The easycomplex/advanced labels aren’t here to say if a character is difficult to play, but if his mechanisms themselves are simple or not (several abilities that don’t interact with each other, or synergies, and so on).
Some of the hardest characters to play are in the easy or complex categories.
Whiskey is awesome and i will admit he melts things alot faster with the update so my hand isnt hurting for mashing the button. I still say he needs an auto burst tho, for the sake of having a choice for timed bursts and full bursts as some targets are just big and need to be gunned down (turrents, sentrys, summoned bots when focused on you etc).
Other than that maybe some health or movement speed? It’s just wierd that this super elite surviving character is one of the easiest to kill in PvP.
I know, he’s so squishy, and he’s live through so much more than Oscar, but still shares his health and speed? Unlikely.
Even then having allies cover your clear helps a lot and even then you can jsut run in to tag minions ath the end of their life as they get bursted by fire grenades. Boldur also has stuff to upgrade that he can easily collect shards for and thralls to clear which helps.
Because he took viagra.
Is Boldur really that great against skilled players? Honestly when I was on my premade team, we used to ignore him and focus on the more squishy and dangerous characters. During that process Boldur was not doing much damage to us.I admit he is a great tank but he doesn’t have much cc and most importantly there is no ability to bring and keep agro on him. For this reason I consider tanks to be unnecessary because a coordinated team will simply ignore them and focused fire on the more vulnerable characters. That’s my experience playing incursion. Maybe it is different on the other pvp modes that I never enjoyed.
If you’re able to ignore a Boldur without consequence, it isn’t a good Boldur. A good Boldur will force you to deal with him; he will be on you like white on rice, displacing your entire team, chasing you into and through your sentry area, and leave with little to no consequence.
And in general, having a tank/damage soak makes a huge difference, and is very essential, in high skill-level play. Coordinated teams focus fire too well, and without having someone that can take concentrated fire, a team will have a difficult time pushing and will start to be picked off one by one as enemy players start getting their Ultimates.
In my opinion, Boldur is awesome, specially Incursion, pushing the lane and tanking damage for teammate. If he’s being ignored, he’ll just keep doing damage (not much until level 5, that’s true), killing minions, going for thralls, bulding stuff, pushing lane etc. In that way, he’ll reach level 5 anyway and then he’s really dangerous for almost any character and team comp.
Boldur is one of my mains right now, but I admit I needed a lot of practice and time to become skilled with him. After that, he’s awesome in all aspects and my favourite character right now. It just a matter of climbing to level 5 the faster you can, and a good team comp always help.
We saw a lot of Boldur’s just keeping shield up and being outleveled by all enemies, and that don’t help very much.
I agree 100% with you.
A good boldur will make it to where you can’t ignore him. I play a very powerful offensive/defensive boldur. When boldur gets axe mastery you will end up paying for ignoring him. He can get 300 damage a hit and stun 2 people at once for easy double kills
Well I guess in my over 550 hours of playing pvp, I haven’t encountered a good boulder that can do that much damage while getting ignored. So far by the time he gets anyone at low health, 1-3 of his team members are dead or escaping.
I probably shouldnt have said ignored him because We used to not do it completely. I meant that we didn’t focused fire on him (unless he was alone or vulnerable) We used to stun, kite, push him away while damaging/killing his team members.
Yeah that’s good pushing him away without having him draw all of your Aggro is avoid way to counter him
Well, if you ignore him 100% he’ll just dash you into a wall and burst your crit spot and slow you.
I mean, Boldur don’t do more damage when taking damage.Otherwise, the opposite can be true at high levels. (Helix 9 and 10).
I don’t think that “ignoring” is the right way to deal with him. Just like you said, CC and kite the dwarf, kill his friends and then engage him in a 1v2 situation.
