You should be able to call Auto Bear

Back in early October, when I started playing Moze after Amara, I took a rocket to the face on IB exit in the Slaughter Shaft. Learned my lesson real quick.

Could be the case. But I don’t normally go ā€˜wait a minute somethings totally different’ suddenly. The iframes on exit that I remember was very short, but the animation was definitely over, you could take one step or press one button and then it would end. I used it every single time I exited to toss a grenade so I would have healing before taking damage.

Then after the iron bear Vampyr update (I think it was this one) it wasn’t even close to working. My shield was gone before my feet were on the ground. If iron bear dies you can go down before you can even move.

There’s no way to prove this though so I can’t really say more and you could just say naaah and it’s end of discussion. Ah well.

Well it’s possible my death was after the iframes. I don’t know. I also never immediately threw a Grenade every time I exited, so if you can’t now then something was changed.

But back when visibility was terrible while having a dot on you in IB I stepped out with about 1/3rd shield and 1hp. I couldn’t see anything because the corrosive DOT was covering everything. When I did I was downed as soon as my feet touched the ground. I don’t know whether it was the DOT on IB, the rocket spam, or it could have been an anointed I didn’t see. I’m not sure how long the iframes usually are, but my feet touched and I was downed.

I’d also like the Iron Bears ground pound to do something I think a knockback effect would be awesome so you can just go on the bridge before wotan and start sending all those ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  dogs off the map

It was definitely always like that. You very literally could take 1 maybe 2 steps while tossing a grenade before damage would hit.

Now I take damage before my feet are on the ground, and that can’t be an intentional change it’s ridiculous.

If you’re exiting iron bear and an anointed zealot hits you with a purple ball you and autobear can die before you even fully exit. Luckily that doesn’t happen often at all if you’re aware of your surroundings.

It’s pretty shocking how bad his melee attack is haha. Why can’t it send all enemies within range onto their backs?

Not just his basic stomp attack but his Bear Fists too. I randomly gave them another stab in M4 yesterday and was reminded just how awful they are - one punch drains a lot of fuel and in an IB-focused build, the damage per punch is only 11k, when a single crit shot with an explosive minigun round can easily do over 30k.

Iron Bear is also in a bad state with relics - Unleash the Dragon doesn’t work with Bear Fists. I would’ve loved it if the Electric Banjo worked with Iron Bear’s weapons but that proved to be a miss too. It seems like for an IB build, the Victory Rush is the only relic worth using and I’m not even 100% sure that works either.

As for Auto Bear, I sit on the fence on this one. I agree there should be an option to summon it without the entry/exit animations, yet those animations provide god frames which if timed right, can completely nullify dangerous AOE attacks. Furthermore, it triggers FCoWA which fully replenishes my BBB shield and gives me Tenacious Defense again if needed by the time I eject myself out of Iron Bear.

I’ll have to try that… That’s a hard one to test though. Photo mode with damage numbers on haha.

As for the summon IB in turret mode. It would have to still have a short animation that gives a couple iframes I think. And FCoWA would still need to proc. As for the other benefits, I guess that’s why we get a choice. I’d use both to be honest, depends on the build right?
