At least you didn’t have to reexplain what the issue was on my end 3 times to 3 different people. Then had to send 4 files for them to look at including logs and Directx files. And also my PC’s stats as well.
Yeah i love being a beta tester for them. So much fun.

One way that I’ve been able to play offline is to launch epic/borderlands 3 online and connected. As the game is setting up to launch, disconnect from the internet. I’m not sure if this always works but it works for me.
I tried that and once the game launches, it just keeps trying to sign in at the loading menu screen. Cant seem to play at all without an internet connection

Well, Epic done ■■■■■■ it hard core with the latest update.
Prior to whatever EGL update I was forced to download today when my internet came back online, I could skip EGL sign-in, go to my EGL library, and launch BL3 just fine. Zero internet connectivity at all.
Now, post this POS EGL update, it wont even let you view your library if you skip sign in.
Thanks epic. I’m so glad i can own single player capable games, only to be fuked by your stupid launcher.
Anyone found a way around Epic’s stupidity?
So my fellow fans of Borderlands, my fix to this issue was to go to settings and disable cloud saves. Then, I disabled auto updates and attempted to launch the game (with no internet), and it worked. For those of you trying to play the game in an environment with no internet, like myself I hope this works for you. I deploy on submarines, so this is a big deal to me lol.

If you are on Windows 10, follow these steps.
Windows Security center ->Firewalls and Network protection ->Advanced settings -> Outbound rules -> New rules->Program -> Find and block Borderlands3.exe located at these folders;
(Your drive where BL3 is installed):\Borderlands3
(Your drive where BL3 is installed):\Borderlands3\OakGame\Binaries\Win64
(need to make a rule for each .exe file)
Applying these rules will block only the BL3, which means you can have all else that need internet connection but still play BL3 in “offline” environment. It does make the game to take a bit while to sign in as its being blocked by the firewall

I wonder.
Anyone knows something about “playing offline” that, ppl say, one causes by spamming “A” button on XBOX? I’ve read about it but tapping corresponding button (Enter) on PC does nothing.
Still, if I manage to load the game before the game can connect to servers the hotfix/es won’t load and I end up with seemingly clean game - no sign of Bloody Harvest at least.
No messing with firewall required, just has to be quick.
Anyone else notice you can’t offline mode anymore?

Try going into the epic launcher, click “sign in” with your internet disconnected and firewalls up for borderlands block. Once you click sign in, it will fail to connect and you can click “skip sign in”. You can then go to the bl3 launcher within epic launcher and launch offline
I’ve been tinkering with the firewall issue. Y’see I’m in a place where, Surprise surprise, no internet but a nice cellphone signal.
I don’t wanna tether my stuff anymore, and now this game isn’t letting me play offline whatsoever. What gives, Gearbox?

Did you try using the work-around described in the post directly above yours?
It won’t even let me do the sign-in screen. It just skips me to the retry or skip sign in thing. It just says right after I run it, after skipping the sign-in “Please use the Epic Launcher to start the game. Connection to the Internet is required.”

All I can suggest at this point is a support ticket - I’m not sure what the deal there is, unless it’s something to do with the Denuvo DRM.

I have found A way to play offline on PC that is pretty easy. Figured this out when my internet went down.
- Go into Epic Game Store settings. Little cog wheel on bottom left hand corner.
- Uncheck box that says enable cloud saves
- Scroll down to manage games and click on Borderlands 3 to bring up the drop down menu
- Make sure allow auto updates and allow installs during gameplay boxes are unchecked
You should now be able to play off line.
The only problem I have is that my items from the super duper deluxe edition does not show up offline. Nore do the items from the first DLC. This was bad because my build depends on items I got from the DLC.
Hope this helps
So that means any item you get from Handsome Jack’s DLC was not usable?

not for me anyway. It wasn’t even in my inventory. As soon as I was back online I had all the missing items back again.

I did as you advised and still have “Hotfixes Applied” plate displayed. Unless…
What do you actually mean by offline mode? You mean playing without internet, playing with launcher in offline mode or playing with B3 without hot fixes?

Yeah it is to play offline. This is to be able to play with your internet off. If you are getting hotfixes applied your internet is still on.
You either have to sever your connection by physically unplugging your computer or turning off your connection through your OS such as windows.
I did this because my internet went out when I wanted to play and I was unable to. This method let me play with no internet.

This is BS >> I had been playing offline ever sense I got the game with only a few times playing with friends.
Never had a problem, decided to update get the DLC, and play a bit more, and now I can not play off line… EPIC truly S U cks. I have one game on epic this one, and I doubt I will ever have another… Fricking crazy… I mean I dislike steam, but it has always treated me better than this…
