I’m unsure a true horror theme would fit Bordlands. It would have to be along the lines of the Dr Ned DLC for BL1. Morbid or dark humour.
As for PvP arenas, as long as you aren’t forced to play in them you can have all the arenas you like. I personally would never use them.

Duels don’t constitute PvP.
The moment they introduce any actual PvP, regardless of the format (arena, match making, open world, etc.), the game will go down the toilet like nearly every other game before it that has tried, and failed, to balance PvP and PvE. For those who’ve been around the block, PvP balance issues inexorably affect PvE balance, and vice versa. They are mutually exclusive activities and therefore an impossible equation to balance. If I wanted an FPS PvP game, I’d play something else that was tailored to that activity. Borderlands has never been that game.
So no, I’m strongly opposed to this idea, as are most players in this game I suspect.

Straight Horror DLC for a game as goofy as this would have the same effect as going to an opera and having Chapelle do stand up during the intermissions. Sure it’s entertaning, but WTF is it doing here lol

Borderlands have the potential to deliver best of both worlds. I wonder why no one on Gbx didn’t figure out already.
PVP in Borderlands 3 would be an unmitigated disaster of epic proportions.
Just adding it at all would result in a huge backlash from BL veterans. I count myself in this group.
The outcry from people getting their sh!t pushed in from the myriad of current existing build + gear combinations would be ludicrous. The resulting nerfs would be eye-watering.
The backlash from those nerfs would be… something else.

I really disagree, Borderlands would be the worlds worst PVP.
PVP you cannot have much variety because of balance, Borderlands has the most variety of all shooters.
If we had PVP the nerfs would be 100 times worse than they are now.
Not if there are specific arenas like in B1. I had this idea since the first game. A Rarity themed arenas, where you can gamble loot with your friends. You bet a gun before enter and the winner takes all the guns in the betting slots. Poker with guns if you like. You can’t bet a common weapon in a legendary tier arena, so for each arena the players must choose the rarity first before the bet. The rule is every player can only use specific rarity weapons depending on what rarity type arena is chosen. There are 7 basic rarities in Borderlands , that means 7 arenas placed on different areas of the game. Action skills are not allowed during the fight. Backpack is also inaccessible. Just a classic quake type of battle. So you grind the game for loot , then go for the arena to rip your friends from their loot. I think it could be a great end game.

PvP could work perfectly fine in this game.
Have the guns automatically switch to pvp-specific stats when used in pvp. The system for adjusting stats on the fly is already in place (Mayhem Mode modifiers).
The bigger question is if there’s enough interest in pvp for this game (enough to make a profit on it somehow) to create a separate pvp-specific balance for all the gun parts.
If pvp does get added, I imagine I’ll treat it much like Warframe’s pvp; Try it a few times, realize it’s hot garbage because 99% of players go for cheesy/meta tactics, and never play it again.

pvp in this game would be utterly one sided, and only the people who have the absolute best gear would take part. i mean hell you got guys with builds that destroy bosses in seconds, that would not work in a pvp setting.

I don’t think PvP is gonna work out particularily well. That would require additional balancing efforts and people were already complaining about nerfs.
we dont need arena for pvp u can do pvp everywhere at anytime right now.
Outright PvP? No thank you, as has been said the balancing (Which would need to cover much more than the mayhem modifiers do) would be a nightmare. If you really enjoy a mash up with your mates then I recommend Destiny 2 and run private matches where PvP is by design 
Given that there is the season pass content to come out over the coming months and possibly stuff in the works that is hush hush for now, the game has much evolving ahead of it for now. So let GB concentrate on the planned for now, oh and the fixes/QOL cough loot storage, not forgetting loot storage. Did I mention loot storage?
