Dragon’s damage output scaled way too high due to the passive and some bugs we found in testing. In addition, his ultimate is meant to be more damage over time so we reduced the instant damage component.

Reduced Undisputed Champ bonus damage to melee damage from 3% to 1.5% per stack
Reduced Level 5 Mutation Uncanny passive bonus damage to skills from 3% to 1.5% per stack
Reduced damage of En Fuego explosion by 62%
Reduced Clap damage by 25%
Max health has been reduced

GALILEA

We like Galilea’s ability to jump into combat and be a front line tank. However, Galilea’s high attack damage promoted a much more aggressive behavior so we reduced her attack damage and immediate health regeneration. Reducing health regeneration maintains her ability to mitigate lots of incoming damage but now requires more tactical decision making then simply soaking damage and regenerating it all on a button push.

Reduced Level 4 Left Helix Augmentation Chaotic Infusion healing per second by 50%
Reduced Greatsword damage by 15%
Reduced Level 4 Right Helix Augmentation Forsaken Grounds damage by 33%
Reduced HP regen granted by Level 5 Left Helix Augmentation Last Light by 50%
Removed 100% movement speed from Level 10 Left Helix Augmentation Deeper Than Doubt

GHALT

Ghalt’s promise of a shotgun wielding badass wasn’t being fully realized with the low damage per pellet. We wanted to reward Ghalt for closing the range so we increased the shotgun damage. Players should now see the shotgun tear through enemies in close range.

Increased Shotgun damage by 50%
Increased firing speed of Shotgun by 18%

KELVIN

A lot of Kelvin’s ability to soak damage revolves around the passive shield manipulation. Most of the shield manipulations are multipliers based off of Kelvin’s Max Shield Value which was set to a low number. Increasing the Max Shield Value increases the passive and all augmentations that manipulate the shield. With the increased survivability, Kelvin better suits the hit-and-run Defender role.

Increased Permafrost passive shield regeneration amount by 80%

KLEESE

We believe Kleese’s skills provide great area control but his base damage output was vastly underperforming. The increase to the primary attack and the secondary will reinforce some of the ranged damage loops for Kleese players.

Increased Shock Taser damage by 50%
Decreased Level 8 Right Helix Augmentation Brawn Before Brain bonus damage to 25%
Reduced Level 3 Mutation Quantum Precision charged Laser damage to compensate for Wrist Cannon damage increase

SHAYNE & AUROX

We reduced attack damage and Fetch damage to tone down Shayne & Aurox’s ability to burst down targets while maintaining all the utility attached to Shayne & Aurox’s skills. We like where Shayne & Aurox sits between a harassing defender and a potential stealth killer. Removing some of the burst damage innate to our specialized killers helps keep Shayne & Aurox in that mixed role of harasser and killer.

Reduced melee damage by 12%
Reduced damage of Fetch by 33%
Increased Level 4 Left Helix Augmentation What’s Yours Is Mine shield steal from 70% to 100%

Game Mode Balance:

INCURSION

We recognize some matches of Incursion stalling around the sentry. We’d like to iterate gradually since many changes can have huge rippling effects. We’re going to start with increasing the amount of time before a Sentry is able to begin recharging shields. We’re going to increase the time so that teams who control the push can sustain damage onto the Sentry without having to fight the complete shield every time.

Increased Sentry Shield Recharge Delay from 8 seconds to 12 seconds

Bug Fixes:

Fixed an issue with Shayne & Aurox’s stun animation
Adjusted Phoebe’s jump height
Decreased the height of El Dragon’s Dragon Splash
Fixed an issue where El Dragón’s Level 5 Right Helix Augmentation Welterweight increased Undisputed Champion bonus damage.
Replaced the ‘Unsafe’ -Health Regeneration per Second flaw on Rogue Gear with the ‘Janked’ -Healing Received flaw

Like I said I play all characters
She’s my favorite because I love her kit and she reminds me of Wonder Woman and I’m comic nerd plus Zelda references so what’s not to love
I’ve played every character I’ve unlocked and I’m only missing 4 of them
People say Galilea is broken when characters like S&A who can go 25/0 all day everyday and never take health damage because of high shield and it always recharging back to max every other second
Or guys like rath who have silence slow knock up and any other cc imaginable
Or caldarius who is almost untouchable and when you do get some hits on him he flashbangs them jumps back with his burst and he’s gone
Everyone is op in their own right each character does something well
I don’t want her to be nerfed just because people lose to her and they lack the knowledge on how to beat her

This is maybe off topic but creating a thread for it seems unnecessary. I got hit by a 470 damage shield throw. What the heck, is that intentional? I think it was due to the rebound helix that hit me multiple times.

You dominated with her after her nerf and you said she didn’t need one in the first place, you just proved yourself wrong.

That can be from the bounce or straight up skill damage gear

The pick was for the people who said I only use her for her OP ness and I proved them wrong that I have skill before and after patch
All they did was drop her regen but not her damage which is fine since I wouldn’t normally spec that way anyways but since they dropped her base damage I’m forged to take attack speed with corruption mutation to counter that and I don’t bother with its dangerous to go alone anymore because of the lower health regen but the corruption gain from shielding is nicer anyways so I’m always hitting my hardest and stealing life so it’s fine

Half the desecrate heal sure
But the
Health from corruption and her level 10 helix are both bad

It was a bit much but I still come out on top every match so people still can’t handle her and I hear people complain still.
I fought one amazing team today who countered my gal with a ghalt who pulled so well as he ripped my miko away always and the only character that would fight me was their tank bolder which was smart since he can take a beating
And their Oscar mike would rain death at me whenever I would focus anyone
They worked together amazingly
If she wasn’t nerfed she would still be hated so I’m glad people don’t resent her now
