I’m beyond upset with this, done playing her, which was fun in Story mode.
Only way I can think of for how she was treated is, well, she was torn and tossed.
Unfortunately, I won’t have much of a chance to play in the next few days.
Okay so first reading the hot fixes I honestly was saying “you mother fu…” and I usually am always on gearboxes side. Heck my first post was defending the game from all the negativity. However after reading so many comments from both sides I’m not as upset with it anymore. I have been playing Alani almost non-stop since she came out and I have to admit she did hit hard to an extent. I would always have the highest score playing with randoms and with a team of friends. She definitely was not OP unless in the right hands I’m no pro but I do feel confident to say in the least I’m good. Her heals are not the best as if you’re in a hurry to heal a team member you can mess it up by
1 ) healing your self
2 ) healing a bot…
Or 3 ) healing the wrong person
Her survivability rate was a bit high In a game of meltdown I once protected a lane ALL ON MY OWN with the occasional help of 1 person but that was only when I died. Not to mention I was against Caldi and phoebe who have kinda big hit boxes. It was enough for me to keep up with healing. You can definitely get quick osmosis with the right set up. I could ( at the initial use of riptide with the helix that builds it. ) get two full osmosis just being in it. But like I said it its easy to miss. As for the nerfs the primary damage was harsh. The range ( like others have been saying ) was what I used to get osmosis most of the time. Her skill nerfs were not needed in my opinion I don’t play her for damage. I do indeed play her support if I have high kills it’s because I get the last hit with my high attack speed. I try to stick to a teammate but I can’t lie and say I couldn’t handle my self alone sometimes. For the most part tho I did need to stick to a teammate and I would apologize for the kills I would take every time. As for the bubble man I can barely land it and when I do they don’t stay in there long enough to die. Unless I’m with a full range team. Or atleast 3 and that’s only if they’re there which most times they arnt. I do believe she needed a nerf but this is too much to me. In there hot fix notes they said they wanted her to be a support character so they reduced alot of her damage side but why didn’t they increase her healing then. In her trailer they said she was gonna be a healer and a warrior. With those nerfs she’s no warrior. It seems everytime gearbox nerfs someone it’s as if they’re shoving their characters face in the dirt and keeping them down. I no longer see Ambra anymore and when I do see one she’s not a threat. Before I’d run away when I saw her now I take them head on and usually kill them with no problem. Hopefully they do something about it but from what I’ve seen with Ambra they probably won’t and Alani will join Ambra in the corner and won’t get picked to be on the team as much as they want. But it’s not entirely gearboxes fault. They gave the community exactly what they wanted. They wanted a nerfed Alani so the blame can’t go all to gearbox.
Meh the nerfs does nothink to effect her tbh it just opens up more helix choices to use

Been playing capture and come oug with 12-0 k/d and im rank 15 with her but damnit gimme ambra so i can get my legendary T-T
But with the nerf i dont see the difference tbh especially when my helix is this now

With these alani is strong base on the player playing her… and if ur against bad players u will devour them in the ocean
Pro tip and some tricks
-Emergance can attached to friendly players and enemies if u hit them with it and it travels along with them until it erupts

use ride the wave to confuse players they cannot keep up its also a perfect escape if ur low hp try get behide a rock and teleport back to base

keep sur osmosis stacks at max and only use it to heal players who are at 30-50% hp… if multiple players are low use geyser to heal them all for 350+
Gear choices for alani are base on what u are doing
Pve
- cooldown reduction and attack speed
PvP capture
- attack speed and health
PvP incursion
- cooldown reduction and health
Pvp Meltdown
- cooldown reduction and health
Thing is alani need cooldown reduction to be able to keep firing her riptide and geyser as much as possible never mind attack speed to much as “pressure wash” make it easyier to get osmosis reducing it to 6 hits needed to gain a full stack
I enjoy this “balance” (aka not nerf)
As someone who fights against Alani and also plays Alani I even knew her damage was just too much. Her skills are great. Her speed is great. Her healing is great
But her DAMAGE OUTPUT was too over-powered especially when you consider how fast she can potentially spam her skills (which is what everyone picks anyway)
Going 1v2 and 1v3 and thinking to yourself, “I got this. I’m okay” as an Alani character just should not happen. She was many jobs rolled into one perfect character
GearBox understood this and brought her down a few notches which is exactly what this game needed for her character
You’re entitled to your opinion as am I I’m not totally over joyed over it nor am I going to stop playing Alani all together. I think it was a bit to harsh.

This is a joke right? She balenced now nothing like ambra just played my first game with her in a while.
Most kills least deaths most healing done far from weak.
I shall play other incase i was with and against a bad team.
Tanks are supposed to deal less damage compared to other classes in exchange for their tankiness.
How does Gearbox expect me to kill Ambra 25 times with all of these nerfs? RIP Master of Alani 
And supports are supposed to do less damage due to they healing 
Now the Real Masters of Alani will rise XD
So after trying her out, ill be honest she feels no different
she still is damaging and I managed to get get a gear that gave me attack damage and skill damage but also give 1800+ health. The people who claim it was too much or say “RIP” or say she is useless were just not good with her to begin with. If you like I would gladly share what gear I use with her 
My only regret about this nerf is that they didn’t just remove her from the game entirely.

Why are people so buthutt over this? she had great dps her skill did alot of damage as well and a ton of other effects now even after these nerfs she still strong i wouldnt say op but strong i still see one every game so she cant be weak can she?
People need to quit whining about nerfs gearbox looks at data as well as what people say they dont nerf character just because someone made a topic about it.
Alani is fine… if ur dying to her its litterally a L2P issue or git good
I play alani none stop and omg the amount of times i just want to melee characters and droo them off a cliff… seriously this is how u know when u got bad players who playig melee
- they charge straight for u when u can see them coming. (free kill woooo)
- they do there helix in the middle of a firefight
- they chase u into ur base or near ur sentry
- they leeroy towards u when u have ur team with u
- they face tank ur attacks and dont run circles around u
- they blow all there skills and miss them all
- they rage quit and complain on the forums and demand nerfs
Litterallly this is all the time in pvp… melee players dont know how to flank or suprise attack players… instead they go all rambo and expect to faceroll every character and when they dont they rage quit or cry on the forums
How many of u seen this
- rath charging blow all his cooldowns and miss everything
- phoebe charging and blowing her cooldowns with no one around
- a battle miko not healing and think hes a tank
- marquis in the front lines
- thorn in the front lines
- everyone at the choke point of incursion
- attikus, kelvin, boldur, galiea. Pushed way to hard towards the sentry and died
- orendi not clearing minions
- oscer mike not clearing minions
- benedict flying around doing nothing
The list goes on and on and on how many bad players there are playing this game… its a good game but most of its problems is match making and the community
I like this game i really do but after seeing seeing how many players who treating this game too much as a CoD (oscer mike, whiskey, marquis, ghalt, caldarius, mellka) and burn through ur lives in story… or ignore the objective and feed the enemy team D:
Then u got melee characters thinking there rambo and can take on the world
This game need tutorial for pvp and pve… explain that its not like borderlands with infinite lifes that u must work as a team and stick as a team at all times … especially on advance
U must explain that meltdown and incursion is moba style gameplay that u cannot run around like headless chickens and trying to killl players none stop and ignore the minion waves
