That’s nice. I demonstrated how broken this game is to my brother yesterday by beating the Cistern of Slaughter on Mayhem 10 with Fl4k without ever firing a single shot. You can literally do it with only 5 items in your entire inventory.

I didn’t play during the entirety of DLC 3. I’m a min/maxer that is willing to grind for perfect guns. It was sad seeing all my guns become imperfect because they were a few levels below cap, so I decided to wait until DLC 4 came out. Now I’m back at it again.

Gunzerker: grog nozzle = win

Complain about this…

I just wish modifyers was removed Im not feeling it playing mayhem off knowing I can get stronger weapons, modifyers completely ruined my Borderlands gaming and what gets me playing again is them being removed. I’m surprised this wasn’t a option in your poll aswel as turning them off in-game.

Because GBX lost touch with its fans.

I just can’t play anymore - every character, skill, weapon, enemy, area ect. feel dull to me. Maybe I want from Borderlands something that it never was (or I just got jaded).

I expect DLC5 to be the same *hit that 4 is (several emotional scenes, which I liked, cannot carry whole DLC) - there will be no raid bosses, no arenas, no (substantially) new enemies. I hope I am wrong and will happily return in that case.

450 hours for 100 euros is pretty good deal, I guess…

I came back for the DLC and did enjoy the content. Personally I thought it was a great playthrough. Fun story with some funny moments. I’ll probably play it with one more of my characters as well.
However the end game gear grind just isn’t fun. Hunting for annointments instead of specific gear… The constant rebalancing in of weapons… The powershift every time a new dlc comes out… The constant character changes needed by the powershift… The ugly annoying mayhem2 modifiers, the fact that alot of gear is still useless in mayhem (super annoying… not even niche value) grenades are used for annointments not grenades…
I guess this is what we get with a beta test game

I know for next time now. Don’t buy day one and wait for the game to be finished and the “collection” to come out. Handsome jack collection was the way to go … and half the price of going through the beta method

I tried coming back for DLC 3 and was bored to tears after half and hour or so. There is no emotional investment in any of the NPC’s or their stories because they are all new and have no relationship to any of the main story or previous games. The narrator sounds a little like Matthew McConaughey, which is interesting, but he drones on and on and on about nothing important or exciting or funny or otherwise worthwhile. Why is it so hard for GB to understand that it is the original characters, whom we have been with since the beginning, that matter the most and that breathe life into the DLC’s? UGH, so frustrating…!

Anyways, I gave up playing again after that waste of effort. It doesn’t pay to put time into a FPS RPG game when it is constantly changing underfoot. If I wanted ever-evolving endgame content and endless bullet-sponges, farming and co-op missions, I would simply go back to playing Destiny 2. They have that formula down pat and are far superior in that arena than the Borderlands franchise will ever be.

But for me the Borderlands games have always been about the storyline, the characters and the humor first and foremost. The game mechanics, loot and the rest were only ever secondary and could be lackluster at times as long as the adventure was solid (underwhelming loot from the final boss fight of BL1, anyone?).

BL4 just looks stupid. And from what I am reading today, I am correct in my assumption.

Anywho, that is my (updated) response as to why have I stopped playing. I see others have listed DLC’s in other posts in preference order, so I am adding mine here.

1 - Handsome Jackpot - solid DLC, fun, exciting, good storyline, character development and interactions, firm tie-in with the rest of the franchise. More than happy to play through this one multiple times once they stop making changes to the base game.

2 - Tentacles - great take on Lovecraft-ian mythos. Fun environment, though there is a lot of driving around on the infinite frozen lake of do-nothing. I would enjoy multiple playthroughs more (after they stop changing the main game) if not for the Empowered Scholar. That boss is just an annoying, pointless, never-ending bullet-sponge, complete waste of time that you are forced to deal with since he is part of the main storyline.

3 - BOB - Boring On Boring. Could easily have done without it. Never even finished it. Might go back once they stop changing the base game (hopefully after fixing it) since I already paid for it.

4 - Krieg - are you freakin’ kidding me? Really? Another Crap-tastic Voyage? And, oh joy, I get to relive the pointless death of Maya. I want my money back… Of course, if they were to change the ending so that Krieg wakes up on Sanctuary and goes on a psycho, bloodthirsty rampage and slaughters Ava, hurling bloody pieces of her dead carcass out into the void of space while the rest of the crew applauded and welcomed Krieg back to the fold… THAT would make it all worthwhile and redeem GB completely in my eyes. I would start playing again immediately just to see that.

