Melee characters can still get him if theyāre quick about it, but Maya isnāt a melee character.
Dammit.

Was farming hyperius yesterday and during his across the map jumps at me I looked back and he was gone? All the bots were still present and you could see them all feeding hyperius his shield but he somehow glitched under ground in the far left corner as you enter. I could still kill him but no loot popped up. 
Not a bad glitch (didnāt see a good one) but once i fast traveled with a buddy while ending or starting Kriegās badass transfomation, and on the other side i was still a badass. I could use all my weapons, My midget hand couldnāt reach any of my guns (assult rifle, smg, etc). It looked pretty hilarious when my buddy sent me pictures. we couldnāt repeat it sadly.

I donāt think thatās a glitch, just a really unlucky (for you) spawn. RNG is fickle and cruel.

Just had one happen to me today. Iād say itās the worst glitch ever for me, because itās the only one Iāve ever had that I couldnāt find a way around and it happened at the worst possible moment. So, I was finishing TTAODK with my Zer0, going through the Lair of Infinite Agony doing A Game of Games, The Amulet, My Dead Brother and Post-Crumpocalyptic simultaneously just so I wouldnāt have to run the entire map again. That place is a pain in the ass to go through and I even exited and re-entered a couple of times to make sure I had the exclamation point for The Amulet active before starting. All was going well and I had reached the second area where youāre supposed to resurrect and kill skeletons for the My Dead Brother quest. I cleared the entire area of enemies, even all those annoying Skeleton Mages. That was a lot of work and took quite a while. Then I go hit the sword to start the mission objective. The sword goes into the ground andā¦ Nothing happens. No skeletons come out of the ground, the mission objective stays uncompleted and the waypoint for it stays fixed on the ground. I open another area, kill some enemies, go back and nothing happens. I switch to another mission and then back again and nothing happens. I shoot and melee at the sword and nothing happens. Iām literally midway through the map with a lot of other missions half completed, so I canāt save and quit or return to the entrance to exit and re-enter the place. It would be too much work to run that portion of the map again, I was afraid of losing progress on the other missions and I could lose the Amulet mission if I did that. So I just decided to keep going anyway and ignored My Dead Brother altogether. Now Iām finished with the DLC and thatās the only mission I have left. Iām gonna try it again tomorrow and I really hope the save and quit has fixed the glitch. Otherwise, that mission is going to stay open forever unless I reset the entire playthrough, and I really donāt wanna do that at the moment. Please, tell me I wonāt have to do that.

You may be able to complete it in someone elseās game. Might even be easier to do it that way.
Kind of just had that happen to me on the Get Shorty quest for Scooter. I killed Shorty and the stalker that had swallowed him from Deception with a melee attack rather than using a shock weapon. The mission remained active until I quit, saved and restarted the mission so Iām guessing you should be fine. Almost had something like that happen again while doing the 3:10 to Kaboom mission in Lynchwood- for some reason I got a āfullā message when trying to place the bomb in the mine casrt. I was running short on time so I decided to pop Deception- it seemed to fix the problem as I was able to put the bomb in the cart after Deception wore offā¦
Thanks for the replies, @VaultHunter101 and @Carlton_Slayer. I tried it again today and the save and quit reseted the sword, so I was able to complete the mission without any further hiccups.
Hooray! Well done for fighting through them again. Your story made me remember what really was the WORST glitch Iāve ever encountered - in the Pre-Sequel. I havenāt played it for a while but as I remember you go through a door, put Felicity in a new body and then have to escort her back with it (and she complains a lot about not liking killing things, even though sheās happily asked you to kill for her earlier). Well I did that as Clatrap in TVHM and got called away to deal with something real-life in the middle of it, and when I tried to reopen it the door to Felicityās shell was closed and wouldnāt open again for love nor money. I didnāt have any buddies at a similar level at the time, so I had to wait months till a friend got to the same point, then I could do it in coop and skip aheadā¦ not a joyful experience!

Was in WEP right before the stalkers I jumped to kill a loader and jumped right behind a boxā¦that was next to a wall. I was wedged there I could jump on top of the box but there was a part of the wall that jutted out that prevented me from escaping, long story short had to save and quit after about 10 mins of trying to get out, all I wanted to do was farm LLMāS once before beginning TTaoDK for the first time

I hated the glitch that caused her to turn around and head back towards the room where she spawned ugh horrible, and that challenge I want to meet the person who beat that one where you have to kill everything before she did because I could never do it
The most frustrating glitch imo, even though itās low-level but because itās perpetual, is problems with inventory selection. Iām sure Iām not the only one who has trouble with thisā¦ I might try to buy pistol ammo but can only do it if I click sniper. I swap to one grenade but actually get the one beneath itā¦ or I change grenades but simultaneously also trade my Kitten for a Nukem. Which is all mildly irritating, unless youāre in coop and doing a very tough fight. And then itās disastrous.
I hope that never happens to me. My inventory does mess up sometimes and only letās me select 2 items, but it has a simple fixof just exit and re enter the menu
Itās not just you, Hattie, Iāve had it happen to me a time or two.
