Unless there’s a Kleese or Ambra, in which case it’s shoot the lamp post or die.
It’s less of a personal mistake than just good capitalization / tactics by the other team, but it’s always frustrating when you solo the double sentries down to almost no health and the enemies come in, ambush you, and get the Thralls for free.
Happened to me tonight for the first time in a while, annoying!
For me as Montana and having a Kleese on the team with an opposing marquis that place is a sanctuary when trying to push/hold mid lol. Harass the ranged characters trying to blow up my supports rifts and hip check any melees that might come around into a wall
It’s pretty much the worse. But there’s nothing more satisfying then playing say Oscar mike on monuments, nabbing the thrills when your getting pushed to your sentry, cloaking back to the front of the line like a madman onto the stairs and dropping your ult just behind everybody and a fragcendiary on top of them. Really effective counter push since they have to run through aoe death just to get back to there sentry in order to stop the mids from trashing there sentry
Also if you have never dropped Oscar mikes ult from underground on the mids when there is a fight happening above you, I highly recommend it lol
I find Orendi gets out of melee easily as long you choose “Let’s Bounce” at level 2. Even better if they have to chase you through a trail of fire afterwards.
Honestly I think her decloaking skill is overrated compares to her other choices.
Just realised I have another entry (I do some dumb stuff).
Day one Pendles I was running a build for max health combined with attack speed and attack damage.
I noticed my shield recharge was INSANE, then I checked shields and it was max 20.
I’m like OK fair enough he’s a squishy assassin with a tiny shield… then I realised MUCH later I was using negative shield gear.
It was my Boldur (Eldrid) build.
In my adolescence phase of playing el dragon I had gotten pretty cocky. I hadn’t found a character that really got in my so bad. I back peddled/clapped an Attikus to death. Punched down galilea quite a few times. Rolled Isic like he wasn’t even there. Hell I never even found a competent enough boldur to keep me down.
One day I played a match against Montana. Hadn’t seen him played a ton and I always focused fired him when I was ranged and generally perceived him as a non threat. I was running around doing el dragon stuff setting myself up for assassinations on there orendis and phoebes as such. Was primed and initiated on my target, bounced them, en fuegoed and- hip checked into a corner by Montana. Proceeded to hail storm me and send me back to my base in a body bag.
Was a bit upset and I found him at about half health and initiated on him. Same results were slammed into a wall and melted. The rest of the match was me trying to assassinate his team members and him I only went off correctly about half the time
It was that day that I understood that my nigh invincible killing main had a hard counter… And to this day I will still forget that occasionally…
Done a similar thing with Orendi. Learned never to use nullify on the stairs leading to the last defense point… after doing it three times.
Ha! I laugh at your heat of the moment!
Selecting the wrong helix option after having a good 10 second stare at the helix menu, on a character you’ve played 50+ times and know exactly what to pick is totally the way to go! Right?
Mutations, they throw me off if I stare for too long.
I keep mixing up “E” and “F”
This is only more common now with Pendles. Truthfully he’s not great on Incursion in most cases but he can nad thralls better than anyone -_- I had a match as him on Echelon tonight, the enemy had us pushed hard to the stairs so I was running around back clearing minion waves and buildables, you know Pendles stuff. Not very useful when your team is a man down at the choke. Anyway, I sneakily capped mid thralls and went ham on the sentry, got it to 57 before enemy Ambra dropped back to finish me. Pro tip: If your team can hold off the enemy at the choke, get to level 10, with mid thralls assistance Pendles can solo the sentry at level 10. Well not solo, with mid thralls, but you know. Great comeback strategy, I don’t endorse “backdooring” in any way but sneaking with thralls as Pendles is a satisfying tactic if you can pull it off unhindered.
With the addition of Pendles, if he’s on the enemy team there’s no reason not to take it, I never thought anything of her level 1 choices as it is but the reveal is really useful now. I also learned tonight that Pillarstorm procs the level 1 reveal and drops a Pillar under cloaked enemies as well as revealing them, nice for accidental kills on unseen enemies.
it’s a great feeling isn’t it? lol
Or getting that double/triple kill with one PS from Orendi.
Attacking thrall camp with Attikus with the Thrall between myself and the cliff.
Accidentally mix up Hadronic Arc and Pounce as the Thrall jukes to the side and off I go.
Attikus cannot fly, no matter what anyone would have you believe.
I did that with Phoebe. Truestrike right off a cliff.
Used Orendi on the Algorithm and nullified myself off the bridge… Like three times.
More than once I have unloaded on a friendly Attikus in story mode thinking he was an enemy Thrall. He comes around a corner or something and I’m all:
“OMIGOD LOOK AT THAT BIG S.O.B.! KILLIT KILLIT KILLIT! KILL IT WITH FIRE!”
(Fragcendiary grenade, Airstrike, half a clip later = embarrased Oscar Mike.)
Also, in The Sentinel I once did Orendi’s Push-Nullify on a Thrall Brute in the crusher/blades corridor to kill him… but it also landed me under a crusher. I had a split second to enjoy seeing him die before realizing where I was.
2 ambras droping sun spots is confusing… I killed myself trying to get a heal.
Also when you get a team member in x color and the other team too… I sometimes tried to hit our oscar mike and ran into a not so friendly orendy trying to do a 2 vs1(jk on me… )
Having a 2v2 against an Ambra as Ambra is so confusing. Do I attack her Sunspots? Wait those are mine. Now I’m knockbacked. There’s a meteor. I’ll make another one. Now there’s 6 Sunspots on the field and two death zones with an Emergence over there. At that point I just run away.
