You got your wish. Alani has now been nerfed into the ground

She’s still a good character to use…

I’ve still been having fun as Alani. Still seeing amazing Gals. Still having a blast as Ambra.

I guess the ground is a happy place, then?

I’ve played with you on Xbox radical, your Montana needs work

Seriously haha, I played Montana for the first time today when I didn’t pick anyone lol I agree

EDIT: I just looked at that game and I went 2 and 0. Sup dude?

I got 14 kills with miko earlier and only 2 deaths, she does more damage to players in pvp than Alani, trust me I’m a doctor

I’ve played 157 games in BB, won 101 of them and my mains are Gali, Miko, Alani, Thorn and Marq, I know what I’m talking about and 1v1 I’ll take miko over Alani in a fight now, while miko has super mobility and master heals

Since day one I have enjoyed playjng with Alani. Great character because she could heal a little battle a little and you disnt have to worry if you got caught out front too much. Now you have nerfed her to a character that i will never play again. She doesnt heal enough to be good support and can no longer fight, so she is just a waste of time. Glad the cry babys won out here, but i shouldnt expect anything less. I am just praying that this doeant become a trend with you as developers. If every character you release gets nerfed a couple of weeks after it comes out i will get rid of my game all together.

Let’s consider friend, for a moment. Alani is still a very useful character. She has the only ability in the game that can render MULTIPLE characters completely defenseless, she does this above the fight so any ranged character, including herself, can attack the defenseless victim(s).

She has a great lane clearing ability that can be upgraded into one of the most efficient escapes in the game, but that can also be used as one of the best and most reliable knockbacks with a cooldown that is still very reasonable. Did I mention that it can do damage over time?

Now Alani is far less damaging than she was. True. But she was released as a support character. No support should be able to out DPS an assassin, have more sustain than a tank, or out heal a healer. She was literally everything.

I am a huge fan of this character. I have all her lore, save for Ambra kills, i have all of her skins and the new one. I am happy she is balanced now because now when people see her picked they are willing to give it a shot.

When a character is “nerfed” that is our opportunity to prove she is still a threat in our capable hands. Taking away her effectiveness in the hands of people that choose her on a whim and making them really learn the character is part of the fun and very gratifying. How awesome is it when there is the same character on the enemy team? It is the unspoken rule that you must kill the other one. There can be only one. You want to prove you are the better of the two.

My advice is hone your skills with her. Master her not just by the game’s standards but by your own. You loved playing as her, why give up now? She became harder to use? Excellent. Now you can really show 'em what you’re made of! Make them fear you.

Yes, exactly. Focus on one or the other.

Honestly, I never really healed with Alani unless someone was running back to base with no health. It was all about those minion hits with riptide and the bubble of death for kills. I didn’t think Alani was that hard of a hitter to begin with until you got her dps mutation for riptide. I also had attack speed and attack damage on her to boost her abilities - that’s when she got to be OP - but before all that I mainly got assists.

No argument that she had too much, but it’s unfair to nerf all her abilities. She’s left with very little at this point.

Alani is still very good! The only thing that bothers me now is the the “controlling” aspect of her. After days playing strictly Alani, its a lot harder for her to control the lane. I am really hoping they give her Wave shock damage back!

Interesting. I really really like Miko.

-Opinion…I disagree.

-Geyers is not easy to hit, has a cast time (about 3 seconds) and would only hit multiple enemies if they’re all standing right next to each other for an extended period of time. That doesn’t make geyser super good, that just makes the other team super bad.

-For those not familiar with Alani’s helix, I’d like to point out that the option to add DPS to riptide and the option to add slow to riptide are both level 4 so you’re getting one or the other…not both. As far as lane clearing, with the last round of nerfs, the devs have all but ensured that it’s impossible for riptide to do that. They cut its base damage by more than half and then proceeded to reduce the damage increase of shockwave. At this point, your best bet would be to add slow to riptide and hope someone else is nearby to actually deal with the enemy/minions.

-She was developed/marketed/advertised and released as a warrior/healer and the warrior side of her has been completely gutted.

-And you know why everyone is finding it incredibly difficult to get the “kill Ambra” lore? Because she, too, was nerfed into the ground and people stopped using her.

I think when Miko is able to 1v1 Alani with ease, the problem might be the game and not the player.

What Alani are you playing? The rest of us were playing an Alani that felt like she was moving through cold molasses.

After the last round of nerfs while playing as Alani I found myself getting 1v1 by a Miko on 3 or 4 different occasions. Like you, I’ll take Miko any day of the week over what Alani has become. Miko has better heals, a poison effect on the kunai, is much MUCH faster than Alani and has a base health that starts higher than Alani’s. Even if you add the slow effect to riptide, Miko can counter slow you with spore and is still fast enough to chase you down. Umm…what?

That would have been fun to watch but your team allowed you to get chased by a Miko?

A buddy of mine plays Alani and is upset with the changes too but Alani is still a really good support to have with you… That bubble of doom

Im telling you, she is still very much viable! You just have to find the right gear and helix build.

Now that I’ve had a chance to play her a little in PvP and PvE, I can honestly say that she feels pretty much the same when used in a support role. I was worried about the range decrease, but it hasn’t bothered me in the slightest.

I do believe that Alani is slightly squishier than she needs to be (bearing in mind that I want, as a support, to be focused on healing others, not myself) but I get that it’s a tough thing to balance since it can make her too durable for more selfish play styles.

I would be very happy to see her health buffed along with a decrease to her self-healing for this reason.
