It’s a great game! Seriously. Really stellar. It’s was my GOTY for 2015 (X1).
Hope you enjoy!

honestly, once Titanfall 2 comes out I’ll be on that. None of my friends have BB so I’m surprised it’s kept my attention this long.
I do. I get about 2 games a year. I have so little time to play them.
On that note…I have over 100 people in my PS4 friends list. When Battleborn first came out, about 4 or 5 played the game for a couple weeks. Since then, I’m the only one who still plays. I get messages from them on a regular basis that are basically “You play Battleborn? Seriously? How is it?”. And I always reply “It’ll be great when it’s finished!”.
If I was them I would reply to you the following. If the game is that bad, then why are you playing it? Do you enjoy playing “unfinished” games?
Many people do not consider games, especially heavily online/multiplayer reliant games, finished until all their DLC/patches/tweaks have been released.
Really? That’s bizarre. Generally a game is consider “finished” as soon as it is released out of the open beta. DLC are just additional contents added to the finished game.
Not anymore. Now that Patchess are a thing
I’m not much of a shooter person, honestly, so Titanfall/Battlefield/Etc aren’t on my radar. I’ve got a jillion games on Steam, and my attention is solely held by Battleborn first and foremost, Overwatch when I’ve got less time, and Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I’m a patient gamer, so the only game I’d pick up is the new Deus Ex down the road. I’ve got plenty of time, but I really do honestly enjoy Battleborn more than my other games at the moment.
You’ll have to point out where in my post that I said the game was “that bad”. I never did.
Parts of it are quite good, other parts obviously not. And the opinion that the game is unfinished is a pretty common one, as even the devs are working on making the new player experience better, fixing things up and ‘relaunching’ it at some point down the line.
Well my apologies. I probably misinterpreted the reply you send.
“It’ll be great when it’s finished!”.
Can be taken as if you are saying that the game is not great right now but it will be in the future. It can definitely prevent people from even trying the game at the moment if they misinterpreted it like I did.
Not sure how common that opinion is because it is my first time reading and hearing it. There has always been patches to games even before dlc were introduced. Can you direct me to a source where the devs stated they will “relaunch” the game? I would like to read it. Thank you!
It just doesn’t make sense to me. When a game is not finished, it is not released to the entire public. Instead only a specific group of people get to play it in order to test it for the finished released game (early access, preview, open and close beta)
I agree, it is finished when it comes out (unless it is like assasins creed unity) patches are for bugs and glitches to make it better not complete the game
While not officially announced yet, it’s pretty certain. Other than the fact that they are looking at ftp, working at adding a proper new player tutorial, fixing bugs, adding content and indicating that they want to make sure everything is actually ready before the next new big push/relaunch, such as indicated here responding to the suggestion of a relaunch:
“3 - I can’t say much here concretely other than…I agree. I think there’s a moment where something like this is right for another push. We’re working hard on taking care of some of the other issues in the game, and hopefully, if we get here, we’ll be able to attract and excite some new players.”
Here he mentions the need to bring in larger number of players…
They know everytime there is a big sale where player numbers increase, they plummet right back down as we’ve seen with the Humble Bundle. New players don’t continue to play, and there are several reasons for that, one being that the game is hard for new players to ‘get’ the game. Between that and other improvements/fixes they are working on, hopefully it will be ready for whatever push / move to ftp / relaunch or whatever it is they end up doing.
And you’ve never heard of unfinished games being released to market? Happens quite a bit unfortunately, due to market pressures and release dates that can’t be broken. Aliens Colonial Marines is a perfect example…it was a complete mess of a game that even patches couldn’t save.
Survive? Yeah sure why not. The game shouldn’t get any worse just because new games are coming out.
However, I don’t think it’ll benefit. The player base has to drop right? It just a matter of by how much. Personally I’m not very excited about any new releases but sort of thanks to battleborn I got pretty addicted to smite and they’re already hosting a big end of the year event that I’m excited about.
Even though I might not be super excited for them I’m probably still getting battlefield 1 and GoW4 and from my own perspective it’s unlikely I’ll leave newer games lying around so chances are although I still li- love, battleborn I won’t be playing it nearly as much.
Sun and moon look so cool. Can’t wait to play them
If they try some re-branding or something they could benefit. We’ll see how much they care come christmas
You just said you wont be playing battleborn as much because of new games… thats battleborn getting worse.
Fewer players means worse matching which results in more players potentially leaving.
The concise answer here in Australia is no, a dwindling game population and matchmaking/lag issues make it an arduous task of ‘sticking it out’ I’m not sure I’m prepared to do so nor feel compelled too…GBX have been rather coy with information in regards to our oceanic woes!!!
@EdenSophia you’re still turning the lights off right?
After the lootpocalypse weekend I’ve shelfed Battleborn so to speak. I have BattlebornBurnout with PVE and I’ve had one too many matchmaking/lag issues for me to carry on with PVP either…
Don’t get me wrong, I’m pumped for the DLC when it comes out so will check that out, and will have to wander into PVP for Kid Ultra’s PVP-specific lore (yeah, I’m one of those completionists haha), but at this stage this game is getting benched for now.
