In the UK , our full eclipse was years ago and people still remember it.

Besides , you could say that about most things :
Fidget spinners are already in the bargain bin.
Fake news turned to youtubers panicking about lost revenue.
Harambe who?

Oh don’t get me wrong, I realize this whole thread is kind of pointless at the moment, but I didn’t want to be mean. The eclipse just seems like a particularly egregious example to me.

It’s amazing to see an actual total eclipse (inside the band of a totally covered sun is what I mean). I don’t think it will be that quickly forgotten. It just won’t be all over the news. Personally we are already planning trips to where/when other total eclipses will happen. The game is being written/made now still, right? So, sure, we could see a reference to it. Possibly a side mission or just dialog, or even part of the main story.

Definitely something about fake news as mentioned by some.

edit: I’m happy to see that this thread didn’t turn into a political discussion.

Definitely Trump.

Lots of celebrity deaths the last couple years, maybe a Carrie Fisher/Princess Leia tribute or something.

That dress from a year or two ago where people were debating what color it really is. (easter egg)

Can’t remember if they made fun of the Kardashians in BL2 or TPS, perhaps something with them.

Harambe was already mentioned, that’s a good call.