I don’t even hate Ava but man that sounds absolutely amazing. Would have been great to see Kreig go ultimate badass psycho mode and do some butchering.

Caveat:

Maya reappears out of the red mist of Ava’s innards.

THE CROWD ROARS

Literally the only way I would stop hating Ava’s guts.

Jesus ■■■■■■■ Christ… you good bro?

OMG, yes! I can picture it now. Maya secretly put a piece of herself into Ava for just this purpose. It’s all in that Siren book.

“Reincarnation!”

I never complained abouth anything before Mayhem 2.0. Not even for the meh stuff. But these modifiers really ruined my game and forced me to stop playing.

I was thinking to do another poll where I would ask what kind of solution would be preferred for the modifiers different from the existing one.

It’s simple for me … there is no end game framework to work on that isn’t repetative boss-killing. Even a randomised dungeon with a random boss encounter at the end would be better than nothing, and would certainly be better than the unrewarding Guardian Takedowns (possibly BL3’s biggest dropped ball imo).

But hey … who knows … they might eventually address it one day … but yeah … it’s dull as hell at the moment.

After beating all content, bar guardian takedown as I truly hate it, I saw only farming in my future to fully optimise my build tho since I got through with sub par gear I really didn’t see a point in farming for hours for no reason what so ever. Could spend all that time playing other things til new content arrives.

i only play it for 10 mins or less now a day if i even feel like playing it (as mostly play now when people do certain kind of drop lobby’s if you get my drift) as legit farming isnt worth it anymore i feel due to issues game still has and should been fixed awhile ago, though i find is more appealing to replay games like ff15 myself as dungeons are done right on ff15 compared to say takedown and more of challenge and rewards in ff15 dungeons seem more worth it.

1 - Modifiers

3 - Online/Offline Co op is broken
4 - Loading times
5 - No raid bosses
6 - Character/Gear Scaling
7 - Unnecessary nerfs in the name of “balance”
8 - Most of my friends stopped playing because all of the above

Yes to all (but I would’ve listed #7 first.)

The Emperor Ming:
Klytus, I’m bored. What plaything can you offer me today?

Klytus:
An obscure body in the S-K system, Your Majesty. The inhabitants refer to it as the FPS RPG… Borderlands 3.

The Emperor Ming:
How peaceful it looks.

[He activates a console, and watches as Mayhem 2.0, Nerfs, Jumping Puzzles, Rebalancing, etc., start to occur. They both get a good laugh out of it.]

Klytus:
Most effective, Your Majesty. Will you destroy this, uh, Borderlands 3?

The Emperor Ming:
Later. I like to play with things a while… before annihilation. [laughs evilly]

pretty much it
but i would just also say things why my friends left me, and in the end i left too

-too many little lvl increases AFTER events not right before
-events are timed
-mayhem 2.0 doesnt add anything, all it rly does is give lvl increases with no skillpoints and more health for enemies / actionskill damage, delte that and the game is suddenly not (as) broken
-dlcs are a HEAVILY mixed bag, wher content wise dlc 1-2 are okay, but offer not much for longlivity
dlc 3-4 are rly short and only worth it if you REALY REALY REALY like the game

yeah all the things you named basically did alot too, the mayhem mods alone made 3 of my 6 friends who did play leave, JUST THE MODS 1 more left due to the insane scaling problems of m2.0
2 remained and those left due to how stuff scales, and no meaningfull content

i mean i was able to run the maliwan takedown with friends no issue, they dont have the dlcs so they can not rly play zane already, and alot of gear for endgame is hard locked behind the dlc, making the balancing issues even worse
and with mayhem2.0 it became again even worse
the death kicker was guardian takedown the last guy that played with me just was so extremely frustrated with this that he said

this game is a waste of time, if you want to play borderlands then i might play 2, this sucks dont ask me again.
he cant even clear most of the mobs, cant play zane, cant play fl4k, heavily dislikes moze.
<.< its like by design the game cant rly be played to full enjoyment in its current form at highest difficulty if you dont have any dlc

but i mean i have to see a real change before i re-install this game
that or i play on ps5 since my pc cant handle the game at anything higher then low / low medium

oh i forgot
the game crashes every now and then, making it 100% legit unplayable for 2 of my friends from the getgo
my game keeps freezing and so on,
