Y’know, I feel like I need to second this.
I have a buddy of mine who fancies himself an FPS ace. He is REALLY good, to be sure, but it’s mostly built on Player vs. Computer as opposed to PvP.
He gets in to Battleborn PvP, and he’s VERY dismayed by how many people are constantly jumping. I try to explain, “hey, that’s just a playstyle, man. It’s a tactically wise move.” (he also fancies himself a strategist beyond compare, so I thought that angle would work well to make him less frustrated by it.)
Still, I can empathize. I get frustrated by trying to shoot jumping beans, but I can also respect guys who developed the skill to play like they’re on a trampoline. I’m not the best at it. (It boggled my mind to see one guy who never stopped jumping while still landing consistent headshots as THORN. That was impressive.)
I get that Battleborn, with its (Not) Vampire Swordsmen, Techno-adpative Gremlins and Mech-piloting Battle Penguins may not care too much about realism, but perhaps “jump fatigue” is one aspect that should be considered.
