Honestly the UVHM in this game is pretty easy compared to 2
Deadlift is pretty tough until his shield goes down, like many have said use the terrain given and pick your moments.
I found the best way to get him is to wait for him to start firing up the electrical floor generators and then throw your choice of Quasar/Stormfront/Tesla nades at him.
Running into the middle of the floor and trying to pick stuff off with a rosie is not going to help, you need to hit him hard and then get moving again, make note of where he is in relation to you and try to shoot his big meaty balls of electrocution.
Only struggled with him twice on UVHM, first time was the very first time I played UVHM and the next time was playing co-op Aurelias but even then we slugged away with longnails and only died once each.
the fights gets soooo much easier if you have a buddy or 3 that will revive you. you dont need great gear. you need to pay attention to the situation. there are spots on the floor where the electricy cant hurt you and he can sometimes get into a loop and jump back and forth just shootin those homing orbs, which can make it a lil easier!. Deadlift can be a pain if you arent prepared. i got steam rolled by him a couple of times in UVHM and i had to either get some newer gear or wait for a friend. More often tho i go prepared and I ANNIHILATE HIM! HIGH BROW!! i played almost all of UVHM with lvl 50 gear until i get to 60. i have done that with most of the character too.
The sidequest for a shock sniper right before deadlift is probably there to make the game easier. It’s not required but it definitely seems like a suggestion. It’s saying, “hey you might want a shock gun soon”. As for playing as claptrap, the game warned you. His action skill does what it wants and it’s not always useful. His skill trees do tend to make explosions pretty awesome.
And finally, the game is about choice but it’s also about conquering specific objectives/difficult situations. Such as how do you take down a heavily shielded guy that moves a lot in a jump pad filled chamber. There are multiple ways. If every encounter in the game allowed you to use any element, strategy or tactic and still do well, then it’d get kinda boring. That’s why shock, corrosive, fire and ice exist in the game. To help provide further differences between encounters.
edit: corrected “want” to “what”
It’s all balanced. I’ve found a large selection of weapons that can tear through this softer UVHM (and thank god it’s softer, it’s 1000x better than it was in BL2). I agree that nerfing guns under the excuse of diverse builds is counter-productive and a bad practice.
I’m glad they nerfed the rosie. Ain’t not much diversity if everyone runs around with rosie +bulwark +3dd1.e.
Not so happy about how much roid shields were nerfed. They shoulda went down to 25/ of the og damage instead of 9 % as of now
Yeah, lets nerf the Rosie because no one uses anything else, meanwhile Everyone just wangs IVFs at bosses and laughs at the poor Rosie.
But I think build diversity and weapon selection should be down to the player, its not like the only option was to rock the Rosie or you get turned inside out (unlike UVHM in BL2 basically requiring a rubie/grognozzle to even stay alive for bosses). If anything fixing some of the bugs with skills/class mods would help with build variety (which I see plenty of for TPS anyway).
I can only think of 3 classes for efficient IVF chucking for bosses. That’s diverse enough for me
You can do it with everyone though, even without grenade and mag buffs a refill IVF still packs a huge punch that kills everything super easy.
I’m going to come off as a real ass but, pahahahaha health gating! Play smarter, not harder (though I guess “health gating” is still playing smarter).
UVHM is supposed to be difficult. There’s a reason why the easiest mode is called normal.
Nerfed guns? What?
Game mechanics. Sure, you can use whatever gun you want. But your character, build, and guns should all work together. You don’t run a Ceraunic Storm Athena with Jackob’s assault rifles and then wonder why it’s not working.
Use elemental effectiveness, use cover, have ways to heal yourself. Don’t run right up to enemies if it’s not going to benefit you (or do if it does benefit you).
OP, I sincerely hope this helps, but I think that UVHM (even in TPS; BL2 is on a different scale) is specifically meant to be off the end of the balanced game play, as an option for players that like this sort of thing. Some people find it easy, some find it hard (with or without top-shelf weapons), and some enemies in this landscape will be harder than others (I do agree that Deadlift is a very challenging fight when not using top-shelf gear compared to other bosses), but if you stepped into UVHM expecting a balanced fight, Deadlift is likely to be the first of many disappointments.
Deadlift was a huge difficulty spike for me too, early on. If he hits you with his electric balls and electrified floors, you will be hurting. I found that if my available weapons didn’t cut it, the best way to survive was that stairwell straight ahead from the entrance to his lair. Hop on the first jump pad you see, as you enter, and run straight ahead after the jump. You can duck up and down between floors as needed, and the stairs never get electrified. Pick at him from there, but you can’t dilly-dally, because that massive shield of his does recharge (slowly).
It’s because normal mode is called true. If you don’t call your normal mode normal, might as well asign that moniker to the easy mode.
Just me, or your math is crap? You say 1 hit, I see 3 hits.
You play your Claptrap wrong.
TVHM is still a joke. I finish it everytime around 44-45 without dying all the time.
Again, advice on how to manage the challenges faced is good, but just telling someone that they are bad is not helpful.
If I simply tell you that you forum wrong, and that I forum really well, that doesn’t help you improve, does it?
But the person isnt that good yet. Its obvious cause he keeps having alot of trouble and blaming it on the game and gearbox. Yea telling someone you’re playing a character wrong is going a little to far. But telling him he isnt good will maybe open his eyes up and give him motivation to learn and get better so he doesnt have trouble anymore. I understand i could of said it earlier, nicer. And with some pointers thrown in so i apologize to him for that. But i know when i said he wasnt good. I wasnt tryng to be mean to the dude. Just called it like i saw it in the video.
So why don’t you go back and edit your post to say it nicer, now? Also, please don’t talk about other forum users like they are not present.
And ‘just calling it like I saw’ is never going to excuse rudeness or helpfulness.
Yes i realized it does not excuse the rudeness. That is why i just stated not to long ago i could of said it nicer and apologized. I admit i was wrong. And next time if i have to say the truth. It will be said in a nice way and i will help nicely.
Groovy. Thankyou.
