I too found your arguement extremely weak It’s not an exploit though. At all. Not defending is just that not defending. It’s an attack and DEFENSE game. You need to be aware of your surroundings. If you don’t look at the map or UI and see someone chasing you it’s not an exploit its YOU. if you don’t notice or hear that it’s being attacked it’s on YOU. there’s a reason there are warnings that it’s being attacked or a merc group is fighting the enemy or your teammates. Don’t blame it on others that you can’t pay attention.

Btw you didn’t offend me and the reason I compared it to war is this is like most action games MOBAs shooters etc pretty much simulate war. Even if it doesn’t the point was to emphasize DEFENSE. You could have the best offense in the world but without defense you’ll lose. Take any sport for example. When the other team gets the ball you’ll lose every time without a good defense. A house with just a frame or doorways without doors is super easy to enter without someone guarding it.

One last thing there ARE modders and it’s terrible. There’s tons of videos on YouTube showing it. Mostly PC. but this isn’t that.

The only part that I disagree with is the fact that Marquis can shoot without exposing any part of his body to damage. That’s not okay when he “head glitches”.

But yeah, I agree with the rest of your post. It’s called awareness. Plenty of characters can counter this.

I found that if marquis snipes it orendi can be really good for stopping him because of her speed and damage run in hit him with some pillars then run

Yah that’s the issue with FPS games and putting cameras in the head. It’s quite a pain.

Its a well known issue and is getting patched next week. Only problem is their idea for patching it isnt going to do anything (changing the side the stairs are at unless they change it)

They need to change his POV so it is higher up his body to stop him head glitching. But in honesty unless they make it so only minions can take down the sentry shields (which is the way it should be as that is the whole point of the game mode otherwise just remove minions) people will find other ways to cheese it such as isic being able to solo both sentries with ease and he does a huge amount of damage to the sentry on his own.

I really hate the argument between exploits and cheating, IMO it just amounts to the same thing and the only real difference is that exploits don’t require 3rd party applications.

The shooting of the sentries where they can’t shoot back defies the concept of the mode, the devs want it to stop but they are held back atm by sony and ms. This makes abusing it an exploit. But everyone loves to say that exploits and cheating are totally different, especially people who exploit obviously. Really though, it boils down to the fact you are abusing the game’s code knowingly to gain an unfair advantage on other players and in the process ruining the experience of a product they paid for.

I can buy a sub to a cheat website and run them too. Just because I have the ability to do this, does not make cheating such as aimbots fair… and all those are, are programs that expoit the game’s code to give the player using it an unfair advantage. I can also run a lag switch, nothing is really stopping me, but that does not make exploiting network traffic fair because anyone can do it. It would give the player using it an unfair advantage and ruin the experience of other players who purchased the game. Gearbox would actively try to remove the ability to cheat, cheaters, and lag switchers as well as patch out their effectivness, in the same way they are now using hotfixes to nerf broken mechanics and patch out exploits within the game. The only real difference between a lag switch, a cheat program, and exploiting is that exploiting doesn’t require anything but knowledge of a broken part of the game.

Argue all you want that if it’s in the game it’s fine, you know what you are doing is pathetically easy and cheap. You know it gives you an advantage you wouldn’t otherwise have. You’ve just convinced yourself that it’s different than throttling your connection or running a background script, but yourself is all you’ve managed to convince.

Cheaters be cheaters, nothing will change that. So I’m just waiting for it to get patched out, until then I’m not having a lot of fun. All anyone can really do is enjoy the games where people have some sort of sportsmanship and try not to get angry enough at cheaters to sell or delete the game because behind these exploits it IS a great game.

I have a recording of a game where my 4 man prwmade did nothing but body block a headglitching Marquis. Did we lose? Yep. But this dude was whining like a little baby.

He kept saying it was cool because he can. We werent having any of it. Eventually he tells us to grow up (IRONYYYY~~~), ■■■■ our mom, and goto hell.

I have never been happy to lose a match, but I was this time

They bring up this battleborn spotlight #2 and not mention Marquis once about his cheap play style. If they want to temporarily Nerf him by cutting his range to just the other ledge from their ledge i will be fine with that so they stop doing that crap. I am straight up sick of it. I try soloing by picking echelon, but the people are too damn stupid to understand overgrowth will be broken until the real patch.

HECK, here’s another thing: I asked a few players on other forums about Marquis in close, mid, and long quarter matches and they say Marquis is still a dominating player in those type of combats if it was a 1 on 1 with any other firearm person, because of his OP 3 shots of death passive and his slow mo to keep you from running away from his scrawny ass. Come ON!

Yeah, it is frustrating. A game we played, the Marquis was playing legit until they started to lose. Then their Marquis sniped our sentry and won. At the last minute of the game.

If a Marquis on my team does it I sabotage the match by sitting in spawn till our sentry goes down, too, or run around getting in their face throwing up taunts.

