Why I am not having fun playing your game

I am confident enough in my abilities to stream the game when i play, i am aware and have no trouble dealing with pendles. But i cant make every other person on my team more aware except by saying “hey guys watch out for pendles,” and if they dont then someone basically has to babysit pendles, and if you are the most aware person on the team then thats your job. I dont want to babysit and have to carry my team every game, so i will play with my friends who i can rely on to carry their own weight in a match. So like i said i wont play solo anymore, which i hate because i loved solo queueing before, because i dont want to carry crap team mates every game.

Benedict is actively broken as in he has a giant exploit that turns him into an infinate rocket spewing machine. Pendles is just OP.

Until the devs say it’s an exploit and not working exactly as intended, it isn’t an exploit. And it isn’t like the issue is being ducked, either. Clarification was given on Reddit (saying it was intended) and because of the wording of the response, further clarification has been asked for.

@Ginger_greninja even when I have successfully killed a Pendles trying to gank me, I hated it. He can be damn near anywhere. Having him around completely changes how you have to approach disengaging from a fight and trying to get to safety if you get hurt. Sure there were other stealthy characters, but they couldn’t hide all day waiting to pick off stragglers. High-level players probably aren’t going to have much trouble dealing with him, but for someone that isn’t great at games like this it completely screws with the way the game has worked up to this point.

That’s why I never solo PVPed ever before. So once again, I still don’t see how Pendles changed anything. I only EVER play this game with one other person, and if i want to play it and I’m alone I play story missions.

ACTUALLY, the clarification was that skipping the RELOAD animation was intended, and nothing more was said about skipping the FIRING animation.(If I recall correctly) If you skip the RELOAD animated he doesn’t actually put a rocket in the clip, but instead fires an already reloaded rocket, which I believe is how they intended it to be, not the other way around, but that’s just my two cents.

Maybe it hasn’t changed a thing FOR YOU. That’s cool. I hope you can appreciate that others may have a different experience.

You may very well be right on Benedict (I’ve seen the posts–the response given didn’t exactly line up with what was asked and it may well be the question was misunderstood), which is why further clarification was sought. Still, many people have been playing that way on the assumption it was intended, and labeling those people cheaters (by calling it an exploit) is not cool.

That’s why I think calling Pendles a huge game changer is an overstatement, (since at least to me he changed nothing), but then again that’s just my opinion.

I wouldn’t call people using Benny’s clipping an exploit, maybe a bug, but until we know more, no one technically has right to say one way or the other. Just wait and find out.

Fair enough.

I said from the start Pendles wouldn’t be a problem in high-level play, but I can tell you that the game feels entirely different to me with him in the game. Nowhere is safe. I’m afraid to engage for fear of getting wounded and jumped. If I see him attacking a buildables, by the time I get there he’s long gone.

I think if we had better matchmaking at the moment a lot of this discussion wouldn’t be taking place, because the chance of being matched up with a Pendles well above your skill level would be much less. What I think some of you fail to appreciate is what it is like to have somebody on this character who is flat-out better than you. That was already bad enough with characters like Thorn or Mellka, for instance, but with Pendles it is a nightmare.

Its fine that you dont see it, im not trying to convince you he is. I am stating how i feel about the game, both of our views are valid. People have different perspectives on the game and want to express their opinion of the new content

he is actually pretty easy to spot to tbh

I don’t have access to Pendles, but I like having him on the enemy team. Instead of getting paranoid watching my own back (which would suck, I agree), I watch everyone else’s more intently instead. Granted, you have to be on mic for this to really work, but in a communicating team, Pendles warnings are a lot of fun.

Also I like fetching him out of cloak with Aurox. We really ARE detectives!

RIGHT?

Okay, Pendles. Not ONCE did Pendles ever try to run off from me cloaked, that I couldn’t SEE him doing so. And that’s without my glasses, BTW. There are reveals, and when he’s revealed he’s just a weak brawler. Have a Marquis throw the right Hoodinis out there, and Pendles is effectively OUT of the game.

Benedict didn’t need the damage buff he got, and that’s ruffled some feathers. (See what I did there?) Attikus probably DID take the nerf bat a little too hard.

But Pendles is NOT an OP god of war or something. He has his counters, and he has his opportunities. Learn him.

It’s weird you say nerf bat but i love attikus after this all of this i feel like he can do stuff now

Exactly. Pendles is WAY weaker than the three other stealth characters, he’s just stealthed more often is all. He’s only a threat to players at like 30% health anyway.

Yes indeed. 9/10 Pendles encounters are exactly like the ones you just described.

THEY ARE NOT DETECTIVES! Lol. But yeah warning someone about an impending Pendles strike is pretty exhilarating. I have monitored fleeing teammates all the way from the enemies second sentry to our spawn. Telling them to “Keep running, he’s right behind you!”

Who is Pendles and what does he do? Pendles is a snek and he punishes people who don’t work together as a team. Most of the times I have seen Pendles do well is when the team he is facing is not working well together and not looking out for each other. Against a coordinated team Pendles has a much harder time. Not much different from Rath actually. If you’re getting wrecked by Pendles (or Rath for that matter) then you or your team are doing something wrong. I’ve only had trouble with Pendles when I’ve screwed up or when my team has screwed up. I really have to work on map awareness. I don’t know how many times I thought my team had my back only to find out I was alone with Pendles.

I welcome being alone with pendles. I’m so use to his underhanded play style that I known exactly how to coax him into attacking me. Be at less health than him and separate from your team.

You can really turn the tables against him if your character has a silence or slow so he can’t cloak away as easily when he realizes that the jig is up.

There’s no way you destroy buildables better than pendal lol, a character than can stay invisible all game.

And as far as pendles goes I honestly don’t think hes OP, you just have to be aware of your surroundings more when playing against him.

Yea, I really don’t understand people declaring that Pen is unbalanced by pointing out that he can destroy buildables. Marquis has ALWAYS been able to pluck off buildables with much less risk but no one says that makes him unbalances. confused

Exactly, and so what he destroys buildables… they are actually playing him wrong if that’s what they are doing imo. Other than thumnper and speed turret, He shouldn’t be destroying anything else.

I haven’t played as Pendles yet but I’ve played against in almost every match since he came out.

I would describe Pendles as annoyingly dangerous. If you are not aware of what’s going on around you or you let your health drop too low you are easy prey for Pen. But other than that he doesn’t seem OP or too weak.

As for destroying buildables, Oscar Mike’s have been doing that since release.
