I agree friend,me and my bro started 2 days ago and I’m a 7 he’s a 3 and we went against a team of 78 60 45 and 12s in our team the highest was a 12 now that’s balance don’t know if I’ll continue play this but overwatch is around the corner so may be going there
Maybe they could add some type of voting system so we can down vote players for going afk or quitting.
If they get enough of those then they just get grouped with other afkers and quitters.
You don’t seriously think that this problem won’t be in Overwatch, do you?
The only difference is the fact that you aren’t able to see the levels of the enemy team… So ignorant.
I have been hearing about this from a few friends. I was ready to pick up the game and then they just all dropped it. A big reason was the matchmaking like you mention.
I have to wonder if the population of players will allow a system to work that would put players of equal level and premade vs premade together. Would need a large enough community for that to work. I would need to see numbers for that. I have money sitting waiting to purchase but I am not so sure. If I buy and the game dies quick it is a waste.
And this here is not an attack on BB and just some observations and happenings;
- Everybody I now that has purchased is not playing right now. Some have sold it.
- As for #1 I had to go to GameStop (do not like that place but one had a used copy of a game I cannot find anywhere) for my oldest son. They had multiple used copies already. I asked the manager, I know him and have gamed with him, about BB and he said it is dying. They do not recommend it to anyone. No big deal.
- As for #2 I had to go to the University to see a friend of mine and I stopped at the GameStop there. They had multiple copies. I heard them talk multiple people out of BB (they had a decent number of used) and push Overwatch. I asked about BB and they basically told me it was dead already and I should get Overwatch. Which, by the way, they pointed out I could pick up Monday for pre-load.
- After returning home I got a call that the fish for my aquariums had shown up so I headed to another town. Out of curiosity I stopped at the GameStop there and they had multiple used BB. They did the same thing in telling me it is dead and not that good. And they had a Monday pickup on Overwatch to pre-load.
Now, this may not seem like much but I know of 2 more instances of this. Tough for any game to do well if the player count is already dropping quickly and there is a push to push other players away.
Back on to the matchmaking. I do know well that if there is a small user base it is hard to have separation like that. No rank based or skill based or even party/random separation. Just no viable.
I just hope that GB does fine with this. I actually ordered a copy for Amazon for $29.88 (it is $39.88 but I had a $10 gift card I had to use). I would just like to see this thing grow and without purchase it is not going to happen. Just lucky Amazon put this on sale as I going to pull the trigger on a digital copy today.
I would like to see GB do a free trial of this. Limit it to a short period. Or do a free weekend or something. I know at least 8 people who are interested but they are just not sure and they missed the beta (somehow as I am sure I told them).
My largest dissapointment comes from that this game is more demanding than I’d like. I can play Overwatch without frame drop fine, but this game gives me horrid fps in open areas and the particle effects eats up so many resources.
I really do not understand why they didn’t use a system that brings 10 people into a matchmaking room. Looks at their levels and tries to build teams (taking friends into account) that makes the range numbers equal out. For premades… link them to other premades or find players about the same rank.
I really enjoy the game despite the errors, but I am a little worried about it since suddenly finding a match takes several minutes compared to less than a minute I experienced a week ago.
When I pay someone $80 for a game I am indeed entitled to information regarding the deficiencies of that game. This is a broken part of the game and requires a patch in order to equal the experience their marketing promised me when I bought the it. They can keep their DLC, but I want basic features that are fundamental to good gameplay fixed as soon as possible and if it cannot be I want a good explanation as to why.
Your anti-consumer attitude is disturbing.
How does that make me ignorant, and I was agreeing with you ???
u know what would better? open match making if someone quits your team allow someone else to join mid game
You are “entitled” to nothing.
I didn’t pay Gearbox for a disk or an instruction booklet or DLC. I paid them for their services in providing the competitive multiplayer game they promised. I am therefore, by the words very definition, entitled to the kind of service promised explicitly and implicitly by the company. I fulfilled my end of the deal by paying $80 for that experience, GBX has yet to provide me with the services it said it was capable of providing. There’s nothing competitive about matchmaking that leaves one side outclassing the other by the widest of margins almost every match.
Wrong. You paid for the USE of the SOFTWARE as-is on day 1 and you’re entitled to nothing more but the DLC and new characters you paid for.
It seems more than a few people don’t understand basic economics on this board or how the software model works.
I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree. Perhaps a GBX employee could solve the argument about whether or not people who paid $80 are entitled to answers about features as critical to good gameplay as matchmaking. Do you think they’d tell me that all I’m entitled to is what I’ve already got? Hmm?
I think your understanding of “basic economics” might be a bit too… basic. Your understanding of economics seems to treat the concept of trust and fair-dealing as non-entities. I’d be interested in learning what school of thought that you picked that up from.
Software models. Read up on them.
In the future I would suggest instead of trying to insult someone, actually provide a point worth responding to.
Trust and fair-dealing would only come into play if they didn’t provide the product you paid for, which they did.
No, they haven’t provided me yet with the level of service I feel my $80 entitles me to. I’ll continue to make that point until they do.
And I develop software for a living, my good man. If somebody doesn’t feel that they received their moneys worth from my software I take that very seriously and do everything I can to rectify the situation in a timely manner. That starts with good communication with my clients. I’m not getting that from GBX at the moment I feel. It’s unfortunate.
I don’t care if you code. It doesn’t make your opinion any less wrong.
Dude, are you TRYING to get yourself banned from the forums? Or are you some kind of new-level troll?
Is this directed at me? Doesn’t even matter. Grow some tougher skin. RottenRatPelt was perfectly capable of making his argument while being reffered to directly. And I bowed down as a result. He doesn’t need a bunch of peacekeepers parroting his sentiment. I didn’t use any foul language or anything in that sense. We were simply having a discussion, that’s all.
This is a forum, not a safespace…