Well… my arguments are pretty strong:

1.- The game is for fun, this ruins fun.
2.- When DEVS says that this gonna be fixed: its because is not intended. So its a bug, and the fact you abuse of it, its bug exploiting.
3.- No need to use “hack software” to be a cheater: bug exploiters (look above) are the same as modders. (breaking the game rules to their advantadge, no matter how)

Yours seems even weaker than before.
1.- No matter the type of game you play, it got rules, and if you break to win, you are cheater. No matter if the game is attack defense, or defense defense, or flying across the rainbow to win, rules are not done by you, but, the devs. And thats a fact.
2.- your comparision with a “war” is now even weaker than before:

  • Do you really think war is funny?
  • Do you think people is paying to be in a war?

Mobas and other games may emulate a PART of a war… this is a GAME and games got RULES because they are for FUN. (rule breakers, no matter how, are cheaters.)

Im just getting the impresion that you are trying to justify yourself cause you did/do that, but i think you really know that destroys other peoples fun, and removes the “skill” component of the confrontation.

Did i say that this is not intended by devs and breaking rules of the game, no matter how, is cheating? :wink:

It’s one thing to backdoor when nobody notices, but it’s another when Marquis can headglitch the middle ledge and be practically invulnerable. You can’t counter Marquis with Marquis in that situation, the hitbox is covered by the map. You can’t defend against one guy in the back while you’re getting pushed by 4 other people.

I’m referring to the back door only the marqui thing is a glitch. Not to mention the bug that his his only needs to be visible to snipe. It’s a major flaw of many if not all FP shooters

But any ranged person can do that, I saw an Orendi and Thorn doing it once, and the Thorn was trying to snipe our sentry when we weren’t pushing mid and was hitting it. So any ranged character should be able to do it, it’s just that Marquis is the only one with a scoped gun, so it’s easier to take advantage of.

No devs are saying they’re fixing the marquis glitch not the back door attacking. The other map has back dooring and every character can do it since it requires no leap.

You’re arguments aren’t sound.
Game is for fun. Yah of course it is did you also know blue looks blue? You know what’s no fun killing the entire enemy team but one enemy and all they have to do to not lose is have ONE teammate kill minions and completely make all the work you did killing the enemy worthless. That’s not fair. The killing team clearly deserves to damage the sentry but can’t bc minions die in two shots. That’s why the devs and other MOBAs made it so you can attack the sentry without them. Would the opposite be unfair. Minions are attacking the sentry and no one wants yu lol the minions. Is that unfair. Is that cheating. No because you didn’t DEFEND.

I compare it to war again bc YOU NEED TO DEFEND TO WIN. That’s the only comparison that necessary I need to have a valid argument but you have nothing but complaints as yours You’re not defending that’s your fault. And war has ruled too to an extent. You ever hear of the Geneva Convetion? Yes oeople pay to go to war(never said people did until now.) No war isn’t funny (again never said it was. Don’t put words in my mouth). But games like these EVOLVED from war. It’s a war simulation but you can deny it all you want. You could say the earth is made of jello but that doesn’t mean it it.

I never said that hacks are the only way to cheat. Putting words in my mouth again. But FLANKING and GANKING are REAL tactics. That’s why there’s a cliche battle phrase “WATCH YOUR FLANK!” Or “Watch your six!”

Yes rules are rules but in MOBAs attack a tower/sentry /etc is allowed but it’ll attack you. As I’ve said many times I try it the sentry does HEAVY amounts of damage. One shot did 1200 damage to me the other day. ONE shot from it. I died right after bc someone who DEFENDED their sentry got the final shot. That’s how you play.

I don’t always do it because others know to defend and that’s what they’re supposed to do.

So ignore me all you want and pretend it’s “unfair” to flank an Undefended base or objective it won’t stop you from losing. Your arguments are only it’s unfair bc it’s unfair. That’s not strong at all. You haven’t showed a shred of proof that this is cheating. The marquis thing is bc he’s at his base killing it and he’s just too OP bc of the passive but back door and flanking are 100% are valid tactics.

You’re the exact type of person I hate playing objective games with bc they refuse to defend or complete the objective and then complain.

Hot fix is limited in what it can do. Mostly just stat changes can be done. As the other battle plans stated a full patch is required to patch maps and other large content but they require verification and time so hot fixes are used as in between a to try to help the flow. Hope this helps.

You can you the exact same thing in that map too. There are side corridors that people can back door and flank with. Just learn those spots and defend them by checking often. It eliminates it entirely.

Thorn has zoom too but at least her passive needs to be charged while marquis hits every 3rd or 2nd shot with helix. He’s just op in general. Like. Miko healer the tank constantly.

But her zoom is not as good as Marquis scoped rifle. And if Marquis didn’t have his passive the way it is, everyone would be complaining about Thorn’s charge passive as being op.

But Miko healing the tank isn’t op… that’s just what he’s there to do. Hence why you concentrate on the healer first, than the tank. Yet for some reason, my team doesn’t go for the healer first, but when I’m playing the healer, the opposing team does>.<
