Wilhelm took me a bit but he didn’t kill me. I was dropped into FFYL a few times but luckily those surveyors were close by. I can’t remember how much of a difference Wilhelm was from my level. But I ran out of pistol ammo so I had to use my Turret and a jakobs white rarity matching grip Onery Coach Gun. that shotty put in work for me.

LOL, my last try I ran out of sniper ammo for Droog, SMG ammo for Lascaux and Pistol ammo for Hornet and I didn’t get even half his health down. I don’t usually see him being very aggresive with the train cars but it felt like he didn’t care about me that much at all and was just interested in having as much help on the stage as possible. He got quite a few surveyors out too, since the loaders got in the way of trying to stop him which was pretty hard with anything but the Droog anyway.
I’ll just humble down and go get me a Harold when I start the game next time. Probably tomorrow.

One question to those who have completed this challenge already:
Did any of you do any sidequests? I’m just wondering if the level difference in clearing comes from extra mobs / farming luck or did you complete some quests in hopes of their rewards?

I did the Boll sidequest for a fastball which i got first try. Wasn’t that helpful sadly as i never had enough money to buy grenades!
You could try your luck with the loot midgets in WEP by opening the boxes just before the feeding time section for some fun viewing!

But my gun damage is higher than the rest. At 37% (Don’t ask me how, ask the game glitches).
So that give me at least twice that nothing!

Well my best fun was doing 20 damage against the warrior at level 21 which included 18% gun damage. So yeah I’m sure you’ll be glitching around like a madman!

Mayasochism went back at it today. Brought the Gluttonous thresher to the gate, hid behind the boxes, and managed to get it done without a respawn. Did the boring save quit method that @nat_zero_six highlighted to avoid xp at Overlook. Level 13 when I started Wildlife Preservation, level 14.5 getting second winds in the Bloodwing fight before I decided to take a breather. I don’t know how you guys did it, my best attempt was 50% of the bar left.

I didn’t do any. I was tempted to do the one involving Boll to try for a Fastball but I ended up not doing it. 
I was thinking earlier today, if I did this again, I would probably do the Doc Mercy thing in hopes of an Infinity.
I did the Warrior at level 20. It’s not impossible… but… holy CRAP is it grueling. I didn’t time myself, but it was literally hours (I died twice, doubling my time easily…) Easily the most patience-testing thing I’ve ever done in BL this side of Master Gee hehe. At that moment (actually in all of the required boss fights) I wish I had Maya’s Cloud Kill, but Sal’s ammo regen was a nice crutch for me heh.

Also, I just want to give a shout out to @Psymonkee for starting this. Despite the grueling parts, this was a lot of fun and I really got into it despite me being a little burned out on BL2. It gave me a real appreciation for making the best of the gear that came my way (I developed a real appreciation for a garden-variety green Torgue Slapper pistol that got me past the ambush commanders and several other bosses and tough baddies), and relying on my guts and experience (and lots of luck!)

I think I’m a little over leveled compared to everyone else (14.5 and currently stuck at Bloodwing), but the short answer is “yes, I did”. I did what I had to do to get the cutscenes in Sanctuary out of the way, took Rock Paper Scissors Genocide as far as the slag pistol, and took In Memoriam in hopes of a Fastball (didn’t happen). To be honest, I think most of my extra xp came from second winds. I went up almost a full level each at the Bloodshot Stronghold, Wilhelm, and in my attempts at Bloodwing today just on second winds. Maybe a half a level too at the Gluttonous thresher.

The Harold is one of the best farms for this playthrough because you don’t actually have to kill Savage Lee (hence no XP). Just wittle his health down and let the Bullymongs do the rest of the work!

I accidentally killed Lee myself 2 times leveled up to 10 
He didn’t drop me a Harold in 20 tries so I got bored with it for today. Weirdly I once killed him with a Stinging cactus and that didn’t give me any exp but once I killed a bullymong with a cactus and that one did give me exp

Yeah I can’t manage this fight. Down to 1/3rd health but then FFYL with no adds to get a second wind
Decided to try the Marcus Shooting Range trick. I now wield a level 13 corrosive pistol at level 10! Downside is it comes with a small TV on top. Save quit?

Definitely how I would handle that situation, but I dislike scopes on pistols for the most part. I’ll deal with one if I like the pistol enough, but that doesn’t happen too much.

Heeey, that’s actually a way to get a slag pistol too, why didn’t I think about that. Wouldn’t that be even more effective as long as you get slag on as whatever you are usually using would do double damage and corrosive is 1.75 (if memory serves) while the pistols own damage is not that great?

Wondered about the slag option but decided to hold onto the corrosive for a while. Went red chest hunting to see if I could get lucky and get little of use but also levelled to 11 running southpaw. Judge and Emperor from Oney. At least I have variety now since all I had before was 2 smgs and a sniper!
