Why have you stopped playing? (Opinion)

And don’t forget how they tell us if you don’t want to play the modifiers there’s always baby mode and it has no rewards and no challenge it’s punishment for not playing with their mess up modifiers.

Found zero reason after finishing my 2nd moze play through to max level to do any more side missions, takedowns, slaughter shafts or dlc 3. I pretty much rushed to the end after eden 6 and instead went back to bl 2 which I’m casually playing through on the side with other games and finding it way more fun tbh.

I feel for all the people that spent time farming equipment just for them to raise the cap again and again, that has to suck big time. I never got into the whole farming stuff but enjoying getting something good and using it until something else came along. If I was to spend that time and effort to get good gear just to make is obsolete in a month or two, yeah not cool.

My copy of the game has been collecting dust at this point, I have too many other games that don’t crash my XB1X and I can play with others either online or local co-op. I keep up on the updates in hopes to see that GBX is finally moving to take the game out of beta form but with each passing month that the game has been out it seems less likely to happen.

I just like to play the game on hardest difficulty and I dont need any of the level cap raises… I hated BL2 for the UVHM. I had to play the story tripple to play on highest difficulty and I had nearly all VHS on max level. I played first on the Xbox and had 4 vhs on 61 and then I had 5 Vhs on 72 on the ps4…
I just want to play the endgame and this cap raises all three months are so gamebreaking for me that I cant really enjoy the game. I like to test guns and stuff but I sadly cant… World of Warcraft players hated the game for the 2 years addons. Everything they archieved was useless every two years. But its at least two year and not two-three months… If I want something really good I have to farm hours for that one thing and three months have not enough hours to farm all I want… Like I told many times. I skipped already two cap raises and Ill do it again if the next one stikes again.

These events are worthless. Level cap will go up within a month after they end. Just watch.

I finished the game. Playing end game content it’s seems pointless, cus the lvl cap will be increased anyway. I came to this forum, because i was interested in the ava&maya scene was originally planned like this, or it was created with lilith&maya? I didn’t get answer… :frowning:

this game was a mess from the start and just got worse. How they could have something so fun like BL2 and something so bad like BL3 is beyond me. I just slowly died inside playing it and have lost my love for BL.

What would make me come back ? I am not sure anything would.

I came back after two months hiatus (game felt boring and, at times, buggy) and started playing again because i was curios about DLC 2 and 3. DLC 2 wasn’t bad, DLC 3 was horrible, except for the cool new weapons.
I’ll probably stop playing again until DLC 4 come out.
I’d like to point out, among the reasons why, that Agonizer 9000 loot falls through the floor. One would expect that by the time the third DLC was out they would have fixed this kind of issues…

Maybe, because they added the lost loot machine, they figured it wouldn’t matter if loot fell through the floor. Seems to be a lot of issues with this, that should get fixed quicker than they are.

The Lost Loot machine is a good safety net. However it only works in cooperation mode. If you forget to have the right mode, you are screwed.
Also, when farming, you like to at least see what drops to determine if you need to keep going or not.
In the case of Agonizer 9000, it does take a bit of time to get there, so you want to definitely see what the drops were. If you had to go to Sanctuary after each visit, it would definitely not be worth the farm.

Edited out an incorrect word - meant cooperation and not coopetition

ITYM cooperation mode.

I quit a few months back, right before the Cartel event ended. I came back for a couple hours after DLC3 released and gave it a shot. Got frustrated after quite of few of my M9 and M10 weapons were emptying whole clips into run of the mill baddies and doing nothing until I dropped to Mayhem 5.

The endless buff/nerf/small level cap/buff/nerf cycle has gotten tedious and I’ve just moved on. I check back periodically, out of love for BL1 and BL2, but honestly I’ve kind of given up hope that GBX can make BL3 good. I hope I’m wrong.

Lots of folk’s including myself staying in the loop hopeing that the state of the game might improve!

Once you give in to the temptation to collect some M10 weapons and it’s very easy to get some, there’s no point in playing lower Mayhem levels where most weapons are actually relevant.

Random thoughts: All weapons collected at a mayhem level should be scaled to be relevant at that level. And, if you move down a level, they should scale down in strength instead of being “super” weapons. If this were possible…playing with all the crazy weapons was a big attraction of this game when it started.

That was my experience as well. Borderlands 3 has turned into a game that requires you to constantly play in order to keep up with the changes, or you will be left far behind.

At this point, it feels like every piece of gear has been buffed and nerfed at least twice, with no signs of waning.

The main reson is the looting system, but there are countless others.

You spend 90seconds in loading screens and 30 seconds killing a boss. That alone is a recipe for disaster. Then you you got the world drop problem. It’s more benificial to farm an easy boss over and over again to get the items you are looking for as world drops, then it is to farm a dedicated loot source that is probably harder and adds varity to the endgame grind. I’ve been saying this since month 1 and the dev’s don’t care or don’t understand the reason dedicated loot sources should be the main mechanism for obtaining your BIS’s.

Then theres

Lack of build varity (all builds feel the same, none use an interesting part of design space, they are all straight forward)
Lack of endgame (Raids, slaughter domes, digipeak)
Game stability
Underwhelming dlcs
Annoying/bad dialogue writing
Unfarmable items (Events, 1 time story rewards)
Unfulfilled promises(wheres the new skills/trees?)

Even though I’ve stopped playing because I’m fed up with GBX messing things up there are a couple of points I’d like to defend on their behalf here:

Long loading times: not sure what system you are on but in fairness long loading on XB1 at least isn’t exclusive to BL3. Destiny 2 also has painfully slow loading times so I’m guessing this is a hardware issue?

Not everybody likes dedicated loot sources and I for one much prefer killing a boss of my choosing than being forced to go to one I don’t like in order to get a particular piece of gear. There were a number of bosses in BL2 I didn’t bother fighting because I didn’t enjoy it, no matter what gear they had. And games should be about having fun.

DLCs: haven’t played the last one (even though I’ve paid for it!) and probably won’t until they stop messing about with everything but the first ones were pretty decent I thought.

Skill trees: I don’t think this was an unfilled promise, exactly, but perhaps a misunderstanding. They talked about adding more skill tree variety instead of new VHs but I think they were talking about the ones they had already done, not new ones to come. Could be wrong there, though

BL3 has lost it’s luster with me for several reasons, which were already mentioned.

The biggest negative is the constant nerfs. I find no reason at all to farm a weapon that will get nerfed at any given time.

Farming gear is the End Game and with no gear worth farming for, there is no motivation to play. A looter shooter is only as good as its loot and the loot in BL3 is f’n terrible to put it mildly.

Modifiers … do I even need to mention how much of a deterrent those are? If we are going to be forced into having these intrusive modifcations at least allow us to choose the intrusions. Rerolling for a decent set is just wasted time and more annoying than it should be.

Oh well, at least Red Dead Redemption 2 has a ton of replayability value which has been occupying my gaming time … and the grass really is greener on the other side …

I have never played Destiny but I am betting that you don’t need to save/quit every 30-60 seconds to farm gear. That’s the problem with this outdated system on console, a simple reset boss option with smaller load screen would make all the difference, still tedious af but better than over 60 secs of boredom whilst waiting.

Exactly, loading times may be longer on certain hardware but that could always be negated be eliminating the need to save quit repeatedly.

It’s a completely different genre of game so not really comparable but the loading time for the witcher 3 is pretty long too, however I only have to endure that once everytime I play (more if I die)
