I’ve spent the last week reading the many comments from members regarding crashes, bugs, poor drop rates and weapon scaling and annointments. It would appear that there are widespread issues and the latest hotfix did nothing to make it better, in fact it appears to have made it worse.

My question is ‘Why is Gearbox so quiet’? They have not acknowledged any these issues or given any reassurance that they are looking into our concerns and this just leaves us feeling ignored and unsupported.

I’m sure that it would help ease the frustration for many if they knew that they were being listened to and that something was being done to resolve things.

the company is probably not able to work on their highest level of productivity yet, due to corona
i am pretty sure they are trying to fix stuff
but its a bad idea to start talking too early
they are actually pretty responsive in the comments but when you start talking about things that might not even happen soon, you are putting yourself in danger
so just assume, they are doing their best and they will communicate it as soon as possible

I understand that they are struggling like the rest of us during the Pandemic and that they don’t want to admit liability but at the moment there are an awful lot of frustrated customers and saying nothing is making them feel any better.
I’m not suggesting that they publish a detailed plan of how they’re going to fix these problems, I’d settle for an acknowledgement that they realise there are issues and they are working to fix them.

they are doing their job, they do take serious of the game, when u see MH2.0 update, there was many fixs and things in this updates, that some people is waiting so long, so this is a proof, they are working on fixing and improving the game.

Many of the ‘fixes’ created even more problems and does not give me confidence that they are fixing or improving the game. the hundreds if not thousands of comments on this forum are testament to the fact that the game is not improving!

That wasn’t my point though … my point was that by being silent, Gearbox are leaving the many users that are encountering problems (myself included), hanging

@Noelle_GBX is active in threads for hotfixes and patches, e.g., Borderlands 3 Hotfix [05/07/2020]

Thanks for pointing that out.
I’ve checked through the thread and there are a couple of posts Noelle_GBX has responded to a couple of questions about rescaling chests and grenades but apart from that I can’t see any acknowledgement from Gearbox that at this moment the game fundamentally does not work as expected.

I think the way it works, if you get 1000+ posts on your thread you get a “were looking into it” trophy

What @joechung said.

@Noelle_GBX is keeping track with both issues and us :bouquet:

Perhaps you can help me by pointing out where @Noelle_GBX acknowledges that the last hotfix didn’t work and what Gearbox are doing to address the hundreds of complaints about annointments, drop rates and weapon scaling because I couldn’t see anything?

What you’re asking for is a response specifically tailored to the complaints you consider popular or significant. You’re not going to get that.

Gearbox have said they’re looking into specific issues before and it’s backfired on them (for whatever reason, split-screen improvements haven’t landed yet). I don’t blame them focusing on work internally instead of responding to every single request for more information (this isn’t me slamming you, it’s just that there have been a lot).

No what I’m asking for is a general acknowledgement that (for endgame at least) the game is fundamentally broken and that the last hotfix made things worse not better.

Oh, right. In that case I disagree that it’s fundamentally broken, and expecting a developer to agree with your opinion is unfortunately setting them up for failure.

Who knows, they could do a complete U-turn on it. But I doubt it.

what will it achieve, though? I mean, the fact that they do fix things regularly in their weekly hotfixes is a tacit acknowledgement that things need fixing, so what would responding on the threads achieve, other than drawing them into a number of arguments.

Look around these threads and it’s rare to get a consensus on anything. You have people saying it’s impossible to do M10 with regular gear, while others post videos doing exactly that. You have calls for nerfs and calls for buffs, people saying the game is too hard while others moan it’s far too easy and there’s no challenge etc etc. It’s a no-win situation for the most part and GBX are probably better off not getting sucked into it because it’s guaranteed that foe every person they’ll please they will end up upsetting another, and that will get worse when people complain that their particular issue of the day gets no airtime while others’ have had responses. They probably don’t want to touch the boards with a barge pole

Are you actually playing the game atm? The game is not working as expected; legendaries aren’t dropping at the rate they were supposed to and when they do they’re missing annointments or aren’t scaled properly.
If there’s no incentve to farm then there’s no incentive to play

I’m not asking them for a debate, I just want them to acknowledge there is a problem and they are working on fixing it

The frequent fixes are a clear indication that they’re regularly working on things, for better or worse. I’d rather they continue to focus on that than spend time on coddling and pacifying the players every step of the way like we’re fussy toddlers.

Questioning whether someone who disagrees with you is playing the game sure is a fast way to get people to stop taking you seriously.

Sorry … I’ve no problem accepting that everyone has an opinion, I was just trying to establish what you’re basing your response on. Let me put it another way … Are you happy with the current state of the game, with drop rates and the loot level?
Do you feel sufficiently incentivised to carry on playing?

“Do you feel sufficiently incentivised to carry on playing?”

I sure don’t. I would also love to hear from GB about the current state of the game. A little humility may do them good. Also when are they going to fix the one x shutdown issue? Ohhhh, right, working on it…
