Would Meltdown & Capture Get Played More If

Well, hopefully this would rebalance the existing condition. As long as they made it so it first looks for groups in Capture, then Meltdown, and last Incursion, I think it might work

one thing I will point out for everyone saying that the competitive and casual were such a failure. personally it was only a failure because I had many times it would do things like 2 capture maps and a meltdown map or 2 incursion maps and a capture map. as the chaos rumble map select is now I personally like. I actually get all types of games witth no issue rather than just incursion

That was actually my biggest frustration as well…

I just want more people to pick echelon on incursion because i like that map alot but im apparently the only person that dislikes overgrowth.

you’re not alone, most of my group prefers echelon depending on who we feel like playing as

I was amazed at how many Echelon games I got in with Chaos Rumble, was finally able to finish off my Attikus lore.

On topic, I still hope that GBX can implement the engine changes need for both multi-queing and forming “casual” lobbies by getting 10 players together then divvying up fairish teams by ELO. In the meantime, I hope they do create a “quick match” that looks like Chaos Rumble but with unique characters and team chat only, I almost think that ditching the dedicated Capture queue for that would be worth it, and actual mean that MORE capture games get played.

Nope I too hate Overgrowth and I can make a huge list of why I hate it but but I don’t want to make you read an essay at 11 pm.

Also there should be mode of the day that gives boosted rewards and a free Epic chest after the 3rd win.

Jus sayin, im a third shifter, so ive got Allllllll night buddy

What is it that everybody likes about echelon? I personally think that all 3 maps have good/ bad points but i despise echelon as I find it does absolutely nothing to promote a fair game whatsoever

I think of the 3 incursion maps like this, overgrowth has a way to backdoor. it’s limited to some characters though, echelon can be backddored by anyone but it has a risk and then monuments encourages assaulting from multiple directions at once. so echelon is a balance between the “you almost have no tactical choice but to fight in lane” and “what lane?” mentality of the other maps

But echelon gives you literally everything if you hold the choke. You have accelerators to build which also help you on your stranglehold of the choke as well make it difficult for your opponent to push back into the middle lane and a healing station under mid. The flank options of echelon are just terrible. And you certainly don’t need to back door when you can just shoot the sentry from the choke unhindered by return fire. If a team has pushed there opponent back into the choke and they have a Montana or marquis they get the first sentry down by themselves

but it gives the option for flanking maneuvers, I was merely trying to point out why I personally like it

I think it should work this way since the capture and meltdown queues have very few players and combing them would mesh the two queues together and would make queue times a lot better. Also the reason I’d put incursion separate is a lot of competitive guys at least on Xbox one play incursion

I think this would be great if you have the option to play this (random PvP mode maps) or focusing in whatever you want (choosing between game modes).

EDIT: And sure, without duplicate characters or open chat.

I thought meltdown was played competitively on xbox

This sounds exactly like what we had before which sucked and was quickly changed. Unless I’m missing something???

I just want a fourth option called Quick Play. Just like Chaos Rumble except no dupes, no global chat and EVERY map shows up randomly. I kept getting the same ones and it was lame.

I don’t mind Incursion when I also get to play the other modes. Variety, man.

I honestly don’t see back dooring as often anymore, but when I do it’s almost always Monuments. The pillar route is just too simple to access, safe for characters who can create a territory for themselves out of the sight of the Sentry, and too easy to simply fall back to the rest of the team with confidence that your pursuer won’t make that irreversible drop down into the farthest side of the lane.

But as I said, I don’t see it done very often anymore.

Backdooring is for real far too easy on Monuments.

Almost every single time when my team is pushing up on their Sentry, even with Miko, I’ll slip away, run up the stairs, hop across the pillars, and stsrt busting its shield down or better yet doing it direct damage if the shield is already down.

If there is one even one thing distracting that stupid sentry in front of it, it WON’T target you.

So then the other team has to sacrifice a player or two to come dislodge you ftom up there (and you can kill people coming up thise stairs if you know what you’re doing) or do nothing and let you take theur sentry out.

But, flip side, while you are assaulting theur sentry, it’s akso not very hard for an enemy or two to sneak out of their base and launch a potentially deadly assault on YOUR Sentry, especially if they snag the double Thralls along the way.

No, it wouldn’t work. It was already tried and failed miserably because Incursion was the only gametype that got voted for. Even when the Spotlight Battle was Incursion on Overgrowth, people were coming into the other queues and ONLY voting for Incursion. I’m pretty sure that the reason that Chaos Rumble worked was that people who wanted to play Incursion were staying in the Incursion playlist, while people who wanted either of the other two were searching for matches in Chaos Rumble.

Now, speaking for myself, I’ll say that if the queues are changed to work this way I’ll quit the game and ask for my money back. It was a horrible experience the last time around and I won’t stand for it again, and if they’re going to change the game so that it’s so drastically different than the game I purchased then I’m fairly certain I won’t have much trouble getting a refund. It’s what happened to Bungie with Destiny at least.

If i remember correctly when the spotlight stuff happened and stuff they removed the other stuff like normal incursion and such which is the main problem yes you will still play overgrowth incursion in a Playlist with all options in it however you won’t get that all the time if incursion has its own game mode
